Yes/Shoreline Amphitheatre [Union 30 Live] ....import 2 CD + DVD Set $26.99
As you are probably aware, 2021 is the 30th anniversary of the critically acclaimed Yes Union Tour, featuring all 8 iconic members of the band. To celebrate this event, courtesy of Larry Magid Entertainment, Gonzo Multimedia has put together a special souvenir limited edition containing three discs! The main disc features a multi-camera shoot DVD, with an accompanying soundtrack mixed by Trevor Rabin from the Shoreline Amphitheatre (8th August 1991) show and is available here on it's own! Rick Wakeman said about the project, "It has been well documented that I loathed the Union studio album as the whole project was taken out of our hands and destroyed by those handed the responsibility for finishing it off. However, the Union Tour was another matter. Probably the most amazing and enjoyable tour I have ever been on with Yes and I am so glad it was recorded and filmed as it was an incredibly special time that can never be repeated. The Union Tour is for me, the most important event in Yes history."
King Crimson/Music Is Our Friend: Live in Washington D.C. & Albany 2021 ....2 CD Set $22.99

The DC performance highlights a band in ferocious form, with a powerful, energetic set with some arrangements reworked and differing from previous tours. Robert Fripp/Music for Quiet Moments ....8 CD Set $67.99
Each of the 52 pieces included in this set were drawn from Soundscapes performances from 2004 to 2009. Presented as an 8-CD set with full color rigid bound 58-page book. "Quiet moments are when we put time aside to be quiet. Sometimes quiet moments find us. Quiet may be experienced with sound, and also through sound; in a place we hold to be sacred, or maybe on a crowded subway train hurtling towards Piccadilly or Times Square. Quiet Moments of my musical life, expressed in soundscapes, are deeply personal; yet utterly impersonal: they address the concerns we share within our common humanity." (Fripp)

David Cross & Andrew Keeling/October Is Marigold [Electric Chamber Music Vol. 3] ....import CD $22.99
David Cross is best known as a member of King Crimson on the "Larks' Tongues in Aspic" and "Starless and Bible Black" albums. He also leads the David Cross Band and has been a guest artist, recording and performing live with a number of international groups including Stick Men. Andrew Keeling is a composer and musician whose contemporary classical works have been internationally acclaimed. Besides working with David Cross he has also orchestrated the music of Robert Fripp (The Wine of Silence), arranged for Tim Bowness (Abandoned Dancehall Dreams) as well as playing with alt-rock band, The Gong Farmers. Keeling has also written a series of Musical Guides exploring the music of such bands as King Crimson. "October Is Marigold" is the second album from David Cross (electric violin) and Andrew Keeling (flute) and it is the third to appear on Noisy Records' 'Electric Chamber Music' label. Perhaps more strikingly than it's predecessors, this recording epitomizes the aims of that label to present music designed for an intimate setting which makes use of musical and electronic techniques used in rock. Cross and Keeling's "English Sun" was released in 2009 (followed by a handful of gigs) and the duo recorded much of "October is Marigold" in the same year. These tracks lay dormant until 2020 when work recommenced on the new album. Whereas "English Sun" encapsulates the vibrance of summer, "October is Marigold" portrays darker, melancholic autumnal atmospheres. The music is again mostly improvised, the exceptions being a previously written organ part for the title track and two guitar loops. Although the performances are spontaneous there is a clearer sense of architecture here, with the "Marigold" cello/piano theme arching in four incarnations across the album. Nature continues to be an inspiration, with field recordings of birds finding a natural place alongside pizzicato violin and fluttering flute. Cross demonstrates the full potential of the electric violin with, for example, a haunting, muted trumpet-like sound on the title track and the earthy, evocative use of cello pitched violin. Keeling's flute seems to embody the human response to the realities of nature, breathing, tumbling and bending with the wind. Throughout, there is an uninhibited flow across musical reference points - hints of folk, blues.
Can/Live in Brighton 1975 ....CD $17.99
Live in Brighton 1975 is the second in a series of Can live concerts available in full for the first time on CD. Originally recorded on tape, these carefully restored live albums will comprise the entirety of each show in the format of a story with a beginning, middle and end, with Can's performances taking on a life of their own. The band's line up for this legendary 1975 performance features all four original members- Irmin Schmidt on keys, Jaki Leibezeit on drums, Michel Karoli on guitar, and Holger Czukay on bass. Can's powerful influence has never diminished, and their indelible mark is apparent in the bands who freely acknowledge their importance - from Portishead, James Murphy, Sonic Youth, New Order, Factory Floor, Public Image Ltd, Mogwai, Madlib and Radiohead - as well as across other disciplines such as visual art and literature.
Tangerine Dream/Probe 6-8 ....CD $17.99
Tangerine Dream have been a fundamental influence on electronic music since Edgar Froese founded the band in West Berlin in 1967. Providing the groundwork for multiple electronic music genres including ambient and electronica, inspiring musicians and other art forms, with seven Grammy nominations to their credit. In recent years their music has featured in popular TV shows such as Stranger Things and video games including Grand Theft Auto. After Froese passed away in 2015, the remaining band members, Thorsten Quaeschning, Ulrich Schnauss and Hoshiko Yamane carried on to help realize Edgar's vision for of a conceptual album that attempts to translate quantum physics and philosophy into music, Quantum Gate was released to critical acclaim in 2017. With a new line up, Thorsten and Hoshiko have been joined by Berlin based keyboard virtuoso Paul Frick. The trio have spent 2021 in their Berlin studio working on Probe 6-8, a first glimpse into the forthcoming full Tangerine Dream studio album due for release in early 2022. Probe 6-8 sees the group's classic studio productions and late night real time compositions form a blueprint for slowly evolving ambient structures, with the band's sequencer driven sound reminiscent of TD's early 1970s work combining with a lush 1980s crystalline bliss. The trio have composed and produced Probe 6-8 with full access to Edgar Froese's Cubase arrangements and Otari Tape Archive with recordings from 1977-2013. The first track 'Raum,' is a nod to the band's early live studio performances 'Zeit' and 'Phaedra,' with a distinctive heavy Moog bass marking the beginning and the end of this 15-minute introductory piece. This new set of recordings also feature two remixes - Berlin-based composer and producer Grand River (Aimee Portioli) has given 'Raum' her signature sound and 'Continuum' was remixed by Berghain resident and Leisure System co-founder Sam Barker.

Joining Lancaster and Lumley were Viv Stanshall (assuming the role of narrator) and musicians such as Manfred Mann, Gary Brooker, Chris Spedding, Gary Moore, Stephane Grappelli, Brian Eno, Keith Tippett, Jon Hiseman, Bill Bruford, Phil Collins, Cozy Powell, Alvin Lee and Julie Tippett.
Gong/Live at Longlaville 27-10-1974 ....import 2 CD Set $22.99
Recorded in the middle of their most critically lauded Radio Gnome Invisible Trilogy era, Live at Longlaville: Salle ElsaTriolet, 27-10-74 is a previously unreleased concert recently discovered in the archives. Despite 1974 being one of the most intensive years in the band's history, with over 150 gigs clocked up, relatively few live recordings from that time exist. We are fortunate to have unearthed such a good one. When it came to squirrelling away recordings for future enjoyment, enlightenment or even possible enrichment, Gong were not the Grateful Dead. The Gong touring entourage were part Lost Boys (with the odd lost girl) who didn't fit in anywhere else but in such a group that coalesced around their uniquely expressive music. They were adventuring psychedelic troubadour brigands out to rob you of your more fearful and staid sensibilities by the sheer bubbling force of their musical, theatrical, and exuberant communal presence, both on and off stage. As you fell within the gravitational pull of the Green Planet Gong not only was anything possible, it was positively desirable. If the band's first major public appearance was at the Amougies Festival in 1969, then the Longlaville date marked the band's 5th birthday. By October 1974, just Daevid and Didier Malherbe remained on-stage from that first gig. With Steve Hillage spiralling ever upwards, and Tim Blake venturing further out there, thanks to the intense series of concerts leading up to Longlaville, Laurie fully reclaimed the Gong drum stool, and the gigs were joyous. Such a whirling band of extravagantly-attired and expansively-minded folk naturally attracted attention. Within these recordings you can hear Gong in their prime and firing on all cylinders.
Adam Wakeman/A Handful of Memories ....CD $19.99
On November 12th Adam Wakeman will release his first modern classical piano album since 1996's 'Tapestries' which he recorded with Rick Wakeman. 'A Handful Of Memories' is the result of an appreciation upon reflection of Adam's past experiences, trips with his family, his touring families and friends in some places that hold special memories for him. To reflect the personal, minimalist nature of the tracks, no effort was made to remove any of the pedal noises or enhance the tracks in any way, as Adam wanted them as exposed and natural as they can be. The album will be released through Blacklake Records on November 12th on CD, LP and digital format. The pandemic had a hand in Adam's return to modern classical piano after 25 years. As a highly sought-after touring pianist, Adam played extensively with Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Travis and many others, he records and performs with his progressive rock band Headspace, with his acoustic duo Wilson & Wakeman and last year he even ventured into the jazz world with his critically acclaimed documentary/album project Jazz Sabbath. When the pandemic started, and the music world paused, he was halfway through a South American tour with Martin Barre on his 50th Anniversary Tour of Jethro Tull. Forced to leave his gear in Chile and hurry home before the airports closed, a period of reflection had started and this album is a result of that.
Nucleus/Live at the BBC ....import 12 CD Box Set $114.99
Nucleus Live at the BBC is a decades' spanning 12 CD set comprising music and interviews drawn from BBC radio programmes broadcast between 1970 and 1991. Over 13 hours of music expertly remastered and restored by Eroc, collated from such seminal shows as Top Gear, Sounds of the 70s and Jazz in Britain. Disc 10 comprises an exciting collection of entirely improvised works, never released on CD. Liner notes by Roger Farbey, author of Elastic Dream: The Music of Ian Carr - A Critical Discography. Formed by trumpeter and future Miles Davis biographer Ian Carr, Nucleus were a distinctly British jazz-rock group forged in the musical village-like cauldron of London at the end of the '60s. Within it's first year alone (1970), Nucleus had caused a sensation at both the Montreux and Newport jazz festivals, and had recorded two albums (the first of nine for progressive-rock label Vertigo) and a torrent of sessions and concerts for the BBC, from John Peel's Top Gear and Sounds of the '70s on Radio 1 to Jazz in Britain on Radio 3. Curated by John McLaughlin biographer Colin Harper and mastered by the mighty Eroc - the same team responsible for Repertoire's acclaimed Colosseum and Pretty Things BBC sets - Nucleus Live at the BBC boasts nearly 14 hours of material spanning 1970-91. Almost four hours of that content documents the legendary founding line-up, featuring Chris Spedding (guitar), Karl Jenkins (keys, oboe), Brian Smith (saxes), Jeff Clyne (bass) and John Marshall (drums). The set is annotated by Ian Carr discographer/All About Jazz contributor Roger Farbey. Aside from The Pretty Redhead (Hux, 2003), this is the first collection of BBC Nucleus and is assembled from numerous private collections and the BBC itself.
Sun Ra/Omniverse ....CD $15.99
Recorded in New York in 1979 and released that year on Sun Ra's Saturn label, this is a solid, overlooked set in the vast Ra canon. The tracks aren't so much compositions as excursions, pure jazz, lots of reflective piano in trio, quartet, and sextet settings. Features cover art interpreted from a favorite Arkestra hand drawn cover, and liner notes from Irwin Chusid. Includes 12 minutes of CD only bonus euphony!
The Residents/Duck Stab! Alive! [Deluxe Edition] ....2 10" Vinyl LPs + DVD 94.99
The Residents released Duck Stab! as a seven inch EP in 1978. For the group, the EP represented a break from the much more experimental Eskimo recordings which consumed the majority of a four year period from 1975 - 79. To everyone's surprise, the EP was a hit, selling 50, 000 copies in a few months. The demand was so high that Ralph, the groups label, insisted the band record a second EP, Buster & Glen, which they paired with Duck Stab! to make an LP, which was also quite successful. In order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary alternative TV show "Night Flight," The Residents created a program based on a live version of Duck Stab!, which the band was already rehearsing as part of their upcoming 50th Anniversary Tour Dog Stab! Duck Stab! Alive! was recorded live in the studio over three days from May 19 - 21, 2021 at the 25th Street Studio in Oakland, CA. The stunning results in sound and vision are contained in this limited edition boxed set. This boxed set is a custom made 10" high quality box with a DVD Nest. The package includes two 10" LP's and a DVD Digipack with a 16 page booklet featuring a short story on Duck Stab along with full color images from the show.

Various Artists/Breakthrough: Underground Sounds of 1971 ....import 4 CD Set $45.99
Esoteric Recordings' next release in their series of compilations celebrating the so-called "underground" rock music. 1971 was a momentous year in rock and one which would continue to see progressive music in all it's forms become a dominating force with the album buying public. Much of this music appeared on the "progressive" imprints of major record labels such as EMI's Harvest, Decca's Deram and Philips Records' Vertigo and emerging independent labels such as Charisma, United Artists and Island and led to an increasing presence of underground album music on BBC Radio 1 on its Sounds of the Seventies and Top Gear programs. 1971 saw a wealth of imaginative artists meld seemingly disparate musical genres and influences such as jazz, blues, folk, rock and classical music on a host of wonderful albums, all of which appealed to an audience of students and followers of the "underground' culture. Universities and Colleges were regular venues on the burgeoning live music circuit in the UK for these artists, most of whom earned loyal followings through regular concert performances. 1971 also saw festivals such as Weeley (which attracted an estimated 150,000 people), Reading and the Glastonbury Fayre featuring the leading progressive album-focussed artists of the day. 'Breakthrough - Underground Sounds Of 1971' is a lovingly compiled collection from this pivotal year in music, featuring a host of key artists - Yes, ELP, Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull, VdGG, Caravan and more(!) - plus a host of lesser-known acts who failed to reach a wider audience but produced a wide breadth of music, such as BB Blunder, Big Sleep, Cressida, Help Yourself, Mighty Baby, Patto, Pink Fairies Samurai, Colin Scot, Spring, Stray and many more! Turn on and tune in to the gloriously diverse underground sounds of 1971. Includes an illustrated booklet with essay by Mark Powell.

Mark Isham/The Hitcher [Original Soundtrack] ....import CD $24.99
The chilling road thriller, The Hitcher, was released in 1986 and starred Rutger Hauer as a murderous hitchhiker in a relentless pursuit of a young motorist, C. Thomas Howell. Critically maligned at the time, over the years the film has built up a cult following and has spawned a sequel and a remake. The original soundtrack has been unavailable for close to 30 years. "Technically the music business was in a crossroads and new instruments and new instrument technologies were appearing every day. I availed myself of this "new" technology of "sampling" and brought in two drummers who played only originally sampled drums. I was still using my early system of a Prophet 5, an Oberheim 4 voice and my ARP 2600. To this I added this new keyboard, a Prophet 2000 (sampler). This was the "band"! - Mark Isham

Robin Guthrie/Pearldiving ....import CD $27.99
Following the October release of his EP Mockingbird Love comes the much anticipated 'next' full length album Pearldiving. Guthrie returns to his signature instrumental genre evoking an atmosphere and sound so instantly recognizable, and yet so very personal. From the slow burning opening notes of 'Ivy' to the last swelling distortion of 'The Amber Room,' Pearldiving is an album of delicacies, delights, darkness and light. Robin Guthrie's music has always been an intensely personal and unique expression, but his gift for the translation and evocation of emotions and experiences lends his music an appeal that transcends their origins in his own life, but also speaks to all of us on our own journeys. "After Another Flower, released just a few days before the untimely passing of my friend and co-conspirator Harold Budd, I felt the need to break my studio down and build it up again afresh to clear my head. The dawn of many of my previous releases was travel. I loved being somewhere new to work but, for a while now, the pandemic hasn't permitted that. So earlier this year I 'stayed at home' and created Pearldiving. This is my first instrumental album since Fortune and I guess I had some feelings to process."
Hawkwind/Dust of Time: An Anthology ....import 2 CD Set
Hawkwind/Dust of Time: An Anthology [Deluxe Boxset] ....import 6 CD Set $75.99
A two CD digipack set gathering together 26 tracks and a comprehensive six CD deluxe boxed set gathering together 81 tracks of musical highlights of over 50 years of the legendary Hawkwind. The first ever compilations to gather together all eras of the band's history. Includes an illustrated booklet with new essay and exclusive interview with Dave Brock. Hawkwind are one of the most legendary British bands who emerged at the dawn of 1970s. Formed in the Notting Hill area of London in 1969 and always helmed by their visionary leader Dave Brock, Hawkwind truly bridged the genres of psychedelic rock, hard rock and art rock to create a sound of their own. Signing to Liberty/United Artists in 1970, Hawkwind's formative years saw them form their own brand of so-called space rock over a series of classic albums such as 'In Search of Space,' 'Doremi Fasol Latido,' 'Space Ritual' and 'Hall of the Mountain Grill,' with a series of ever changing line-ups. Their 1972 hit single 'Silver Machine' and imaginative stage shows firmly established them in the consciousness of rock audiences. 1975's 'Warrior on the Edge of Time' marked the closure of one era of the band and saw Hawkwind progress in the latter half of the '70s to a more streamlined, art rock approach, with vocalist and lyricist Robert Calvert as front man on stage. The four albums the band issued during this period saw them embrace the New Wave of rock which was taking hold. In the 1980s and 1990s Hawkwind were embraced by followers of heavy metal and latterly acid house audiences (although the band remained unclassifiable). Throughout the decades, the band has always retained their influential edge. 'Dust of Time' celebrates Hawkwind's career of over 50 years and gathers together 26 tracks of musical highlights (81 tracks in the deluxe boxed set) of this incredible legacy. It is the first compilation to encompass key tracks every era of this remarkable band's history and is a tribute to their legacy.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse/Barn [Deluxe Edition] ....Vinyl LP + CD + Blu-Ray Set $84.99
Barn, the new Neil Young/Crazy Horse album was recorded in a remote, restored, 19th century log barn. This musical family has played together for a half century, yet they continue creating new music. Neil and the Horse fans have long shouted for "more barn" and here it is... 10 new songs that capture the wild rock and roll spirit, the idiosyncratic raw sound and the lyrical beauty that epitomizes a classic NYCH collaboration. The last song appeared on the last morning and was recorded just an hour later during a pounding hailstorm and during the full moon. The album was recorded this summer over a handful of days. The ten new songs encompass all that Neil Young with Crazy Horse are known for, beautiful romantic acoustic ballads, powerhouse electric rockers and insightful rollicking tunes that stick with you.

The Doors/L.A. Woman [50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition] ....3 CD + LP Box Set $75.99
To commemorate the album's 50-year anniversary, Rhino keeps on risin' with a 3-CD/1-LP set. L.A. Woman: 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition includes the original album newly remastered by The Doors' longtime engineer and mixer Bruce Botnick, two bonus discs of unreleased studio outtakes, and the stereo mix of the original album on 180-gram virgin vinyl. The Doors found their mojo (and Mr. Mojo Risin') in November 1970 as they recorded L.A. Woman over six days at the Workshop, the band's rehearsal space on Santa Monica Boulevard. A success both critically and commercially, the album was certified double-platinum and contains some of the band's most enduring music, including the Top 20 hit "Love Her Madly," "Riders on the Storm," and the title track. For this new collection, the original album has been expanded with more than two hours of unreleased recordings taken from the sessions for L.A. Woman, allowing the listener to experience the progression of each song as it developed in the studio. An early demo for "Hyacinth House" recorded at Robby Krieger's home studio in 1969 is also included. The outtakes feature Jim Morrison, John Densmore, Robby Krieger, and Ray Manzarek working in the studio with two additional musicians. The first was rhythm guitarist Marc Benno, who worked with Leon Russell in The Asylum Choir. The other was bassist Jerry Scheff, who was a member of Elvis Presley's TCB band. In the studio, Botnick says the band took a more organic approach to recording instead of starting and stopping repeatedly to achieve technical perfection. "The previously unreleased reels here - serial takes of 'The Changeling,' 'Love Her Madly,' 'Riders on the Storm,' and 'L.A. Woman' - depict a band obsessed with groove while executing turns and flourishes with the precision of a well-drilled soul combo ... The idea was to go from song to song, to let it flow." Among the outtakes of album tracks, you can also hear the band joyously ripping through the kinds of classic blues songs that Morrison once described as "original blues." There are great takes of Junior Parker's "Mystery Train," John Lee Hooker's "Crawling King Snake," Big Joe Williams' "Baby Please Don't Go," and "Get Out of My Life Woman," Lee Dorsey's funky 1966 classic, written by his producer Allen Toussaint. In the collection's extensive liner notes, veteran rock journalist David Fricke explores the whirlwind making of the album, which would be the last with Morrison, who died in Paris a few months after its release. "Morrison may never have come back to The Doors," he writes. "But with his death, L.A. Woman became rebirth, achievement, and finale, all at once. It's the blues too - original blues, as Morrison promised. Fifty years later, there is still nothing like it.

Steppenwolf/Magic Carpet Ride: The Dunhill & ABC Years 1967-1971 ....import 8 CD Box Set $69.99
Remastered from the original Dunhill/ABC master tapes. Steppenwolf was formed in 1967 in LA by John Kay (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Goldy McJohn (organ, piano) and Jerry Edmonton (drums) who were previously members of the Canadian band The Sparrows. They were joined by Michael Monarch (lead guitar) and Rushton Moreve (bass). The band signed to Dunhill/ABC the same year and with producer Gabriel Mekler they recorded their self-titled debut album. The band were propelled to success with their classic single 'Born to Be Wild' (a #2 hit in the USA) and became even wider known when the track was featured, along with their version of 'The Pusher' in the classic 1969 counterculture film Easy Rider. 'The Second' was released in October '68 and featured the hit single 'Magic Carpet Ride' (another US #2 hit). In March '69 'At Your Birthday Party' was released to further success and was their first record to feature Nick St Nicholas on bass and their last to feature Michael Monarch. The July 1969 release 'Early Steppenwolf' featured live recordings made at The Matrix in San Francisco in May 1967 and featured a 20-minute version of 'The Pusher.' The band's next studio album, 'Monster,' was issued in November 1969 and dealt with America's involvement in the Vietnam War. 1970 saw the band release two albums, the double LP 'Steppenwolf Live' and 'Steppenwolf 7.' By the release of the latter the band's popularity began to wain slightly, although they would retain a large and loyal fan base. Their November 1971 album 'For Ladies Only' was their last for Dunhill/ABC and Steppenwolf disbanded in February 1972 only to reform in 1974.
Grateful Dead/Road Trips Vol. 2 No. 1 - MSG September '90 ....2 CD Set $40.99
Two CDs. The best of three Madison Square Garden shows (September 18-20, 1990) on a two-CD set? Yes, please! Actually, Road Trips Vol. 2 No. 1 is almost all drawn from the 19th and 20th, but you don't want to miss the September 18th encore performance of 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door,' an especially moving rendition given keyboardist Brent Mydland's death two months earlier. This is the tour when both ex-Tubes member Vince Welnick (on electric keyboards) and Bruce Hornsby (on grand piano) ably stepped into the gap left by Mydland, and propelled the band to new heights. A rare '90s 'Dark Star, ' a second set 'Let It Grow' that goes off in new and fascinating directions, though Dick's Picks Vol. 9 came from the same set of MSG shows (September 16, to be exact), many folks feel these dates were superior. Peak '90s Dead!
Love/Black Beauty ....import CD $19.99
Black Beauty is an album by the psychedelic rock band Love, released on February 13, 2012. Issued on High Moon Records, it compiles material from a cancelled studio album, which frontman Arthur Lee - backed by a new group with an all-black line-up - planned to have released on the Buffalo Records label. Recorded after a series of unsuccessful albums, both with Love and his 1972 solo effort Vindicator, Black Beauty was intended to serve as Lee's comeback album. Among other Love releases, it is notable for it's reinvention of the band as a funk group, while preserving Lee's lyrical complexity. Released nearly six years after the death of Lee, Black Beauty did not represent the pinnacle of Lee's musical creativity but is seen as an appropriate closing chapter on his and Love's recording career. Some of the tracks for the cancelled album had appeared beforehand on compilation albums such as Reel to Real and Love Lost. However, Black Beauty is the first release to assemble all the compositions from the 1973 recording sessions. While the album does not represent the classic Love line-up, music critics have recognized it as the best representation of Lee's hard rock period.

Commander Cody & His Lost Planet Airmen/Strange Adventures on Planet Earth ....2 CD Set $25.99
Lead vocalist/keyboardist George Frayne took on the stage name and persona of Commander Cody after co-founding the band in 1967. Although the group's style was often described in its early days as country-rock, the Bay Area-based band had a harder-driving style ' and, as its sci-fi-serial-based name would indicate, more of a sense of humor than other country-influenced artists coming along at the time down in Los Angeles, like the Eagles or Poco. The sounds of rockabilly, Western swing, jump blues, jazz and boogie-woogie piano figured into the band's free-wheeling style as readily as country, finding enthusiastic fans among followers of rock groups like the Grateful Dead, for whom Commander Cody sometimes opened, as well as devotees of more traditional music forms. In concert was always the best way to experience Commander Cody and this new two CD set features a plethora of previously unreleased live recordings showcasing the band in the '70s. $1.00 from each record sold will be eonated to the American Cancer Society in the memory of George Frayne aka Commander Cody.

PFM/I Dreamed of Electric Sheep [Digipack Edition] ....2 CD Set $20.99
"In the making of 'I Dreamed of Electric Sheep' we were forced to work under very peculiar circumstances, often interrupting our studio activity because of the lockdown," says Franz Di Cioccio (lead vocals, drums). The whole process took one year spent mostly working at home, sharing ideas and meeting at Patrick Djivas' (bass, keyboards) home studio, before the band was able to record the album at White Studios in Milan, Italy. Being the rhythm section, Cioccio and Djivas make a perfect working team. "We both have a great passion for sci-fi movies. In the past we watched many of them together. In the case of 'Blade Runner' we were hit by the question: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? - The world has been changing around us. Computers are taking over and covid has accelerated the process. However, we strongly believe in the power of people to use their imagination and fantasy. To us this is what really makes the difference between human beings and androids." The band considers themselves being in a similar place when it comes to music that impressionists were in when it comes to painting: They didn't paint fixed somatic traits for their figures with their brush strokes while PFM (Premiata Forneria Marconi) do not consider themselves limited to a specific genre. While the album tells multiple stories they are all linked to passion, love and the power of imagination. As a real treat PMF invited a couple of musicians they have been friends with for a long time: Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) on flute and Steve Hackett (ex-Genesis) on electric guitar. "I Dreamed of Electric Sheep" is simultaneously released in both English and Italian versions, hence the Italian subtitle, "Ho Sognato Pecore Elettriche."

The Gong Family Unconvention at the Melkweg club in Amsterdam in November 2006 was a unique three day event in which all the surviving original members of this legendary psychedelic band came together and, after performing their own individual sets, performed once again as Gong. This climactic and joyful 2hr 16min Gong live set was beautifully captured for this double CD.
Bill Nelson/Chimera ....import CD $15.99
'Chimera' was actually a 6-song EP released in 1983 by former vocalist and guitarist of the rock group Be-Bop Deluxe. It's a masterpiece of the genius Bill Nelson, played by a dream ensemble that includes some of Nelson's most soaring e-bow and other guitar work, complimented by the mighty yet precise Yukihiro Takahashi (from Yellow Magic Orchestra) on drums and the melodic, fretless bass of Japan's Mick Karn. This version is rounded out by three remixes of "Acceleration" and the great B-side "Hard Facts from the Fiction Department." The fusion of catchy pop rhythms and Japan-esque beats is truly enticing and foot taperingly catchy. Bill Nelson is the star that never was. Heard by few but admired by many. Perhaps Nelson's art-rock is the best kept secret of the eighties.

Pineapple Thief/Nothing But the Truth ....2 CD Set $18.99
Pineapple Thief/Nothing But the Truth [Deluxe] ....2 CD + DVD-A + Blu-Ray Box Set $85.99
The Pineapple Thief's stunning filmed performance 'Nothing But the Truth' to be released as a deluxe 4 disc hardback book edition. The Pineapple Thief, are one of the leading lights of Europe's experimental rock domain, led by post-progressive mastermind Bruce Soord & reinforced by Gavin Harrison (King Crimson) on drums. Following the release of their latest studio album 'Versions of the Truth' in September 2020, the band were preparing to start the album's live campaign, when like so many other artists their plans were put on hold by the continuing global pandemic. Eager to still perform & connect with their fans across the globe, in April 2021, The Pineapple Thief filmed an extravagant on-demand live event entitled 'Nothing But the Truth' directed by band videographer George Laycock (Blacktide Phonic/Visual). Bruce Soord explains, "The Pineapple Thief is equally about the studio & the stage so it was hugely disappointing that we were unable to tour, especially as we were excited to be able to perform the new album 'Versions of the Truth' live for everyone. Being able to do this film, especially under the circumstances, was invaluable. We all knew we did not want to shoot a film of us standing on stage staring at an empty room. We wanted something special, something 'cinematic' so we have created something unique and very, very special that I am proud to have been a part of. I can't wait for people to see it. It's the icing on the cake to see our show being released in a 'physical' format. For the first time we have included a Dolby Atmos immersive mix on the Blu-ray as well as DTS-HD 5. 1 & high-definition stereo. The deluxe edition is wonderful and I for one will give it pride of place in my collection. A special souvenir of a special day." Drummer, Gavin Harrison adds, "'Nothing But the Truth' is a highlight for this band in terms of captured performance." The Blu-ray & DVD discs feature the full performance plus a dedicated 'Drumcam' option so fans of Gavin Harrison can watch the entire drum performance. Includes four bonus songs not seen on the streamed event, four music videos "Demons," "Break It All," "Versions of the Truth" & "Driving Like Maniacs" all with Dolby Atmos mixes, 6 documentary shorts from the band 60-page hardback book containing lyrics, exclusive photos from the performance & much more.
Porcupine Tree/In Absentia ....import CD $18.99
In Absentia was Porcupine Tree's seventh studio album, first released in 2002, and was the first in a run of three albums that for many represent the pinnacle of the band's artistic achievements. Not many albums can claim to have created a new genre, but with it's fusion of metal, progressive rock, ambient textures, and acoustic singer-songwriter styled material, it became something of a blueprint for a generation of bands to come. It was also something of a breakthrough for the band, eventually going on to sell three times more than the band's previous releases. In Absentia features many of Porcupine Tree's most beloved songs, including "Trains," "The Sound of Muzak" and "Blackest Eyes." While not a formal concept album, many of the songs have common themes related to serial killers, youthful innocence gone wrong, and observations of the modern world, setting a template for many of songwriter Steven Wilson's future songs. Porcupine Tree released their last album, The Incident, in 2009, marking another step forward in the incredible journey of the band that began as a solo studio project created by Steven Wilson in the late eighties to a multi grammy nominated act and one of the world's most revered live bands, selling out arenas across the globe and wowing fans with their incredible performances. This new Transmission 2021 reissue of In Absentia remains faithful to the original artwork and is presented in a digipack with 8 page colour booklet.

The set also includes unused pieces from their 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' album; 'The Man Called Sherlock,' which was the original version of the 'Overture,' and '221B' inspired by Sherlock Holmes' famous address in Baker Street. Clive Nolan (Pendragon, Arena) and Oliver Wakeman (Yes, Strawbs) first combined their considerable keyboard and compositional talents to create the two aforementioned rock opera/concept albums in 1999 and 2002. Peter Pracownik was the creative behind the original 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' artwork 20 years ago and has employed his talents again for the sleeve of 'Dark Fables.'

Affinity/Affinity [Remastered & Expanded] ....4 CD Set $52.99
A new expanded, remastered four CD clamshell boxed set by the legendary progress/jazz rock group, Affinity. The band's origins go back to 1965 at the University of Sussex in Brighton when Lynton Naiff (keyboards), Grant Serpell (drums), and Nick Nicholas (double bass) formed the US Jazz Trio to perform at University events and local gigs. When Serpell graduated a year later he was replaced by Mo Foster who had earlier been playing bass guitar in his school band but had now switched to drums. In 1968, Naiff, Serpell and Foster recruited Mike Jopp on guitar and the outstanding vocalist Linda Hoyle to form Affinity. The band made their live debut in October 1968 and soon appeared on the BBC radio show Jazz Club. Legendary saxophonist and club owner Ronnie Scott heard a recording of this performance and subsequently agreed to manage them and give them regular bookings at his world-famous jazz club. Affinity soon began to attract a lot of favourable media attention and signed to the newly formed Vertigo label in 1969. Their eponymous debut album, produced by John Anthony, appeared in 1970. Thanks to outstanding tracks such as 'Three Sisters,' 'Night Flight' and imaginative covers of Bob Dylan's 'All Along the Watchtower' and Alan Hull's 'I Am and So Are You' (featuring a brass arrangement by Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones), Affinity received excellent reviews, with the Sunday Times praising the playing of organist Lynton Naiff and vocalist Linda Hoyle.

Embryo/Auf Auf ....CD $15.99
The late Christian Burchard, who founded the Embryo ensemble in 1969, loved the slogan "auf auf," German for "up, up," or "keep on going." Anyone with anything more than a passing interest in the German Krautock scene of the 1970s and 1980s knows that Burchard followed that intent all around the world, tirelessly seeking out new sounds and inspirations and creating a catalog of music unlike most anything else the world has ever heard. When Marja Burchard, Christan's daughter, who grew up with Embryo and toured with them for years, took the reins of the ensemble after Christian's death in 2018, she started recording what would become the album Auf Auf. It was recorded over the course of two years, finishing it in the throes of the Covid pandemic in 2020. She approached Madlib and Egon - who had visited and jammed with Christian Burchard and Embryo musicians years ago in a Bavarian wine cellar - with the idea to issue Auf Auf on Madlib Invazion. The reply was a resounding, definitive yes. So here is Marja's take on the Embryo ethos, continuing with her father's intrepid style, and leading the band in her own style. Auf Auf ranges from the deep, free-form jazz of "Alphorn Prayer" to modal music from Afghanistan on "Baran" to psychedelic-tinged jazz-rock of the title track. Joining Marja are those like Embryo veterans Bunka, on oud and guitar, and Karl Hector and the Malcouns/Whitefield Brothers/Poets of Rhythm producer and guitarist Jan Weissenfeldt and others, including important players on the global scene from Afghanistan and Morocco.

The music here has the innocent charm of the dawning of a new-age and are bright, upbeat, sweet and romantic and full of innocence charms and flowing music which has made her so popular over the years.

Galahad Electric Company/Soul Therapy ....import CD $21.99
Avalon Records is proud to present a second 'unexpected' new album 'Soul Therapy' from Galahad off shoot project the 'Galahad Electric Company' featuring Dean and Stu, less than a year after their 'When the Battle Is Over' album was released. The album features seven brand new songs written in a very productive four week period straddling November and December 2020 plus several songs left over from the Summer 2020 recording sessions for 'When the Battle Is Over.' Again, due to more constraints than normal as far as the recording process was concerned a certain amount of experimentation was involved with some of the songs, a few of which were completely 'ad-libbed' in the moment as it were. As with the previous album Dean and Stu didn't work face to face at all during this latest project. 'Soul Therapy' is also, as the name suggests, one of the most personal and raw collections of songs ever written by Stu, indeed no less than six of the tracks relate directly to the sad passing of Stu's mother, Maureen, in November 2020 from lymphoma cancer after a long, often tortuous but determined five year battle against the disease. Suitably sympathetic soundtracks and arrangements were provided as usual by the incredibly creative and empathetic Dean Baker. Thus, much of the subject matter is very much centered around strong, often dark and extreme emotions felt in trying to deal with the grief of such a loss including those of anger, frustration, pain and sorrow along with more reflective feelings such as healing, acceptance and hope for the future as well as fond memories of the past. The writing process also proved extremely cathartic and helped towards dealing with such a tumultuous and life changing event.

Knudsen & Rudzinskis/Space Big Band ....CD $15.99
Space, endless expanses: these are the adventures of the Space Big Band, who travel with a team of seventeen to places that no big band has ever seen before. Space Big Band was named by Danish bassist Kenneth Dahl Knudsen and Latvian saxophonist Toms Rudzinskis. The two got to know each other in Berlin. They hit it off musically and decided to form a band together. Both Knudsen and Rudzinskis had worked for big bands in the past and found that there was a lack of modern, contemporary compositions for such large ensembles. With a host of friends, excellent musicians from Germany, Denmark, Latvia, the USA, Russia, Ukraine, France, Sweden and Austria, they got the project going. The result is the first "Space Big Band" album. The term "space" has a double meaning. Of course, first of all outer space is meant and the history of it's exploration. The two bandleaders, who each composed five pieces for the album, include references to inspirations from Galileo to Hawking, early geology and the origin of the earth, Johannes Kepler and the frequencies of planets, but also to current space missions and the history of our knowledge of the cosmos. But there is also "space" in music. It needs space, space for improvisation and collective music-making, as is typical for a contemporary jazz orchestra. The song titles usually make it clear from where the respective piece draws it's inspiration. Both composers studied and researched their subject areas, but the songs do not tell unambiguous stories.

An exciting, 11-piece + guests, electric jazz / jazz-rock ensemble active in Paris since 2005, Ghost Rhythms have released four previous studio albums. They began their relationship with Cuneiform Records in 2019 with the acclaimed album Live at Yoshiwara. "The fluid exchanges reveal how carefully considered both the harmonic and rhythmic interplay are between musicians and how each chart plays to the strengths of one particular musician or subgroup. Despite the musical sophistication and adventure on Live at Yoshiwara, this music is extremely accessible to a wide swathe of listeners. It's release signals the magnificent arrival of Ghost Rhythms on American shores. Get it now." - AllMusic

Dream Theater/Live at the Marquee ....import CD $15.99
CD reissue. A 1993 recording from the iconic Marquee Club in Soho, London, featuring LaBrie, Myung, Portnoy and Petrucci in their usual roles but with Kevin Moore on keyboards. What really stands out on this live recording is the incredible sound quality, which really captures the scope of Mike Portnoy's amazing drumming (the depth of his drumkit sound) and James LaBrie's fantastic voice. This has to be the best live recording in terms of James' voice ever. One track stands out like none other, "Another Hand-The Killing Hand." This song is excellently written, but a combination of mediocre singing and fuzzy production makes the original somewhat tame. Quite possibly this is one of the most powerful vocal performances ever by LaBrie!
Groundhogs/Who Will Save the World ....CD $15.99
The final installment to the trio of masterpieces from the legendary British rock group The Groundhogs gets a reissue. This special reissue features the iconic artwork with sleeve notes and an interview with the original Marvel artist Neal Adams. 'Having scaled such heights, it's perhaps no wonder that 'Who Will Save the World' saw them assuming mythical powers.' - Uncut 'Fighting pollution, over-population and war, McPhee brought in keyboards mellotron and multi-tracked guitars for a dark, disorientating sci-fi journey through a cyanide poisoned Earth' - Mojo
Mike Bloomfield/The Gospel Truth ....2 CD Set $24.99
New two CD set, a combination of rarities, hits & previously unreleased live recordings. Blues Hall of Fame and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Mike Bloomfield is ranked #22 on Rolling Stone's list of "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time." "The best guitar player I ever heard," said Bob Dylan. Michael Bloomfield was one of America's first great white blues guitarists, earning his reputation on the strength of his work in the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. His expressive, fluid solo lines and prodigious technique graced many other projects - most notably Bob Dylan's earliest electric forays - and he also pursued a solo career with variable results. Uncomfortable with the reverential treatment afforded a guitar hero Bloomfield tended to shy away from the spotlight after spending just a few years in it. He maintained a lower-visibility career during the '70s due to his distaste for fame and his worsening drug problems which claimed his life in 1981. During the late '70s Bloomfield recorded for several smaller labels (including Takoma) usually in acoustic settings - authentic and personal. Disc two features a previously unreleased 1971 concert from the archives.
Govt. Mule/Heavy Load Blues [Deluxe Edition] ....2 CD Set $19.99
Heavy Load Blues [Deluxe 2 CD] "Woke up singing a dead man's song..." is the opening line from the Warren Haynes original "Heavy Load," a line of imagery that feels like the beginning of dirt blues. Haynes, the leader of Gov't Mule, hails from a southern rock tradition of scruffy virtuosity. Gov't Mule is Warren's show, and the blues is the informing foundation, personal and universal.
Deep Purple/Turning to Crime ....CD $17.99
After five decades of records made chiefly of original material, Deep Purple's 22nd studio album consists solely of songs written and previously recorded by other artists: a criminal offense commonly described by the rock police and purists Grand Jury as "doing covers." "Turning to Crime" is Deep Purple enjoying playing music without commercial plans nor losing their edge and drive. This is Deep Purple coming full circle. This is 100% Deep Purple.

Paul Gilbert/'Twas ....CD $16.99
Paul Gilbert announces the release of a new seasonal offering titled 'Twas. Gilbert's 17th solo album features a dozen recordings, two of which are new, original compositions. Gilbert shares, "Many will agree that in recent times, challenging events have been pouring down upon our heads like an exploding waterfall of molasses. At least it sometimes feels like that to me. But while I was jamming Christmas songs with my friends, playing an assortment of red, green, and white Ibanez electric guitars, I felt like life was the best. I hope that this music can put a smile on your face as well. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night." The track listing features a variety of Christmas chestnuts, and two new Paul Gilbert originals: "Every Christmas Has Love"and "Three Stings for Christmas." Gilbert offers, "Ten of the songs are classics. I was inspired by the Christmas recordings of Nat King Cole, Loretta Lynn, Stevie Wonder, Barbra Streisand, Johnny Mathis, Ella Fitzgerald, and The Ventures. And of course, inspiration came from my guitar heroes, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Lifeson, Johnny Winter, Robin Trower, Frank Marino, Pat Travers, Jimi Hendrix, and Jimmy Page, to name a few. I also wrote some of my own new Christmas songs. As I have been doing recently, I begin with lyrics and a melody. Then I let my guitar take over, as it sings better than I do."

Stewart's third album recorded with Alan Parsons, 'Time Passages' followed the hugely successful platinum-selling 'Year of the Cat.' Recorded at the close of 1977 and during the early months of 1978 at Davlen Studios in Los Angeles, 'Time Passages' was an album of as much immense musical inventiveness. Despite pressure to produce an equally successful follow-up record, Al Stewart rose to the occasion with 'Time Passages,' an album that was as musically inventive and creative as its predecessor, a triumph both in terms of Al Stewart's song writing and the stunning and sophisticated production by Alan Parsons. Featuring such classic songs as 'Valentina Way,' 'Life in Dark Water,' 'The Palace of Versailles,' 'Timeless Skies,' 'Almost Lucy' and the classic title track, 'Time Passages' was another commercial and critical success on its release, reaching the US Billboard Top Ten and the UK Top 40. Octarine Sky/Close to Nearby ....CD $17.99
The new band, Octarine Sky, formed during the creation of the album Close to Nearby as the shared vision of pianist and vocalist Dyanne Potter Voegtlin, the legendary drummer, Simon Phillips, and bassist and producer Jan Christiana became apparent. Close to Nearby is indeed a true collaboration; all three play several instruments on the album, all three contributed to the arrangement of the songs, all three composed parts for every song. And the result? A wide-reaching sound that's artistically adventurous, driving and forceful, yet at certain moments also haunting and vulnerable. Close to Nearby by Octarine Sky offers both instrumental virtuosity and beautiful, lush vocal harmonies while the rhythm section of Phillips and Christiana provide magnificent power and groove. Add to that the artistry of the two superlative guitarists, Guthrie Govan and Amit Chatterjee, and the outcome is the rich and riveting listening experience that is Close to Nearby. From the first compelling note of the album-opening "One," an arrangement of the first movement of the Piano Sonata #1 by Alberto Ginastera, through the cinematic "Night Sky / Into the Dream" featuring Guthrie Govan, the heavy fusion of "5," to the atonal virtuosic masterpiece of "VII," an arrangement for full band of a piano solo by Julia Schwartz, to the evocative and hopeful ending song, "Hold" featuring Amit Chatterjee, the album is ambitious in both it's concept and sound. Octarine Sky's debut album Close to Nearby is a vibrant and captivating sonorous adventure from beginning to end.
Curved Air/Midnight Wire ....import CD $24.99
Digitally remastered edition from Repertoire. Midnight Wire is the fifth studio album by Curved Air and was recorded in 1975. It marked another line-up change in the band, with Darryl Way and Sonja Kristina recruiting new musicians after the end of the reunion tour marked by the Curved Air - Live album. Kristina's friend Norma Tager, who had helped design the costumes she wore on stage from Curved Air's reunion in 1974 to their breakup in 1976, contributed all the lyrics to the songs. The album's recording was marked by intense and bitter arguments between the band and producers Ron and Howard Albert, who often vehemently criticized the band members.
Curved Air/Airborne ....import CD $24.99
Digitally remastered edition from Repertoire. Airborne is the sixth studio album by Curved Air and was recorded in 1976. Like their last few releases, it was not a significant commercial success. After a follow-up non-album single, "Baby Please Don't Go" b/w "Broken Lady," the group disbanded. Drummer Stewart Copeland went on to form The Police, while violinist Darryl Way and lead singer Sonja Kristina both pursued solo careers. Bassist Tony Reeves and guitarist Mick Jacques both later became members of the semi-professional band Big Chief. The Police covered "Kids to Blame" in early performances, using a stripped-down punk arrangement of the song. Stewart Copeland also reused a guitar riff from "Desiree" in his solo single as Klark Kent, "Don't Care."
Syn/Flowerman: Rare Blooms from the Syn ....import CD $19.99
An anthology of all surviving '60s recordings by The Syn, key players on the London summer-of-'67 underground circuit and the starting point for prog legends Yes. Active from late 1965 as an Action-style mod/Motown band, The Syn embraced psychedelia with some legendary theatrical shows during their Marquee Club residency and a brace of flower-power singles for Deram before slowly evolving into Yes. Those four Deram sides - 'Created by Clive,' 'Grounded,' 'Flowerman' and '14 Hour Technicolour Dream' - are joined by a clutch of rare recordings from the period, including a five-minute rehearsal excerpt of stage favourite 'The Gangster Opera,' an earlier recording of 'Flowerman,' a pre- Deram acetate of the unissued-at-the-time 'Merry-Go-Round' and two tracks by pre-Syn band The Selfs. The CD also includes some post-Syn recordings, including a brace of songwriting demos by singer Steve Nardelli, keyboardist Andrew Pryce Jackman and bassist Chris Squire as they attempted to set up a production company at the height of Squire's success with Yes. With a foreword by Phil Collins (a huge fan during their Marquee days), many previously unpublished photos and a new 5000 word essay, 'Flowerman' is an essential purchase for admirers of both vintage British psychedelia and the band Yes.

The show was recorded live on May 5, 2019 and showcases the performance that Alan Parsons Live Project held at the Tivoli in Utrecht, Netherlands. The band was, as usual, in fine form and was fed extra energy by an enthusiastic audience. An amazing performance by quite possibly the definitive band line-up of exemplary musicians that Alan has toured with. As an added treat, the album includes a brand new studio song, "The NeverEnding Show" which offers a hint of the new studio album that Alan is currently working on for release in 2022.
Grateful Dead/Fox Theatre, St. Louis, MO 12/10/71 [Live] ....3 CD Set $34.99
Complete, previously unreleased performance by the Grateful Dead. Plangent Processes tape restoration and speed correction, with mastering by Jeffrey Norman, Produced for release by David Lemieux. One of the shortest-lived iterations of the Grateful Dead was the band that existed December 1971 through March 1972. Jerry, Bob, Phil, Bill, Pigpen, and Keith formed a formidable version of the Dead that only played a few shows together before Donna Jean joined as vocalist, and before Pigpen would depart the stage for good in June 1972. What this sextet lacked in quantity of shows it made up for with creativeness, power, and inspiration. When Pigpen rejoined the Dead on December 1, 1971, after a few months off during which Keith had joined as piano player, the band was now an unstoppably powerful live juggernaut it hadn't been since the height of the Primal Dead era in late 1968-1969. Widely considered one of the best shows from the Pigpen-Keith era of the Grateful Dead, December 10, 1971 in St. Louis has it all: Pigpen singing lead on four songs including an 18 minute version of Good Lovin' and a very rare performance of Run Rudolph Run; a deep dive into the Dead's psychedelic recent past with a monster version of The Other One; plus plenty of the new material from earlier in 1971 like Bertha, Loser, Sugaree, and Playing in the Band. They also hit upon much of the music that would appear the following year on Europe '72, such as Jack Straw, Tennessee Jed, Mr. Charlie, and One More Saturday Night. And no Dead show of this vintage would be complete without the "hits": Truckin', Sugar Magnolia, and Casey Jones all make appearances. This is truly one of the deepest, most dynamic, exciting, and accessible live shows in the entire Grateful Dead canon.

Nektar/The Other Side [Deluxe Edition] ....import CD + DVD $26.99
Esoteric Antenna is delighted to announce the release of the stunning new studio album by the legendary band Nektar. Throughout the 1970s Nektar released a series of acclaimed albums, scoring chart success in Germany (where the British band was based) and later in the USA (where the band relocated). Following the passing of original guitarist / vocalist Roye Albrighton in 2016, fellow founder members Derek "Mo" Moore (bass, vocals), Ron Howden (drums, vocals) & Mick Brockett (lyrics, visual conceptions) reunited along with Randy Dembo (bass, 12-string guitar), Ryche Chlanda (guitar, vocals) & Kendall Scott (keyboards) to begin work on a new album. Ryche Chlanda originally recorded with Nektar in 1978, and for "The Other Side" the band updated some of those ideas which evolved in the basement of Mo Moore's house in Chatham, New Jersey. Ron Howden, Mo and Ryche collaborated on much of the music heard on the album. The 1978 unrecorded song 'Skypilot' has evolved into 'Skywriter' in 2020. 'I'm on Fire' is the musical adaptation of a poem written by Mo for his soon-to-be wife, Nicki, during that same time period of 1978. The closing track, 'Devil's Door,' was originally performed live in 1974, but never featured on a Nektar album. Updated and recorded for this album, the song features the presence of the late Roye Albrighton on the introduction to the track, whose wonderful guitar part was taken from a live soundboard recording made in 1974. Kendall Scott's distinctive & versatile keyboard presence has enhanced this considerably, whilst Randy Dembo, who originally joined Nektar in 2004, brings a uniting presence on 12-string and bass guitars, rounding out the instrumental arrangements. Ron Howden has been a continual driving force of the band, weathering all versions of Nektar since its conception in 1969. With Mick Brockett now back in the fold (with his visual concepts and ideas as an essential part of the band making the music and light theatre a reality). "The Other Side" is a stunning album from a legendary band. This new Deluxe Edition includes an NTSC Region Free DVD with 'The Making of The Other Side,' a documentary about the making of the album and the reunion of Nektar.

Steve Vai/The Ultra Zone ....import CD $15.99
When listening to his compositions it's easy to appreciate the influence of his years of stewardship with Frank Zappa, Vai's mentor. With the 1999 'Ultra Zone' Vai released a broad-reaching effort that ranges from the eccentric "Lucky Charms" to the devastatingly heavy "Oooo...," from the serenity of "Windows to the Soul" to the raucous Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute "Jibboom." The entire album is a truly progressive rock experience and has an amazing flow from one song to the next. There's plenty of Steve's lightning fast playing and some really good R&B theme-age. Standout tracks are 'Frank,' 'Windows to the Soul,' 'The Silent Within' and 'Lucky Charms' the most Zappa-inspired piece on the album.
Joe Satriani/Joe Satriani ....import CD $15.99
Joe Satriani is one of the most influential guitarists in the world. Early in his career, "Satch" worked as a guitar instructor, with many of his former students achieving fame, such as Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett, and Alex Skolnick. He is a 15-time Grammy Award nominee and has sold over 10 million albums, making him the biggest-selling instrumental rock guitarist of all time. This is not the Joe Satriani we hear on most of his recordings, but this is rich, bluesy, well done and more in common with Stevie Ray Vaughn. Every track has licks you wish you could go back and listen to in slow motion. The tunes has a much more 'live' feel than before, and the musicians know how to add flair to a tune while still spot-lighting "Satch" as a guitarist.
Steve Roach & Michael Stearns/Beyond Earth & Sky ....CD $17.99
Twenty-six years after their noted collaboration Kiva, American electronic music originators Steve Roach and Michael Stearns' orbits return to a point on the horizon between and beyond worlds. Their mastery of tactile sonic environments meld into boundary-defying music creating a language of transcending and transformative experiences. These seven captivating tracks are born from a devotion to the power of sound. Within realms of elemental, primordial, celestial and deep emotion, the enveloping influence found within the natural world of forests, deserts, canyons, mountains and the beyond. Meeting in Los Angeles in the late '70s, Steve and Michael lived a few blocks from each other in neighborhoods separated by Venice Blvd. They collaborated in those early days - ripe formative years of the developing American electronic music scene. As their individual lives and careers unfolded, Michael became a successful film composer, known for passionate soundtrack work on director Ron Fricke's Chronos, Baraka and Samsara, while Steve went on to create many pioneering electronic/ambient classics including Structures from Silence, Quiet Music and Dreamtime Return and now has a discography of well over 150 albums. "Checking in deeply after decades apart," Steve reflects, "Michael and I found we both chose to live in places away from cities, close to the natural world. Out my window, I look seventy-five miles to the horizon, horizon is home. We're both at home in our element, present in one's self while focused on something far in the distance, moving towards it, pulling us out there." From the moment we enter into the realm of Earth & Sky to the moment we depart it, the space beyond calls to us, guiding the unfolding of our lives. Through music we hear that call, transcending the day to day and ordinary states of awareness, Beyond Earth and Sky.

Epitaph, the '70s German prog rock band, recorded an album named "Lost in the City" back in 1986. As this was a mixture of '80s hard rock, meeting blues and influences from the great era of British rock, marked by such names as Led Zeppelin, King Crimson and Thin Lizzy, they felt that the old band name no longer fitted, so they changed it to Kingdom.

Carlos Santana with Sadao Watanabe/Live Under the Sky '91 ....import 2 CD Set $29.99
By 1991 the band Santana had evolved from Latin organ and percussion grooves through trippy jazz-fusion and arrived at a form of high energy latin soul/rock. It's a journey few watching them at Woodstock in 1969 would have predicted. Twenty-two years and countless albums later Carlos Santana himself was the only original member present in Tokyo. A close friend of Miles Davis and devotee of John Coltrane, he had regularly incorporated elements of jazz into his music, so it is no surprise to see Japan's greatest living saxophonist, Sadao Watanabe, added here. For his part Watanabe is happy to play latin, funk and fusion, his solos easily matching Santana's overdriven guitar for invention and energy. The tunes are taken from the Santana albums Freedom (1987) and Spirits Dancing in the Flesh (1990) as well as classics from their LPs Abraxas (1970) and Amigos (1976). Performed at the Nippon Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 21st May 1991 and broadcast on NHK radio.
Graham Collier/British Conversations ....import CD $32.99
To commemorate the 10th year since the passing of esteemed British jazz composer, bassist and bandleader Graham Collier, My Only Desire Records presents this 1975 recording of his previously unreleased suite 'British Conversations.' The recording features lead soloists trumpeter Harry Beckett and guitarist Ed Speight, alongside The Swedish Radio Jazz Group - made up of the hottest players on the '70s Scandi jazz scene - including saxophonists Arne Domnerus, Claes Rosendahl and Lennart Aberg, trumpeter Jan Allan, pianist Bengt Hallberg, guitarist Rune Gustafsson and drummer Egil Johansen. Collier steers the band through the five-part suite that encompasses beautifully composed melodies, driving jazz rock and as many extremes as the British weather that inspired it's name.
Stackridge/Stackridge 50: Recordings 1971 - 2021 ....import 3 CD Set $22.99
Stackridge were a British rock group which had its greatest success in the early 1970s. They were one of the most under rated bands of all times. On the afternoon of August 19th 1971 an event took place in the garden of The Chelsea Arts Club, South Kensington, London, which was billed as ''A Summer Garden Party.'' The invited guests were a mix of music business luminaries - agents, managers, record company executives, venue promoters, music paper journalists and musicians from the world's of rock and pop. At 6.30pm a group of musicians sauntered onto the lawn, plugged in their instruments and began to play perhaps the strangest tunes that these jaded ears had ever heard. Sadly they only managed three numbers before the club's management asked them to stop as they had received so many phone call complaints about the ''noise'' from the neighbors. The name of the band was Stackridge. This three CD release is a celebration of 50 years, with a collection of the band's favorite tracks.
Regal Worm/Hideous Goblink ....import CD $22.99
The worm has (re) turned! And this time the Regal Worm (Jarrod Gosling of I Monster, Cobalt Chapel) is tackling The Hideous Goblink, an album painstakingly created by one solitary man ensconced in his darkened, tiny sky parlour of awe, wonder, and heaps of dusty old gear. Regal Worm's mission is putting a 'ggressive' back into progressive. Getting grubby with the ghosts of the old gods.
Fractal Mirror/Beyond Borders ....import CD $22.99
Beyond Borders' sees Fractal Mirror exploring their progressive rock roots, with the seventeen-minute epic 'Ashes' in particular displaying all the hallmarks of a classic prog epic, though the more song-oriented stylings of previous album 'Close to Vapour' are still very much in evidence in the band's sound.

Edition] ....import 3 CD Set $32.99
Be Bop Deluxe/Live! In the Air Age 1970-1973 [Deluxe Limited Edition] ....import 15 CD + DVD Box Set $142.99
Esoteric Recordings is proud to announce a new re-mastered super-deluxe expanded boxed set limited edition release (comprising 15 CDs and a DVD) and a new remastered and expanced three CD edition of Live! In the Air Age by Be Bop Deluxe. This legendary live album was released in July 1977 and would prove to be the band's most successful album, peaking at number 10 in the UK charts. The album was issued at a time of growing commercial success for the band and followed on the heels of two highly acclaimed studio albums in thirteen months, Sunburst Finish and Modern Music, both of which reached the top twenty of the UK album charts. Live! In the Air Age would be the band's only live record and was recorded on a series of dates in the UK in February and March 1977 on the Rolling Stones mobile unit with John Leckie, who had engineered co-produced the band's previous two albums, supervising the location recordings. The band's UK tour began in late January and was an audio-visual extravaganza that featured the use of projection screens and excerpts from the 1927 German silent film Metropolis, director Fritz Lang's striking science fiction masterpiece. Continuing into February, the first concert to be recorded was at the de Montfort Hall in Leicester on the 12th of that month. The following two nights saw concerts at the Grand Theatre in Leeds which were both captured on tape and saw Bill Nelson perform to an enthusiastic home audience. However, at this juncture fate would intervene to cause a postponement to the remainder of the tour. Travelling to a concert in Bristol on 15th February 1977, Bill Nelson and John Leckie were involved in a car accident which resulted in them being hospitalized at Huddersfield Infirmary. Thankfully, all involved recovered quickly from their injuries, but as a result of the accident, the remaining concerts were postponed until the end of March. The tour began again with two concerts at Hammersmith Odeon in London on March 25th and 26th 1977 which revealed the band to be on top form, feeding off the tremendous warmth of the audience. Further shows in Bristol and Bournemouth on the 27th and 28th March respectively also contained many fine moments. Bill Nelson and John Leckie selected the best performances for mixing at Abbey Road and Advision studios in London and Live! In the Air Age was released in July 1977. Research of all of the Be Bop Deluxe master tapes revealed that multi track tapes of all the shows recorded on the UK tour of 1977 had survived. After digitizing and listening through to all of the Rolling Stones mobile unit 24-track tapes it was decided to include each concert in it's entirety in this expanded boxed set. The concerts were mixed over a period of several months by Stephen W. Tayler and are presented here for the very first time. They reveal the improvisational side of Be Bop Deluxe, particularly on pieces such as Shine and Blazing Apostles which made each concert unique. This set features the original album, newly remastered from the original master tapes, and restores the correct running order of the original LP release and has three bonus tracks drawn from a BBC Radio One John Peel Show session from January 1977. This box also adds an NTSC / Region Free DVD of Star Rider in Concert - Be Bop Deluxe, which was first screened on television in 1977 and appears exclusively in this boxed set for the first time. Finally, this limited-edition boxed set includes an illustrated 68-page book with many previously unseen photographs and an essay of recollections by Bill Nelson. Additionally, the set includes postcards and a replica poster. This special deluxe limited-edition boxed set of Live! In the Air Age is a fitting tribute to a fine live band and the creative vision of Bill Nelson. The 3CD set features the original album, newly remastered from the original master tapes, and restores the correct running order of the original LP release and has three bonus tracks drawn from a BBC Radio One John Peel Show session from January 1977. Importantly, this 3 CD edition includes the entire concert recorded at Hammersmith Odeon in London on 26th March 1977, one of the stand-out concerts from that memorable tour, which has been newly mixed by Stephen W. Tayler and is presented here for the very first time. This edition includes an illustrated booklet with many photographs and an essay of recollections by Bill Nelson.

Albert Bouchard/Imaginos II: Bombs Over Germany (Minus Zero and Counting) ....CD $16.99
Albert Bouchard is best known as one of the founding members of Blue Oyster Cult. As a songwriter, he wrote many BOC songs including the very popular "Astronomy" and the live staple "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll" on which he also sang lead vocals. "Imaginos 2 - Bombs Over Germany (Minus Zero and Counting)" sees Albert continuing the Trilogy of Imaginos, a concept album about an alien conspiracy that is brought to fruition during the late 19th and early 20th century through the actions of Imaginos, an agent of evil. The album weaves scripts and poems by the late Sandy Pearlman. It features guests Ross the Boss (Dictators), Joe Cerisano (Silver Condor, TSO), and reunites original Blue Oyster Cult members Eric Bloom, Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser and Joe Bouchard, as well current BOC member Richie Castellano, who all contribute to this latest installment. The album also features reworks of classics like "Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll," "The Red and the Black" and "Dominance and Submission."
Bill Bruford's Earthworks/All Heaven Broke Loose ....import CD $20.99
Reissue of long out-of-print album by drummer Bill Bruford's Earthworks. Arguably Earthworks Mark I's most fully realized studio release, even as it moves towards a more abstract aesthetic. Includes live performances of the African-influenced 'Libreville' and the more atmospheric 'Pilgrim's Way,' both originally released on 'Dig?,' demonstrating how Earthworks was able to rework and open up the material in performance.
Caravan/It's None of Your Business ....import CD $19.99
First new studio album in eight years, Caravan, one of the darlings of the progressive rock and 'Canterbury' scenes, formed in 1968 blending rock, jazz, folk and classical influences into a warm and distinctive sound. Their previous 14 studio albums and numerous live recordings have seen them attract a large and faithful following. The band toured regularly until the restrictions of the covid-19 pandemic. Founder member Pye Hastings (guitar/vocals) remains as Caravan's guiding light and primary songwriter. Geoffrey Richardson (viola, mandolin, guitar) first played with Caravan between 1972 - 1981 and returned to the fold in 1995, Jan Schelhaas (keyboards) & Mark Walker (drums) complete the band with Lee Pomeroy (ELO, Rick Wakeman & Take That) guesting as bass player following the departure of Jim Leverton while Jimmy Hastings also guests on flute. 'It's None of Your Business' is Caravan's first album since 'Paradise Filter' (2013) and features nine new songs plus one instrumental track influenced to a degree by the events and restrictions placed on society over the past 18 months. The album was recorded, as restrictions allowed, 'in the old-fashioned way' between 24th June and 4th July 2021 at Rimshot Studio, Bredgar near Sittingbourne. "Sitting round in a circle having eye to eye contact, a large sound room was required," Pye Hastings explained. "I much prefer this method because you can bounce ideas off each other as they occur with voice encouragement when the whole thing begins to click. And it is much more rewarding to be able to throw insults at each other in person rather than down a telephone line or via email. This is something we are all very experienced at, believe me!"

Colosseum/Live in Germany ....import 2 CD + DVD Set $44.99
Limited three disc (two CDs + NTSC/Region 0 DVD) edition from Repertoire. Whenever Colosseum toured Germany in their early days, one of the most important engagements was an appearance on the top TV rock show Beat Club. It gave them a chance to play live in front of a studio audience and reach millions of viewers, which helped establish their enduring fanbase. Performances captured in the Bremen TV studios are among the Colosseum classics on this exciting new set. Here is the band led by genius drummer Jon Hiseman featuring James Litherland, Dave Greenslade, Clem Clempson, Mark Clarke, Chris Farlowe and Dick Heckstall-Smith, with a guest appearance by Barbara Thompson on flute. See and hear them storm through 'Walking in the Park,' 'The Machine Demands a Sacrifice,' 'Take Me Back to Doomsday,' and 'Tanglewood '63' from Beat Club, and revel in powerful performances such as the epic 'Valentyne Suite' and 'Lost Angeles' from their concerts in Frankfurt and Vienna. Complete with liner notes by Repertoire's Chris Welch and interviews with band members, this is another essential album for all Colosseum and prog rock fans.

create Something with a Pulse, a tribute to Mark to help defray his medical expenses.

David Crosby/If Only I Could Remember My Name [50th Anniversary Edition] ....2 CD Set $24.99
Singer-songwriter David Crosby's solo debut, If I Could Only Remember My Name, was dismissed by critics when it came out in 1971. Over the years, however, appreciation has grown for the album's adventurous aesthetic, stacked harmonies and haunting lyrics about loss and confusion. Billed as Crosby's solo debut, the album was anything but a one-man project. Instead, it was one of his most collaborative efforts, featuring an all-star cast of players that included members of the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Santana, along with Graham Nash, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, and others. If I Could Only Remember My Name turned 50 earlier this year and Rhino is celebrating with a 2-CD set that includes the album lovingly remastered from the original analog tapes, accompanied by a bonus disc that features a dozen unreleased demos, outtakes, and alternative versions. The new remaster was overseen by original album engineer Stephen Barncard with restoration and speed correction using Plangent Processes.
Miles Davis/The Lost Concert ....2 CD Set $23.99
Venue: La Grande Halle, La Villette, Paris, France - Date: 10th July 1991. Miles was renowned for never revisiting the past even though many fans, critics and concert promoters always hoped that he would. Then in July 1991 Miles went back. Miles arrived at Paris to play this special gig. It was simply advertised as "Miles and Friends" and neither the audience nor Miles' band had any idea on what they were about to witness. Playing with Miles was an amazing roll-call of past musical associates from the 1950s, '60s, '70s and '80s: Chick Corea, Bill Evans, Al Foster, Steve Grossman, Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Darryl Jones, John McLaughlin, Jackie McLean, John Scofield and Joe Zawinul. Miles' band members were Kenny Garrett, Foley, Deron Johnson, Richard Patterson and Ricky Wellman. This is the final volume of the Miles Davis "Lost" series (double CD). This time it's a lost concert he recorded in Paris just 3 months before he died.
Tim Finn & Phil Manzanera/Caught by the Heart ....import CD $29.99
Caught by the Heart is the multi-genre debut collaboration album from two titans of British and New Zealand music, Tim Finn (Split Enz / Crowded House) and Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music / 801). Delivering rock, pop, prog, Latin, reggae, classical, and chamber orchestra style pieces, nothing was off limits to the intrepid duo (all drawn from Phil's extensive musical palette, inspired by his love of music regardless of where it comes from). Phil's musical imagination combined with Tim's extraordinary, literate and well observed lyrics - as well as the phenomenal range of international guest musicians - has resulted in a sophisticated, shapeshifting album.
Fragile/Beyond ....import CD $26.99
UK prog rock band Fragile, who feature Claire Hamill and That Joe Payne guitarist Oliver Day, are releasing a brand new studio album Beyond. The band also appeared at the Yes 50th anniversary celebrations at London's Palladium in 2018. "The album is largely inspired by '70s Yes music and also many other classical and symphonic influences," says the band. "The album is made up of over 50 minutes of new music in the form of three songs: Beyond, Yours and Mine and The Golden Ring of Time. Fragile, who are completed by drummer Russ Wilson and bassist/keyboardist Max Hunt, released their first album of original material, Golden Fragments, in 2020.
Gentle Giant/Free Hand [5.1 & 2.0 Steven Wilson Mix] ....CD
+ Blu-Ray $21.99
Gentle Giant/Free Hand [Steven Wilson Mix] ....CD $15.99
Free Hand was Gentle Giant's seventh album originally released in July 1975. This album was the most commercially successful of the band's career reaching the top 40 albums in Billboard Magazine. It stands as the culmination of the band's maturity, following the successes of In a Glass House and The Power & the Glory. Having toured Europe & North America non-stop in the years prior to this release with artists like Jethro Tull, Yes, Zappa etc, the band had gone from strength to strength. By the time Freehand was released Gentle Giant had become a major headliner in its own right. All the members were multi-instrumentalists. The band were never afraid of surprising an audience with a 4 part recorder ensemble followed by a vibraphone solo all the while rocking the audience and thoroughly enjoying themselves onstage at the same time. Gentle Giant albums featured many songs with both literary subjects as well as social and personal commentary on life as rock musicians. Free Hand has more than most. The title of the album and first track were so named as the band had just changed record labels and management and felt unshackled by prior contractual obligations. Putting these issues behind them upon it's first release, Gentle Giant embarked on an extensive tour of North America and Europe, plus a short tour of the UK, to promote the album. The incredible range of Gentle Giant's music is evident hroughout this album. From the intricate vocal fretwork of On Reflection and the delicate medieval flavor of Talybont the Celtic-tinged rock of Time to Kill and the jagged rhythms of Just the Same all those diverse elements which made the band so strikingly original are skillfully blended and perfectly executed. Award winning producer and musician Steven Wilson has added his delicate touch in remixing Free Hand in Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound. His tonal range and painstaking attention to sound quality make Free Hand sound as fresh today as it did on first release. A fitting tribute to the compositional skills and expertise of five dedicated musicians. Steven Wilson's remixed version of Freehand will be released in Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround sound accompanied by custom animated visuals for each track on Blu-ray. In addition, the original flat mix, original 1975 quad mix and an instrumental mix will all be included in a Digipack CD.

Peter Hammill/In Translation ....import CD 16.99
For the first time ever, Peter has recorded a collection of cover versions. The songs come from a variety of musical worlds: Classical, American Songbook, Italian Pop and Tango. In all but three cases Peter has also translated the songs, from Italian, French and German. As strange a project as this might seem, there's an overall sense of cohesiveness to it and it's absolutely of this time. Two songs have lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein; the music for one is by Jerome Kern, the other by Richard Rodgers. Leiber and Stoller provided lyrics for "I Who Have Nothing," originally an Italian tune. Three Italian songs are at the core of the album, written (and originally performed) by Fabrizio de Andre, Luigi Tenco and Piero Ciampi. The two tango pieces were composed by Astor Piazzolla. Finally, there are two classical songs, respectively by Faure and Mahler. In Peter's own words... "This collection seems to fit together as a group, not least because most of these songs are to do with measures of dislocation, of loss, of some kind of imagined or anticipated future which didn't arrive. I was unfamiliar with several of these songs before I began this project. One discovery led on to another in some kind of paper trail. The back stories to the songs are interesting and some of the writers and singers had a spectacularly dramatic time of things. I doff my hat to these sometimes complicated lives. My approach has always been to make cultural rather than strictly linguistic translations, so that the spirit of the song rather than its precise narrative is rendered. I hope I've addressed the material, the writers, the original performers, with due and proper respect. Inevitably though there's spin here: mine all mine. Finally, these recordings were made, of course, in the time of Covid and lockdown. But also in the knowledge that Brexit - in all its horror - was fast approaching. So these performances of, for the most part, European songs were my last as a European singer, with all the rights and privileges that has brought me for so many years."
Help Yourself/Passing Through: Complete Studio Recordings [Remastered] ....import 6 CD Set $59.99
Over four decades on, Help Yourself are now regarded as one of the great, unsung British bands of their era and the songs of Malcolm Morley are recognized as true treasures. 'Passing Through - The Complete Studio Recordings' is a six CD set by a band who took their influences from American West Coast Country and Acid Rock, they featured Malcolm Morley (guitars, keyboards, vocals), former Sam Apple Pie member Dave Charles (drums, percussion, vocals), Richard Treece (guitars, vocals, harmonica) and Ken Whaley (bass); the band signed to United Artists in 1970 and their eponymous debut album was issued in 1971. King Crimson/The Elements Tour Box 2021 ....2 CD Box Set $24.99
This on-going tour box series continues the opportunity to present King Crimson's music in slightly unexpected ways and, hopefully, to shed some new light on the band and it's music along the way. For this 2021 compilation, and perhaps appropriately for a band that has sported a three drummer line-up seated at the front of the stage since 2014, disc one features tracks which showcase KC's rich history of drummers and percussionists, while Sid Smith's liner notes also focus on the drummers. Disc two takes a slightly more song based detour through all eras of Crim history ending, as concerts have since 2014, with Starless. Both discs feature plenty of historic material and lots of live material by the current band and both also feature a sneak exclusive track/edit from the forthcoming, much anticipated, Robert Fripp "Exposures" multi-disc boxed set.

Pat Metheny/Side-Eye NYC [V1.IV] ....CD $16.99
Pat explains, "I wanted to create an ongoing platform to host a rotating cast of the newer generations of musicians who have particularly caught my interest along the way. From my earliest days in Kansas City onward, I was the beneficiary of so many older musicians hiring me, which gave me a chance to develop through the prism of their experiences and the particular demands of what their music implied." Metheny has given this band concept the name Side-Eye and hopes that it might become a rotating group of musicians who could come and go in different combinations. So far, there have been four iterations, hence the V.1-IV sub-heading on the record. Whether searingly electric, powerfully intense or deeply contemplative, highly composed or totally improvised, or even with some new-fangled contraption of his own design, there is always that unmistakable Metheny sensibility at work that has stood at the forefront of jazz for what is now approaching five decades. The Side-Eye series is the latest chapter in his continually unfolding story.
Neal Morse Band/Innocence & Danger ....2 CD Set
Neal Morse Band/Innocence & Danger [Limited Deluxe Edition] ....2 CD + DVD Set $27.99
Neal Morse Band/Innocence & Danger ....2 CD + 3 Vinyl LP Box Set $65.99
NMB are pleased to announce the release of their much-anticipated fourth studio album Innocence & Danger. With NMB's previous two releases being concept albums, it's perhaps remarkable that Innocence & Danger is a series of unrelated songs, but drummer Mike Portnoy says "After two sprawling back to back double concept albums in a row, it was refreshing to get back to writing a collection of unrelated individual songs in the vein of our first album." Indeed, making this album came easy to the band; while the initial inspiration came particularly from Bill Hubauer (keyboards) and Randy George (bass), the ideas flowed from everybody from there on, as George recalls: "I am excited about the level of collaboration that we achieved on this one. We even went in with a lot of ideas that weren't necessarily developed, and I think in the end we have something that represents the best of everybody in the band." In fact - like its two acclaimed predecessors - Innocence & Danger is a double album by inspiration, rather than design, as Portnoy explains: "As much as we wanted to try and keep it to a single album after having just done two double albums, we wrote so much material that we found ourselves with our third double album in a row! That's pretty prog!" There is also plenty: "There's one half hour epic and another that's about 20 minutes long. I really didn't realize that they were that long when we were recording them, which I guess is great because if a movie is really good, you don't realize that it's three hours long! But there are also some shorter songs: some have poppier elements, some are heavier and some have three part acoustic sections. I'm excited about all of it, really." The album will be released as a limited 2 CD + DVD digipak (featuring a Making Of documentary), 3 LP + 2 CD boxset and standard 2 CD jewelcase featuring artwork by Thomas Ewerhard (Transatlantic).
Mostly Autumn/Graveyard Star ....import CD $23.99
This album is a deep, heartfelt reflection of how we were feeling through 2020 / 2021, a documentation of living through the pandemic. Although a lot of the sadness and otherworldliness was personal to us, I'm sure many will relate to the content. There was simply no other inspiration present, only to write and put into music life as we felt it. We truly believe that the song-to-song strength of this work could be our finest to date, it has been 18 months in the making and the longest studio schedule we have ever experienced. The icing on the cake comes from Troy Donockley of Nightwish and Chris Leslie of Fairport Convention who guest beautifully on the album.

Pinder Brothers/Melancholy Sea ....CD $15.99
The Pinder Brothers' new 'Melancholy Sea' makes waves with sing-a-long melodies and crafty alt-rock rrrangements. Sons of Moody Blues founding member Mike Pinder carry on the tradition, as their own SoCal followers continue to burgeon. The Pinder Brothers may not be the first pair of siblings to proffer an intrinsic fusion of vocal harmonies, but add to the mix crafty sing-a-long melodies and enough of a rock edge to engage the masses. That is the musical mantra of these brothers in arms' third full-length release "Melancholy Sea." Of course, the many current fans of Matthew and Michael Lee are already aware of one other essential factor. Let's call it pedigree. Their dad Mike Pinder was a founding member of the legendary Moody Blues, who not only fulfilled the enduring band's mellotron duties, but also contributed harmony vocals. The Pinder Brothers mesh the harmonies of Crosby, Stills and Nash alongside the songwriting style of Simon & Garfunkel, and ultimately add their own modern spin. Listeners will hear all of this and more in "Melancholy Sea," which the pair wrote, played and arranged. The project's masterfully penned lyrics create a sonic tapestry that dazzles the ear....much like the colors of a seashell inspire the eye. The brothers' voices harmonize beautifully, accompanied by arrangements that deftly ease from a bed of crunchy electric guitars into warm overdriven tones that layer as naturally as sheets and a blanket. It could be said that The Pinder Brothers have '60s Brit-rock heritage in their DNA, with a healthy dose of California style thrown in. Hailing from Northern California, Matt and Michael Pinder grew up playing music and performing together whenever possible. How could they not, with the sounds of the lost chord echoing softly in their ears. Thankfully, Mike Pinder's innate talent has been passed on to his sons - who are now creating their own legacy.

Andy Summers/Harmonics of the Night ....import CD $18.99
'Harmonics of the Night' is the third in what he conceived of as a trilogy of recordings from guitarist Andy Summers. Following on from 'Metal Dog' and 'Triboluminescence,' 'Harmonics of the Night' began it's life as a guitar improvisation for a museum installation of Andy's own photos. He did not like the music they had chosen in the gallery so sat down and recorded some guitar improvisations. Summers says that he built this set out from there. These songs and the photos that inspired them have become a staple of his solo guitar shows. Stand out tracks: 'A Certain Strangeness,' 'Harmonics of the Night' and 'City of Crocodiles.' The album will be released to accompany a new exhibition of his photos at the Leica Gallery, Mayfair starting on October 21st. Andy explains more about the album - The music for Harmonics of the Night came from a real-life situation, which was the occasion of a retrospective exhibition of my photography at the Pavilion Populaire in Montpellier. I was able to visit the museum in advance of the opening and decided this time (instead of the usual unsuitable music being played by the whatever gallery!) that I must make a music installation to accompany the photography on the wall, a piece that could be looped and thus provide a continual musical counterpoint to the visual. I made a twenty-minute single guitar improvisation. A Certain Strangeness. This piece put a certain approach in my in my head and pointed me in the direction of eleven more tracks. These pieces which vary from minimalist approaches to African influenced dance pieces and are what I consider the sonic parallels to the photography.

Toyah/Posh Pop ....import CD $18.99
Toyah/Posh Pop [Deluxe Edition] ....import CD + DVD $32.99
For over a year one of the most watched 'YouTubers' and internet sensations has been Toyah Willcox. Toyah's 'Sunday Lunch' performances with Robert Fripp and weekend broadcasts have been seen by 38 million. Simultaneous to creating consistently unique online videos, Toyah made the album Posh Pop with her long-term songwriting partner Simon Darlow. Posh Pop is a strong collection of infectious and affirmative pop songs that are as joyous as they are reflective, from the cosmic groove of "Space Dance," to the sun-kissed anthem of unity "Summer Of Love." The album is crafted with evocative storytelling and musicianship from Toyah, Simon Darlow (guitars, keyboards, cello), Bobby [Fripp] Willcox (guitar) and Jeremy Stacey (drums). Posh Pop opens with the energy-burst of "Levitate" and leads the listener on a journey that climaxes in the soaring, intergalactic-tinged "Take Me Home." The album was inspired by the world we find ourselves in today and touches on the ever-present desire to be 'famous for fifteen minutes' a la Andy Warhol, escaping the everyday, but above all staying connected to humankind beyond computer screens and geography. Produced by Simon Darlow, Posh Pop is Toyah's first brand new studio solo album since 2008 and twenty-fifth album since 1979.
Trifecta/Fragments ....CD $16.99
We are delighted to be able to announce that Trifecta have joined the Kscope family. Trifecta features three of the contemporary music scene's most lauded and revered musicians - bassist and songwriter Nick Beggs, keyboardist extraordinaire Adam Holzman and completing the line-up, Craig Blundell - one of the world's most celebrated drummers. Having performed together as part of Steven Wilson's band, the three would jam together after soundchecks, forming what they referred to as "jazz club" and from these sessions the fledgling ideas for Trifecta were nurtured, Nick Beggs comments "so after the last tour with Steven finished, we had a handful of tracks ready to work on and as we moved through our various separate projects we agreed to work on Trifecta." Asked what fans of the musicians can expect from Trifecta he states "Fission! It's like Fusion but less efficient and more dangerous..., however, on hearing the record, my wife said, this is the worst thing she ever heard." We can't wait for you to hear it and see what you think! The record primarily operates in a jazz rock territory, and is wholly instrumental except for the first single, Pavlov's Dog Killed Schrodinger's Cat, the lyrics of which, Beggs states, "Are written from the perspective of a layman trying to understand quantum mechanics...and failing!"

New remastered three CD clamshell boxed set of the classic albums and non-album singles by the legendary band Vinegar Joe released between 1972-1973. One of the great British bands of the early 1970s, Vinegar Joe were formed from the remnants of Dada and featured Elkie Brooks and Robert Palmer on vocals along with guitarist and visionary arranger Pete Gage. Renowned for their energetic live shows and engaging image. Sadly, their live reputation failed to deliver commercial success even following 1973's final album 'Six Star General' which featured stand out tracks including 'Black Smoke Rising from the Calumet,' 'Fine Things' and 'Lady of the Rain.' Following the band's demise, both Palmer and Brooks would go on to enjoy huge success as solo artists, while Gage became a noted producer and arranger. This three CD collection gathers together Vinegar Joe's three albums and their non-album singles, all remastered for the first time from the original Island Records master tapes and packaged in replica album sleeves. The set also includes an illustrated booklet with exclusive interviews with both Pete Gage and Elkie Brooks.
