Jon Anderson/1000 Hands [Chapter One] ....CD $15.99
1000 Hands: Chapter One is the fifteenth studio album by English singer-songwriter and musician Jon Anderson. The album originates from sessions for a project to have been called Uzlot (a northern English pronunciation of "us lot") that Anderson had been recording in Big Bear, California, with Brian Chatton in around 1990. Chatton wrote most of the music, played keyboards and also sang. Anderson asked his then Yes bandmates Chris Squire and Alan White to play on the project too. At the time, Yes were preparing for a tour and Anderson put the master tapes in his garage and, as he has recounted, gave them very little thought for many years. In 2016, producer Michael Franklin contacted Anderson about using the tapes and finishing an album. Further recordings followed at Solar Studios in Orlando, Florida. Along with some newly written material, the final result is 1000 Hands. As the album title suggests, the album was created with a number of guest performers, including Steve Howe, Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson, Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain, Vanilla Fudge drummer Carmine Appice, Rick Derringer, the Tower of Power horn section, violinists Jean-Luc Ponty, Jerry Goodman and Robby Steinhardt of Kansas, Chick Corea, Larry Coryell, Stuart Hamm, Billy Cobham and many more!
Steve Howe/Love Is ....CD $14.99
To any rock music fan of the last 50 years, Steve Howe needs no introduction. Best known as the guitarist for progressive rock band Yes, he has enjoyed a prolific recording and performing career spanning five decades. In addition to his solo work, Steve has released more than 50 albums with bands such as Yes and Asia and guest appeared with the likes of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Lou Reed and Queen. Love Is is Howe's 17th solo record, comprising ten songs: five with current Yes singer, Jon Davison, singing harmonies and playing bass guitar and five instrumental tracks rotating through the running order. The instrumentals keep a highly progressive rock guitar style to the fore, with songs that explore stories of lives lived and lives only just beginning. 'Love Is a River' is the central track, with several textural shifts, featuring a theme played on 12 string and steel guitars. Steve's son, Dylan, features on drums. Many years in the making, Love Is offers a consistently strong and polished listening experience, forging the very best from the writing and playing throughout.

Tin Machine/Tin Machine II ....CD $14.99
Originally released by Victory Music in 1991, Tin Machine II is the second and final studio album by Tin Machine. After this album and the supporting tour, frontman David Bowie resumed his solo career. Tin Machine II's reputation has only increased over the years. Uncut magazine placed the album on their list of 50 Great Lost Albums (their list of great albums not currently available for purchase), calling the album "extraordinary." As with all Bowie albums, there are plenty of strong tracks here to make this a must have. Opening track "Baby Universal" is pure Bowie. He re-recorded this track in 1996 for his 1997 album Earthling, but the track was not released on the album. It was eventually released in 2020 on the Bowie EP Is it Any Wonder?. The first single "You Belong in Rock n' Roll" was released ahead of the album and peaked at No. 33 in the UK. The second single "Baby Universal" achieved success on the Modern Rock chart in the USA, where it reached No. 21, and the third and last single "One Shot" became an even bigger hit, reaching No. 3. The album's cover (which was censored for it's original USA release!) was created by Edward Bell, who had previously worked with Bowie in making artwork for Scary Monsters. The CD features the hidden & unlisted track "Hammerhead (instrumental)."

Miles Davis/The Lost Septet ....2 CD Set $18.99
Two CD set. The company that brought you the #1 jazz album 'Miles Davis: The Lost Quintet' is delighted to release this follow up album; the second in an amazing trilogy. "If you are going to change your music, you gotta change your band," Miles Davis said. And he never stood still. The incredible seven-piece band, The Lost Septet, never recorded in the studio but we are lucky that they did a European tour in October / November 1971. This double album captures one of the best performances on that tour, only previously broadcast on radio, at the Wiener Konzerthaus, in Vienna on 5th November. The line-up for this incredible show features: Miles Davis - trumpet, Gary Bartz - soprano & alto sax, Keith Jarrett - electric piano, organ, Michael Henderson - electric bass, Ndugu Leon Chancler - drums, Charles Don Alias - percussion, James Mtume Foreman - percussion. Miles Davis' last recording in the studio was the Jack Johnston album although he was still going through more changes in music, slowly moving on to more of a rock sound than jazz (his friendship with Jimi Hendrix was a big infuence). "We were as intense as any rock band and just as loud," remembers Gary Bartz. Miles showcased music on this tour from various albums such as In a Silent Way, Bitches Brew also Jack Johnston and also Live Evil. The Lost Septet were informed by this increasingly rock background and Miles himself was playing with a wah-wah pedal, which made him sound more like a guitar. In the older days, Miles Davis played in the middle register, but now with The Lost Septet he produced more high notes, and his playing style and that of the band would reflect that new style delivery. Unmissable.

Fruupp/Maid in Ireland: Best of Fruupp ....import CD $18.99
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a new re-mastered collection that celebrates the best of the legendary Irish Progressive Rock band Fruupp. Formed in Belfast in 1971, the band featured Pete Farrelly (bass guitar, flute, lead vocals), Vincent McCusker (lead guitar, vocals), Stephen Houston (keyboards, oboe, vocals) and Martin Foye (drums, percussion). The band signed with Pye Records' Progressive label Dawn in 1973 and were a much-loved act on the British concert circuit, sharing billings with such luminaries as Genesis, ELO, Hawkwind, Man, Supertramp, Queen et al. The band's first album "Future Legends" was issued in October that year and saw the band gain a loyal following. The band's follow up album, "Seven Secrets," was issued in April 1974 and was a wonderful exercise in symphonic and melodic rock, the album was highly acclaimed upon release. Released in November 1974, "The Prince of Heaven's Eyes" was Fruupp's third album and their most ambitious to date, being a conceptual work. Prior to the recording of the band's fourth album, keyboard player Stephen Houston departed the band to be replaced by John Mason on keyboards, vibes and vocals. "Modern Masquerades" would be Fruupp's final album and was produced by former King Crimson member Ian McDonald and was arguably one of their most polished works. This new assortment has been compiled by Fruupp lyricist and manager Paul Charles, who has also written a new essay for the illustrated booklet and has been remastered from the original master tapes.
July/The Complete Recordings ....import 6 CD Box Set $44.99
Released by the Major Minor label in 1968, the self-titled July album has long been acknowledged by genre enthusiasts as one of the classic UK psychedelic one-shots, mixing the ambition and experimentation of "Sgt. Pepper" with a lo-fi charm and endearing garage band artlessness and one of the earliest appearances on record of Jon Field and Tony Duhig who went on to create Jade Warrior. It is also one of the most hotly-pursued artefacts of the British psychedelic era. Our definitive 6-CD overview of the band's activities includes newly-remastered versions of the album in both mono and stereo formats as well as the various single issues, including a completely different recording of album nugget 'The Way.' Disc Three contains "The Second of July," a collection of pre-album demos that appeared in the mid-Nineties to capitalise on the band's growing reputation as original copies of their LP began to sell for increasingly large sums of money. The remainder of the boxed set consists of more recent July recordings following their triumphant return to live work a few years ago. Disc Four is the aborted album "Temporal Anomaly," which was recorded circa 2010 but which gains a first-ever release, while Disc 5 is the appropriately-titled "Resurrection," which received a limited release in 2013. Disc Six comprises the latest July magnum opus, "The Wight Album," which has been pieced together over the last few years by Tom Newman and Peter Cook at Tom's recording studio on the Isle of Wight. Now finally completed, "The Wight Album" - described by Tom as "the greatest July album" - brings the July story bang up to date. Housed in a clamshell box, and with a 40-page booklet containing a 7000 word essay on the band featuring new quotes and some priceless period photos, The Complete Recordings is an epic look at the studio activities of one of the biggest cults to emerge from the original British psychedelic scene.
The Residents/Metal, Meat & Bone: The Songs of Dyin' Dog ....import 2 CD $23.99
Realizing a career-long ambition, The Residents finally explore 'The Blues.' Having been turned on to the music of lost bluesman Alvin Snow, aka Dyin' Dog, the group presents their interpretations of all ten of Snow's known recordings, alongside several new compositions inspired by his work. Fans will be familiar with The Residents' love of cover versions and imposing themselves on the material of countless seminal artists. Metal, Meat & Bone sees the group take that approach a step further, having discovered a previously unknown artist on their own doorstep and found themselves moved to record their own tribute to his work. A collision of the pain of the wounded bluesman and the subversive and unpredictable sound of this most unique of bands.
Anekdoten/Nucleus ....CD $14.99
The 1995 second album from the Swedish progressive rock band Anekdoten, following 1993's debut 'Vemod' (a classic in the underground scene, blending the progressive attack and symphonic darkness of King Crimson with the sensibility and beauty of Nordic songwriting). Nothing about the perhaps naive 'Vemod' could have prepared the listener for the shocking verification that came with 'Nucleus.' Over those two years, the quartet's artistic voices had been brought to perfection, resulting in an album that simply cannot be compared to any other record. It's sheer power, originality, excessive cravings, mayhem, complexity, elegy, intelligent chord-and time-changes, variety and weird tonality mark the first point in history where Anekdoten present themselves as a unique entity. 'Nucleus' is like a musical painting of The Beauty and the Beast. The mixture of brutal, dissonant riffs and fragile, extraordinary melody-lines is a work of genius. State-of-the-art rock does not get any better than this.'Nucleus' will be released in a digipak with 8-page booklet and was remastered in 2020 by Hans Fredriksson.
Gosta Berlings Saga/Konkret Musik ....import CD $21.99

The Groundhogs/Split ....CD $15.99
The second of three ground-breaking albums by the ultimate power trio who morphed blues into hard rock. A much-loved opus with a side-long concept piece. A bona fide inspirational rock classic. 'Tony McPhee has turned to anarchic paranoid battlegrounds of the mind for inspiration,' Melody Maker. And a second side that delivers the mighty 'Cherry Red,' McPhee's take on The Beatles' 'A Day In the Life,' a sideswipe at junk food and a glorious interpretation of John Lee Hooker's 'Groundhogs Blues.' 'Both musically and lyrically, 'Split' speaks for a lost time, a nomad time when ideals took to the hoof and musicians stayed on the road rather than confront the fact that the '60s 'war' had been lost.' Julian Cope 'Supercharged, fractured and raging.' MOJO. Remastered and packaged with out-takes from the original sessions that spawned this spontaneous monster.

Edgar Winter Group/They Only Come Out at Night ....import CD $15.99
Edgar Winter is the younger brother of blues singer Johnny Winter and an accomplished musician and songwriter in his own rite. "They Only Come Out at Night" was released in 1972 and features the The McCoys founding members Rick Derringer and Randy Jo Hobbs. The album's tracks goes from the hard guitar-driven rock of "Frankenstein," "Free Ride," and "Undercover Man" to the pop-sounding "Alta Mira" to the steel guitars played by Derringer and the almost country sound of "Round & Round." Every song here is such a joy to listen to. But then, how could they have missed? Besides the talented Winter you have guitarist Ronnie Montrose and Dan Hartman ("Relight My Fire" and "Instant Replay") as part of the group.
John Zorn/Les Maudits ....CD $18.99
2020 release. Demolishing all boundaries and pushing the artistic envelope beyond all expectations Ubu is one of Zorn's greatest and most outrageous creations, a bizarre musical portrait of the subversive writer Alfred Jarry and his powerful Pataphyisical figure Ubu. The Ubu plays were a powerful precursor to many of the European avantgarde experiments of the early 20th century (Dada, Surrealism, Theatre of the Absurd, Futurism, postmodernism) and Zorn captures the vulgar, rebellious, gluttonous, childish and revolutionary spirit of Ubu in this major new studio composition. Accompanying this work are two pieces performed by the International Contemporary Ensemble under the direction of David Fulmer. A concerto grosso in three movements inspired by the work of radical French poet Charles Baudelaire, and Oviri ('savage' in Tahitian) a touching elegy to Paul Gauguin, the influential and complex artist who helped redefine painting in the 20th century.
Haken/Virus ....import 2 CD Set $19.99
2020's Virus is perhaps the most eclectic Haken album to date, featuring seven ambitious tracks that reveal influences from multiple genres, all intertwined with the band's instantly recognisable sound. The second disc includes instrumental mixes of all the tracks.
Epitaph/Five Decades of Classic Rock ....import 3 CD Set $23.99
In 2020 Epitaph celebrated their 50th anniversary. Reason enough to celebrate this with a new album and corresponding tour. The new album contains the best of Five Decades of Classic Rock in a 3 CD box and is the culmination of their 50-year journey through the world of rock. This very varied and personal musical statement takes the listener from the cellars of the Fantasio Club in Dortmund to the leading rock and blues venues of Chicago, with all the trials, tribulations, successes and broken dreams that have made Epitaph what they are today: a top-flight, classic rock band. Only a handful of German rock bands can be described as legendary, and Epitaph is definitely one of them. Founded in 1969, in the '70s they wrote music history. They were the first German band to tour the USA several times, producing their album "Outside the Law" in Chicago in 1974. They made their name in Germany with TV appearances on Beat Club and Rockpalast.

Dave Bainbridge/The Remembering ....import CD $17.99
An evocative and atmospheric first collection of solo piano improvisations from this member of the progressive band Iona. "Bainbridge's style is contemporary, yet imbued with the dynamic spirit of Ravel and Debussy, with a thrilling dash of Bill Evans... an album that's pure class from first note to last" (Prog Magazine). "Ever since studying music, art and art history as teenager I've been fascinated by the French impressionist movement, both in art and music. The idea of capturing a fleeting scene, a brief moment in time, or a feeling evoked by a place or a person, has resonated with me throughout my musical life. Most people can link powerful memories to a certain piece of music, a picture, an aroma. Even when my mam was unable to remember words or people's names as Alzheimer's took hold, she was still able to remember how to play tunes on her accordion. In a sense, all the pieces on this album are impressions, a brief moment in time interpreted through the medium of music."
Joe Satriani/Engines of Creation ....import CD $14.99
This is a very progressive, modern rock record that deserves some respect and recognition. "Devil's Slide" is an awesome opener, "Flavor Crystal" and "Borg Sex" continue to rock, and then things get mellow with "Until We Say Goodbye." This is certainly a well-balanced record. It's surprising how much the keys, percussion, and programming actually make this album. In the end, the guitar edges out the synthesizers, with leads as piercing as ever, sometimes more so, as if Satriani is driven to invent the state-of-the-art instruments required for consciousness-altering laser surgery. With this release, Joe got his foot into a modern and nice sound and continues to sound relevant.

David Cunningham & Barrie Guard/Zina [Original Soundtrack] ....import CD $17.99
Zina is a 1985 award-winning film directed by Ken McMullen. It tells a story of a twentieth century Antigone, Zinaida Volkova (Domiziana Giordano), daughter of Leon Trotsky. David Cunningham is a composer and music producer from Northern Ireland. He is probably best known to a rock and roll audience for his work with the massively peculiar experimental band 'The Flying Lizards,' but from about 1993 Cunningham began to make installations in which sounds within an architectural space were picked up by a microphone and then fed back into the space; the presence of an audience altered both the shape of the space and the sounds within it. A work of this type, The Listening Room, was installed in the Queen's Powder Magazine on Goat Island in Sydney Harbour during the Sydney Biennale of 1998. Barrie Guard however is a British composer known for working in a more conventional medium. What happens when these two composers work together? You will just have to listen to this extraordinarily emotive album to find out.
Anthony Phillips/The Living Room Concert [Remastered & Expanded Edition] ....import CD $18.99

For the performance Anthony selected a number of acoustic guitar and piano pieces for the performance, drawing mainly on tracks originally released on the albums The Geese and The Ghost, Private Parts and Pieces and A Catch at The Tables, along with two pieces from New England, the eighth volume in the Private Parts & Pieces series and a solo 12-string version of the first movement of a Guitar Quintet that he had composed in 1976, which had subsequently been scored with parts for strings and wind instruments; Conversation Piece. Unavailable on CD for many years, The Living Room concert has been remastered and expanded to include three previously unreleased tracks recorded for the original broadcast, Jaunty Roads, Let Us Now Make Love and Lucy: An Illusion. Steve Hackett, John Hackett and Various Artists/Welcome Steve! [Dusk Day #4] ....import DVD $38.99
"Back in 2005 here at the Genesis Club Rex House Umbria when we organzed the first Dusk Day with the full help of people like Massimo Achilli, Mario Giammetti (the invaluable leader of the well known Dusk magazine), Mino Profumo and Simone Mazzilli, our initial idea was just a small gathering amongst fans. Since then the concept has evolved throughout the years and transformed itself to this unmissalble event for Genesis fans and the town of Orvieto. Of course we never hoped to see on our stage a piece of Genesis history, but this dream came true on September 20th, 2008, when we all cheered Steve Hackett to a huge standing ovation. This is the story of this unforgettable emotional moment. Welcome Steve!" Dave Cousins & The Blue Angel Orchestra/The Boy in the Sailor Suit [Remastered & Expanded Edition] ....import CD $18.99
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a new re-mastered and expanded edition of the 2007 solo album by Strawbs founder Dave Cousins. The Boy in the Sailor Suit was Cousins' second solo album, appearing thirty-five years after his first solo outing Two Weeks Last Summer. The album was a fine collection of personal songs and was produced by Chris Tsangarides. For the recording sessions Dave Cousins assembled a fine cast of musicians; Miller Anderson (guitar), Chas Cronk (bass), Ian Cutler (fiddle) and Chris Hunt (drums) with guests Chris Ball (piano), Tony Attwood (organ) and Elizabeth & Francis Tophill (vocal harmonies). The ensemble was to be known as The Blue Angel Orchestra (a reference to the epic track on Cousins' first solo album). Following a few days rehearsal in Teddington, the album was recorded and mixed in just a week at Chris Tsangarides' studio in Kent, with most tracks recorded live, giving the album a fine spontaneity. The finished album was widely praised upon its release by both Strawbs fans and critics. Unavailable for some years, The Boy in the Sailor Suit has been newly re-mastered and expanded to include three bonus tracks featuring live performances of songs from the album, recorded in the USA in 2008 and in the UK in 2009. This release features the original artwork and booklet liner notes by Dave Cousins.
Strawbs/Burning for You [Remastered & Expanded Edition] ....import CD $18.99
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered and expanded edition of the classic 1977 album Burning for You by the Strawbs. Recorded at Relight Studios in the Netherlands in March 1977, the album was the band's second for the recently established Oyster Records (formed by Deep Purple member Roger Glover). For the recording sessions the line-up of Dave Cousins (vocals, acoustic guitars), Dave Lambert (vocals, electric guitars), Chas Cronk (bass, guitars, vocals) and Rod Coombes (drums) was augmented by Robert Kirby (mellotron, electric piano, synthesiser & acoustic guitar) and John Mealing (keyboards). The initial recording sessions were supervised by Jeffrey Lesser who had previously worked with the band on the Deep Cuts album the previous year. Burning for You featured many fine compositions written mainly by Dave Cousins and Chas Cronk, spawning a hit single in Back in the Old Routine and also featured the Dave Lambert song Heartbreaker. This Esoteric Recordings expanded edition has been newly re-mastered from the original master tapes and features four bonus tracks, including an early version of the song Joey and Me (later to feature on the band's 1978 album Deadlines), two out-takes from the album sessions and the song Heartbreaker (a different composition from the song featured on Burning for You), from the 1977 Intergalactic Touring Band concept album project. The release restores the original artwork and includes a new essay by Dave Cousins, making this the definitive edition of Burning for You.
Strawbs/Heartbreak Hill [Remastered & Expanded Edition] ....import CD $18.99
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered and expanded edition of the classic "lost" Strawbs album Heartbreak Hill. Recorded in 1978 at Ringo Starr's Startling Studios, the album was recorded at a time of change for the band. Seeking to rethink their approach (following the release of the album Deadlines), the sessions would feature a line-up of Dave Cousins (vocals, guitar), Chas Cronk (bass, vocals), Andy Richards (keyboards), Tony Fernandez (drums) and Jo Partridge (guitars, mandolin, vocals). Recording sessions began with Dave Lambert in the ranks, but his departure after the recording of the song "Something for Nothing" led to the recruitment of Jo Partridge. The album would also see the guest appearance of Miller Anderson on guitar and vocals on the song 'We Can Make It Together.' Despite the fraught nature of the beginning of the recordings, the finished work was a fine progressive rock album. Alas, upon completion, Strawbs found themselves without management or a record deal and Heartbreak Hill would remain unreleased in any form until 1995 when a CD was prepared from a 7 ˝ ips copy tape. The discovery of the original master tapes in 2006 saw a new re-release of the album. Now, Heartbreak Hill has been newly re-mastered and features four bonus tracks, including two David Cousins home demos from 1978 and live recordings of 'Heartbreak Hill' and 'Starting Over' from The Strawbs 40th anniversary celebration in September 2009 performed by the line-up who recorded the original album. The release includes a new essay by Dave Cousins, making this the definitive edition of Heartbreak Hill.

Keith Relf/All the Falling Angels - Solo Recordings & Collaborations 1965-1976 ....import CD $24.99
Repertoire Records proudly present All the Falling Angels, a collection of recordings featuring the late Keith Relf, former vocalist/guitarist with the Yardbirds and the original lineup of Renaissance. With his blond hair, dark sunglasses, and frail, moody vocal style, Keith Relf brought a mystique to the Yardbirds that was a huge element of their image and sound. That cool, cerebral, soulful approach continued with the music he made after the Yardbirds, all the way up until his tragic death in 1976 at the age of just 33. All the Falling Angels is a carefully selected collection of Keith's work as a solo artist and in collaboration with fellow Yardbird Jim McCarty and his sister Jane Relf (both of whom were also part of the original Renaissance lineup). It includes previously unreleased demos from Keith's personal tape archive, along with rare tracks by Together, the duo he formed with McCarty in 1968, his hard to find 1966 solo singles, and much more. 24 tracks total.

Edgar Froese/Tangerine Dream - Force Majeure ....import Book $64.99
Edgar Froese, composer, musician, artist and notable pioneer in the area of electronic music, looks back over many years of music history and the band that had a major influence on his life: Tangerine Dream. The will to unconditionally revolutionize sound itself correlated inescapably with the awakening of the new, leaving the stench of the1950s behind and creating a completely new consciousness for the post-war generation. Told totally in the style of the spirit of the '60s, the reader becomes magically immersed in an unsettling but fascinating universe, marked among other things, encounters and collaborations with the greats from the worlds of art, film and music - names like Salvador Dalí, Jimi Hendrix, Andy Warhol, David Bowie, Michael Mann, Oliver Stone, Ridley Scott, Jim Rakete - to name but a few. Concert tours as the first band from the West ever to journey through the former GDR and Poland during the dark days of the Iron Curtain are spiked with countless entertaining anecdotes. In the 1980's, young and ambitious Hollywood directors found Tangerine Dream to be the perfect scoring partners for their new movies. Edgars Froese's autobiography "Force Majeure" is an authentic compendium of contemporary history; the book contains many unpublished photographs, as well as the thoughts and ideas of fellow musicians, friends and fans, all rounding off this unique and new literary composition.

The original female voice of Fairport Convention and subsequently part of Giles, Giles and Fripp and Trader Horne, Dyble retired from the music business in 1973. However, following a handful of live festival appearances, she returned to recording with a double A-side single in March 2008, followed by her solo debut album, Talking with Strangers, in August 2009. Featuring, among others Robert Fripp, Ian McDonald, Julianne Regan, Simon Nicol and Jacqui McShee alongside co-writer Alistair Murphy on acoustic guitar and piano, bassist Mark Fletcher and guitarist Jeremy Salmon, the latter three comprising the core of her band of the last ten years, 'The Perfect Strangers,' appearing on her three solo albums (but not Summer Dancing, a 2017 electronica collaboration with Andy Lewis). They again join her here now on Weavings of a Silver Magic, her second live album, recorded at St. Barnabas Church in Cambridge in September 2016 and featuring the Ad Hoc Strings quintet, keyboards and cajon. Save for one number, the material's all drawn from 2013's Flow and Change and Earth is Sleeping, her most recent, from 2018. Weavings of a Silver Magic ends with the aforementioned exception, a six-minute arrangement on 'I Talk to the Wind,' the dreamy song, and an evocation of early Fairport, she recorded both as a demo with Giles, Giles and Fripp, which eventually surfaced on the 2002 reissue of their 1968 Brondesbury Tapes, and, in a more uptempo version with King Crimson on the 1976 compilation A Young Person's Guide to King Crimson. Pure magic throughout- silver, gold and platinum.

The Humans were to be music stripped bare." We Are the Humans, released in 2009, features "Noise in Your Head," "Quicksilver" and "Is It Wrong." The CD now includes four bonus tracks: a cover of "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" featuring Robert Fripp, and three of Toyah's original home demos, demonstrating her original concept for the ensemble. Sonar & David Torn/Tranceportation Volume 2 ....CD $15.99
The music created by Stephan Thelen (tritone guitar), Bernard Wagner (tritone guitar), Christian Kuntner (tritone bass), Manuel Pasquinelli (drums, percussion) harnesses elements of rock, jazz and contemporary classical minimalism and fuses them to create a distinctive musical language. Their partnership with David Torn began with their 2018 release, Vortex. Initially brought in as producer, such was Torn's enthusiasm for the quartet's music he couldn't help but add his flowing brand of effusive, vivid soloing and textural layering across the breadth of the record. While that was a spontaneous, off-the-cuff reaction to music that had been composed for a quartet, for the Tranceportation albums the music has been specifically composed with Torn in mind from the very beginning. But one album wasn't enough to contain all this creativity, hence Tranceportation Volume 2. Bringing a renowned and adventurous musicality to everything he does, Torn's reputation as a 'wild card' instrumentalist has seen him work with an impressively wide array of diverse artists that includes David Bowie, Laurie Anderson, Bill Bruford, David Sylvian, Tori Amos, Mick Karn, Madonna, Jeff Beck and Jan Garbarek among others. With parts written and arranged for a new quintet formation of Sonar there's a greater integration of space for improvisation and deeper sonic exploration built into the music. This latest collaboration contains four new extended guitar workouts, sure to appeal to progressive and jazz fans everywhere.

Nick D'Virgilio/Invisible ....import CD $18.99
Coming almost two decades after his debut solo offering, Invisible is the second solo album by drummer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Nick D'Virgilio (Big Big Train/Spock's Beard/Genesis etc). A concept album about 'finding meaning,' the recording process was split between the legendary Abbey Road Studios (including full string and brass sections) and Sweetwater Studios in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Invisible boasts star turns from luminaries such as guitarists Paul Gilbert, Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick) and Carl Verheyen (Supertramp), bassists Tony Levin and Jonas Reingold, plus keyboard players Jordan Rudess and Jem Godfrey. NDV describes his new record as, "A collection of songs that make up the story of a man who is unhappy with where his life has ended up. He finally decides to take the scary step of leaving everything behind so he can go and find the meaning of his life." He continues: "Throughout my career I have been in many different places. Over time the word 'invisible' kept coming to mind and it got me thinking of people that truly have the hardest jobs in the world, or no job at all. The outliers. The ones we all take for granted. The ones we will never know but if they were not there then our lives would not be the nearly the same. Over time I amassed lyric and song ideas with the idea of writing a concept record on the subject." Keen to establish that "this is not your typical drummer record," NDV states that "Invisible is a rock album with various musical flavours thrown in because the songs were formed with the story in mind. A classical prelude that uses various themes from the whole piece sets the stage. From there comes a mellow ballad outlining the story and then it is on to the adventures of the central character. The main thing making this record did for me was to reaffirm my strong belief that we are all here for something. We all have a purpose."

K. Leimer/A Figure of Loss ....CD $16.99
A Figure of Loss takes K. Leimer's music into highly personal terrain. Written and recorded during two dark years, the resulting work hovers in proximity of a calm and placid consistency, tenuously balanced on expanding and contracting foundations. Built mostly around modeled and treated piano and digital synthesis, a sense of coherence emerged from piece to piece during the recording and editing process, yielding a sustained, but disturbed elegiac atmosphere, seemingly content to meditate on it's own specific set of limits. But A Figure of Loss reaches from well-defined patterns to fragmented and shifting densities. This is a music of reflection, setting itself at a distance from loss in order to possibly comprehend it. The CD includes a portfolio of photographs by Tyler Boley and a download code for the entire album. It was mastered by James Savage.

Resisting the urge to produce a shred fest of guitar rock, Lee uses the guitar to interpret song writing with his well known sense of melody and chord structures.
Foghat/Boogie Motel ....import CD $14.99
Foghat is synonymous with the '70s. The blues rockin' and boogie band from England built their reputation in the states throughout the dazed and confused decade as a no-frills, hard workin' group. Foghat was never going to appeal to the critics, as the group, like Grand Funk Railroad, was a people's band. This mega-voltage record has an Overture entitled "Somebody's Been Sleeping in My Bed" that sets the tone and is the albums first hit-single. "Third Time Lucky" was the follow-up hit-single. "Paradise Alley" brings out the acoustic guitars and the lonesome slide guitar. Foghat's boogie can be fast or slow, but it will move you either way.
Steve Roach/A Soul Ascends ....CD $15.99
A Soul Ascends is a majestic, deeply moving sonic suspension drawn from the essence of Roach's visionary ambient/electronic music. A vast and intimate holding-the-space of heart-centered serenity and compassion, the album couples the body to the eternal flow of a vaporizing weightlessness - back to a divine nothingness, the Tabula Rasa where everything began. The expansive, lush timbral embrace has an undeniable connection to the DNA of Steve's classic-era Structures from Silence and Quiet Music releases. A sense of omnipresent dimension of tranquility and transcendence is the heart of A Soul Ascends.
Noveller/Arrow ....CD $12.99
Creating what Iggy Pop described to Jim Jarmusch as "symphonies for people that don't have a lot of time," Sarah Lipstate has emerged as an innovative and defining voice in the world of music under the name Noveller. Wielding a guitar as her main instrument, Lipstate has pioneered a transcendent approach to composition through her mastery and integration of effects pedals and technology. Forming unexpected sonic routes, her songs are vivid and cinematic, telling intricate tales with each tone and swell. Raised on a strict piano technique, the discovery of the guitar late in her teens allowed for an escape from formalism and unlocked the hidden realms of her creativity. Taking an anti-theoretical approach, suddenly music was no longer a series of notes, rests, and time signatures, but a means of intuitive expression. Her deepened interest in experimental music, fueled by the discovery of the bold noise of Sonic Youth, the epic scope of Glenn Branca, the delicate formularies of Brian Eno and the no wave discordance of Teenage Jesus & The Jerks, only furthered to inspire. A yearning to explore and feed that creativity took her from Louisiana to Austin, then Brooklyn to LA. Arrow is her first album since the move to the edge of the canyons of Los Angeles, and one can hear the destabilizing effect this had on her in the music. Out of her comfort zone in a new city, with a rolling expanse in front of her and an urban sprawl over her shoulder, Lipstate built her new album as she contemplated this change in her life. With her ability to add such unique sounds and textures, Lipstate has been sought out as a frequent collaborator, recently writing songs with Iggy Pop and performing as a member of his band on his worldwide tour. Past partners in crime have ranged from JG Thirlwell to Lee Ranaldo and she has performed as part of Rhys Chatham's Guitar Army, Nick Zinner's "41 Strings", Ben Frost's "Music for 6 Guitars", and Glenn Branca's 100 guitar ensemble. She has also toured in support of big fans in St. Vincent, Wire, U.S. Girls, The Jesus Lizard and Helium.
Momus/Vivid ....CD $15.99
2020 release. "This is an amazingly intense moment for the whole of mankind and, for a marginal artist like me, an extraordinary opportunity to experience what everyone else is experiencing." That's what Momus told the BBC in mid-April when they approached him for a statement about his album in progress, a documentation of his own experience of Covid-19. On March 16th, in lockdown in Berlin, Momus had begun recording a new album called Vivid. "Goodbye everyone, it's a scary old world, but thanks for the ride," ran the lyric to Oblivion, a song whose rapid, phasing accordions evoked the post-minimalism of Steve Reich, Michael Nyman and Meredith Monk. The following day the Scottish songwriter came down with Covid-19 himself, and spent a week in bed, feverish and frightened. The infection passed without much damage, and Momus was able to resume work, completing fifteen tracks in just over a month. Songs like Working from Home, Self-Isolation, My Corona and Ten Foot Hut explore the odd mixture of fear and boredom that the pandemic has unleashed on us all: the sense of being possessed by some kind of malign spirit, and the vague hope that a better world might emerge at the end of all this. There's even room for some dark humour in the form of a chilly, forensic cover of Tom Lehrer's epidemiological song I Got It from Agnes.
John Zorn/Baphomet ....CD $18.99
Baphomet is a masterpiece! One epic 40-minute long-form composition touching upon all of Zorn's musical obsessions from classical atonality, minimalism, jazz, metal, punk, funk, improvisation, exotica and more. Passionately performed by Simulacrum, his most powerful 20th century ensemble, the music has a dramatic cinematic expanse and is filled with new sounds, unexpected directions, virtuosic solos, bizarre structural complexities and ever surprising melodic and harmonic twists and turns. Baphomet is a courageous new step for Zorn, and a spectacular culmination to his 30-year exploration of the nexus that connects hardcore punk, progressive metal and jazz.
Chris Frantz/Remain in Love: Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club, Tina ....Hardcover Book $29.99
One of the most dynamic groups of the '70s and '80s, Talking Heads, founded by drummer Chris Frantz, his girlfriend Tina Weymouth, and lead singer David Byrne, burst onto the music scene, playing at CBGBs, touring Europe with the Ramones, and creating hits like "Psycho Killer" and "Burning Down the House" that captured the post-baby boom generation's intense, affectless style. In Remain in Love, Frantz writes about the beginnings of Talking Heads, their days as art students in Providence, moving to the sparse Chrystie Street loft Frantz, Weymouth, and Byrne shared where the music that defined an era was written. With never-before-seen photos and immersive vivid detail, Frantz describes life on tour, down to the meals eaten and the clothes worn, and reveals the mechanics of a long and complicated working relationship with a mercurial frontman. At the heart of Remain in Love is Frantz's love for Weymouth: their once-in-a-lifetime connection as lovers, musicians, and bandmates, and how their creativity surged with the creation of their own band Tom Tom Club, bringing a fresh Afro-Caribbean beat to hits like "Genius of Love." Studded with memorable places and names from the era - Grace Jones, Andy Warhol, Stephen Sprouse, Lou Reed, Brian Eno, and Debbie Harry among them - Remain in Love is a frank and open memoir of an emblematic life in music and in love.

His solo career began with the album Oh How We Danced, recorded whilst Traffic was on hiatus whilst Steve Winwood was recovering from peritonitis. Mainly recorded at the legendary Muscle Shoals studio in Alabama, the album featured the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section of Roger Hawkins (drums), David Hood (bass) and Barry Beckett (keyboards), along with a host of guests such as Steve Winwood, Chris Wood, Paul Kossoff, Dave Mason, Ric Grech, Jim Gordon, Mike Kellie (Spooky Tooth) and Trevor Burton (The Move / Steve Gibbons Band). Jim's second solo album was the 1974 release Whale Meat Again, an album that tackled a variety of lyrical subjects, including environmental issues. Once more, he utilized the services of Roger Hawkins, David Hood and Barry Beckett, along with Steve Winwood. With the disbanding of Traffic in 1974, following a troubled US tour, Jim embarked on his next solo project, Short Cut Draw Blood. The album would prove to be one of his most successful. Once again, Jim Capaldi assembled a stellar cast of musicians to contribute to the album such as Steve Winwood, Chris Spedding, Roger Hawkins, David Hood and Barry Beckett and Chris Wood. Brian Davison's Every Which Way/Every Which Way [50th Anniversary Remastered Edition] ....import CD $18.99
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered 50th anniversary edition of the sole album by the celebrated progressive rock group Every Which Way. The band was formed by drummer Brian Davison upon the demise of his former group The Nice in early 1970 (caused by Keith Emerson's departure to form ELP). Davison soon sought to form his own group and recruited former Skip Bifferty vocalist Graham Bell, along with bass guitarist, Alan Cartwright, guitarist John Hedley and saxophonist Geoffrey Peach. Brian Davison's Every Which Way took a more jazz influenced take on progressive rock, which suited Davison's style perfectly. The band recorded their only album at Trident studios soon after formation and signed with the recently founded Charisma label. The finished result was a fine record which earned much critical praise upon its release. The songs were mostly written by Graham Bell, whose superb voice was selected for praise. The lengthy Bed Ain't What It Used to Be opened the album and featured wonderful saxophone solos from Geoffrey Peach (earning comparisons to the sound of the band Audience, another Charisma act, or Traffic). Other highlights included the emotive Go Placidly and the excellent All in Time, but in truth the entire album was of the highest standard. Despite having produced such a fine debut album, Every Which Way lasted only a short time before disbanding. Alan Cartwright soon joined Procol Harum, whilst Brian Davison would eventually join his former Nice band mate Lee Jackson in Refugee, with Swiss keyboard player Patrick Moraz. This Esoteric Recordings edition celebrates this excellent, albeit short-lived, band.
Dennis DeYoung/26 East Vol. 1 ....CD $14.99
Brand new studio album from former Styx frontman, Dennise DeYoung. Features a guest appearance from Julian Lennon on the track 'To The Good Old Days.' Styx founding member Dennis DeYoung is back with a new original solo album, "26 East, Vol. 1." "26 East" was the address where DeYoung grew up in Roseland, IL on the far south side of Chicago. This is where the band was formed in his basement in 1962. Across the street lived the Panozzo twins, John and Chuck, who along with DeYoung would go on to form the nucleus of Styx. The cover artwork features three locomotives traveling through space, representing the original members leaving Chicago on their journey to the stars. "This was supposed to be my final album but there were so many songs written that Serafino Perugino, CEO of Frontiers, suggested dividing it into two albums rather than one," DeYoung states. "This is Volume 1, which sounds pretentious to me, but the marketing folks wanted you to know there are going to be two of them, so hey kids, there are two of them; this is Volume 1." DeYoung describes 'East Of Midnight' as a song about how late night radio changed our lives as the music transported us to a world bigger than the one we knew." The process that brought forth the album beginning in the first place started when Jim Peterik, a fellow Chicagoan and nearby neighbor, sent a song to Dennis. "If not for Jim Peterik's encouragement, talent and prodding I would not have recorded this music," says DeYoung. "He once told me the world needed my music; to which I replied 'have the world text me for verification.' We collaborated from the get go, happily and seamlessly and at this time we have written 9 songs together of which five will be on Volume 1. Just two Chicago guys doing what they do best, making music and having a laugh." In support of the release of "26 East," DeYoung will tour heavily throughout 2020.
The Dream Syndicate/The Universe Inside ....CD $12.99
When one thinks of The Dream Syndicate, it's not just the wild abandon with which singer/guitarist Steve Wynn, drummer Dennis Duck, bassist Mark Walton, and lead guitarist Jason Victor perform - it's the carefully constructed songwriting of Wynn that comes to mind. By now every rock critic in the country has predetermined who he or she feels Wynn reminds them of and what they think of that style of songs. This time, don't! Which brings us to The Universe Inside. Every article or review ever written will claim "this is new and different" - well, it is! Just look at the song lengths: 20:27, 7:36, 8:56, 9:55 and 10:53. Ok, sure - the Syndicate have occasionally committed a long song to vinyl, "John Coltrane Stereo Blues" was 9 minutes with live versions over the ten-minute mark. For the first time, every song is a group songwriting effort. What seeps in are Dennis Duck's knowledge of European avant-garde music, Jason Victor's passion for '70s prog, Mark Walton's experience in Southern-fried music collectives and Wynn's love of vintage electric jazz. The dazzling display of album cover artwork alone should clue you into the changes. But don't take our word for it. Dive in!

Roger Eno & Brian Eno/Mixing Colours ....import CD $21.99
Mixing Colours - In their first collaboration for Deutsche Grammophon, Brian and Roger Eno present an anthology of sonic inspiration. 'Mixing Colours' invites listeners into a prismatic world of calm contemplation. Their creative Deutsche Grammophon debut will reach an audience still unfamiliar with their artistry. The poetic set spotlights two celebrated ambient musicians at the height of their artistry.

Fish on Friday/Black Rain ....import CD $19.99
Esoteric Antenna is proud to present the release of Black Rain, the superb new album by Fish On Friday. Black Rain is Fish On Friday's fifth and arguably strongest album to date. On each of the album's eleven songs, the production is flawless and the songs and arrangements are imaginative and creatively constructed. The band, featuring Nick Beggs, Frank Van Bogaert, Marty Townsend and Marcus Weymaere, sounds tighter and punchier than ever before. As a response to the positive reactions to Lula Beggs' vocal contributions to Fish On Friday's previous album, Quiet Life, Lula was given a bigger guest role on Black Rain, appearing on four of the eleven tracks on the album. Black Rain may perhaps be seen as a concept album about the fast changing, (for some, way too fast), world that we live in... Our changing environment, refugees fleeing from war, and global political madness. Although the album certainly has it's dark sides, there is also room for sun and happiness. The album is packaged in a beautiful six panel digipack with a sixteen-page booklet designed by Michal Karcz, which truly complements the music to make every aspect of Black Rain a true work of art and an album for our times.
Peter Gabriel/Rated PG ....CD $14.99
Originally compiled for a limited edition picture disc LP release for RSD 2019, Rated
PG is a collection of Peter Gabriel songs that have been used in films. Including
the beautiful That'll Do, Everybird and more. Having always loved the combination of
film and music (aged 17 he gave up a place at film school to pursue a career in music),
Peter Gabriel's first opportunity to really marry these twin interests came when he was
asked to create the music for Alan Parker's film Birdy in 1985. Further film work,
including his music for Martin Scorsese's The Last Temptation of Christ (that became the
album Passion) and the soundtrack to Philip Noyce's film Rabbit-Proof Fence (released as
the album 'Long Walk Home'), has continued to feed that interest. Rated PG is an
opportunity to bring together in one place a selection of PG songs used in movies.
1. That'll Do - from the film Babe 2: Pig in the City.
2. Down to Earth - from the film Wall-E.
3. This Is Party Man - from the film Virtuosity.
4. The Book of Love - from the film Shall We Dance?
5. Taboo - from the film Natural Born Killers, feat. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
6. Everybird - from the film Birds Like Us.
7. Walk Through The Fire - from the film Against All Odds.
8. Speak (Bol) - from the film The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

Peter Green/The End of the Game [50th Anniversary Remastered & Expanded Edition] ....import CD $18.99
Esoteric Recordings are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered and expanded 50th anniversary edition of the first solo album by the legendary Peter Green. Peter's work with Fleetwood Mac needs no introduction. His acclaimed guitar playing and writing graced several albums and a succession of hit singles before he departed the group in 1970. He embarked on the recording of his first solo album only a month after leaving Fleetwood Mac, enlisting the assistance of Zoot Money (keyboards), Alex Dmochowski (bass), Nick Buck (organ) and Godfrey Maclean (percussion). The End of the Game would be an entirely instrumental affair, quite different in feel from Green's work with Fleetwood Mac. Released to very little fanfare, unjustly so as it was an imaginative work with Green's instantly recognizable guitar playing. The following year saw the release of a single 'Heavy Heart' b/w 'No Way Out,' which received some airplay and saw Green perform 'Heavy Heart' on Top of the Pops. A collaboration with Nigel Watson followed early in 1972 for Green's final single for Reprise Records, 'Beasts of Burden' b/w 'Uganda Woman.' This new and expanded Esoteric Recordings edition has been newly remastered from the original Reprise master tapes, features four bonus tracks (drawn from the two non-album singles) which appear on CD for the first time. It also features a booklet with new essay and an exclusive interview with Zoot Money on the making of the album.

The Groundhogs/Thank Christ for the Bomb ....CD $15.99
Celebrating its 50th Anniversary, 'Thank Christ for the Bomb' is released with bonus tracks on CD. A hugely influential album cited as the embryo for punk, grunge and beyond. Featuring epic 1970 concepts from this far reaching trio much praised by Underworld's Karl Hyde, Captain Sensible, Stephen Malkmus and a host of others. 'Thank Christ for the Bomb' is a visionary tale of cold war fear, alienation and everyday drama. 'This is a masterpiece!' New Musical Express. A thinking man's rumination on alienation, the album is a game of two halves; side one tackling the thermo nuclear threat while side two traces riches to rags alienation in everyday London. Also featuring Radio 1 sessions and live versions of key tracks including a lengthy take of 'Soldier' recorded for the BBC's In Concert series.
Paul Haslinger/Exit Ghost ....CD $15.99
It's a strange betweenworld, bookended by sleep and the jolt of being wide awake in a place where you wonder how you got there. You know the feeling' It seems familiar but the colours are, well, unreal. In a high-ceilinged room, a grand piano plays lush melodies as, meanwhile, somewhere, an Alice In Wonderland clock ticks, cellos are bowed, a swarm of something vibrates and the hallucinatory crowd around Rosemary's Baby babble. An echoey electronic hum builds and falls like a 50s refrigerator passed through and effects board, things run backwards, staccato strings are plucked' and that's not the half of it. 'I've never been happy staying in one particular school of musical thought. The fun has been turning things on their heads, to try something you were not supposed to do.' We're on an immersive and adventurous travelogue with the former member of the legendary Tangerine Dream, Paul Haslinger - this is a man who knows how to build tension, hold moods, illustrate contempt, lies, passion and pleasure; He can create fear, loathing and love - he's been unlocking the nuances of such emotions in a hugely successful career as a TV and film soundtrack composer (Halt And Catch Fire, Underworld and the Golden Globe-nominated Sleeper Cell). 'Exit Ghost' is his long thought out opus, a moment caught in time, flicking through reference points, taking an ethereal excursion that permeates musical genres as it becomes awash with intricate sounds and cross-pollinating rhythms. Built originally from the warmth of his grand piano 'Exit Ghost' resonates with purity and power, from an eerie and evocative betweenworld, that's at once expansive and rolling, then intoxicating and suffocating in equal measures; modern composition at its most uplifting; cerebral, celebratory, intense and beautiful. 'The soul searching in connection with this record was extensive. Finding places of resonance, giving a colour to your memories. It was more challenging because it's not somebody else's narrative. Finding the core of your own story can be the most difficult task of all.' Created over the span of eight years and filled with literal and personal references, the album itself is a testament to the search - a quest filled with hints, particles and suggestions. Paul Haslinger's 'Exit Ghost' is the first release from new label Artificial Instinct.
Hawkwind/Roadhawks ....import CD $19.99
Esoteric Recordings and Atomhenge, the home of the Hawkwind catalogue, are pleased to announce the release of a newly re-mastered edition of the classic Hawkwind compilation Roadhawks. Originally released in 1976, the album brought to a close the first era of this legendary band, gathering together highlights from the band's first five albums and featuring the classic singles Silver Machine and Urban Guerilla. The significant factor in the creation of Roadhawks was the remixing and editing of some tracks by Dave Brock and the inclusion of a previously unreleased live version of You Shouldn't Do That. Housed in a striking sleeve inspired by a Barney Bubbles image, Roadhawks was an indispensable album in Hawkwind's discography of the 1970s. Long deleted and never released on CD, Roadhawks finally makes it's official debut on Atomhenge. The reissue has been re-mastered from the original United Artists master tapes, fully restores the album artwork and includes a replica Roadhawks poster originally included with the first pressing of the album.

Neil Innes/How Sweet to Be an Idiot ....import CD $19.99
Digitally remastered and expanded edition. Neil Innes' sad and sudden death in December 2019 robbed the world of one of Britain's most original and unique musical and comic talents. Innes made his name in the 1960s with the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band before diversifying in the 1970s into TV, solo and other projects - including the famous and much-loved Beatles pastiche The Rutles. How Sweet to Be an Idiot was Neil's debut solo album, first issued on United Artists in 1973, it's title and cover design reflecting Neil's eccentric sense of humor. The album has never been reissued on CD in it's original format and sleeve - until now! Cherry Red were working with Neil on this project prior to his tragic death. The package boasts 10 bonus tracks, some of them previously unissued, including the different single arrangement of the album's title track and various A- and B-sides (including single mixes of the Bonzos' 'Slush' and 'Music from Rawlinson's End' from their album Let's Make Up and Be Friendly).
Jefferson Airplane/Long John Silver & Thirty Seconds over Winterland ....import 2 CD Set $22.99
Digitally remastered two CD set containing a pair of albums from the iconic rock band: Long John Silver and Thirty Seconds over Winterland. Released on the band's Grunt Records imprint in 1972 and 1973 respectively, the albums would be the final works by the band in the 1970s. Long John Silver was the band's final studio album of the 1970s and featured Grace Slick, Paul Kantner, Jack Casady, Jorma Kaukonen, Papa John Creach, and John Barbata. Issued in July 1972, Long John Silver caused controversy thanks to the album artwork (which was designed to fold out into a marijuana "stash" box). Removal of an inner bag depicting a layer of cigars would reveal a photograph of marijuana on the fold out sleeve. Upon the album's release, Jefferson Airplane undertook an extensive American tour, recording shows at the Chicago Auditorium and at Winterland in San Francisco. The highlights of these concerts were released on the album Thirty Seconds over Winterland in April 1973 and proved to be the band's final release of the 1970s.

2020 release from the Austin, TX based prolific guitarist, vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. EJ Vol II follows it's predecessor from 2016 which was simply EJ, an all-acoustic collection of songs which showcased nine original compositions and four covers. Johnson's approach was deeply honest, intimate, personal and delivered with organic emotion. With EJ Vol II, he presents new repertoire that combines electric and acoustic arrangements and once again represents a collection of originals with a couple of select covers.
Paul Kantner, Grace Slick and David Freiberg/Baron Von Tollbooth & The Chrome Nun [Remastered Edition] ....import CD $19.99
Digitally remastered edition of the legendary 1973 album by Jefferson Airplane members Paul Kantner, Grace Slick and David Freiberg. The album followed on from Kantner and Slick's experiments on the albums Blows Against the Empire (1970) and Sunfighter (1971) and was recorded at Wally Heider's Studio in San Francisco at the close of 1972, just as Jefferson Airplane were winding down as a unit. As with Kantner's and Slick's previous ventures outside the Airplane, Baron von Tollbooth... pushed boundaries and eschewed any commercial considerations. The resulting album was experimental and progressive in nature but was also a fine work. The album sessions featured contributions from fellow Jefferson Airplane members John Barbata, Jack Casady, Jorma Kaukonen and Papa John Creach along with some of the finest alumni from the West Coast rock music scene of the late '60s / early '70s such as Jerry Garcia and Mickey Hart, David Crosby, Chris Ethridge, and Craig Chaquico (later to join Jefferson Starship). The album remains one of the great unsung albums to emerge from the Jefferson Airplane family tree. This Esoteric Recordings edition has been newly remastered and restores the original album artwork in a digipack.
King Crimson/Cat Food EP ....CD EP $9.99
Expanded 50th anniversary edition of King Crimson's first non-album single from 1970, featuring artwork derived from Peter Sinfield's original 7" cover. Featuring Cat Food (single version), Groon (original single B-side), a live version of Cat Food performed by the current KC line-up in Toronto in September 2019, and an alternate mix of the album version of Cat Food prepared by David Singleton as part of the KC50 digital series. There were few less likely performances on the UK's premier chart television show Top of the Pops than that of a temporary line-up of King Crimson miming to the band's early 1970 single release Cat Food. The band's first (and only) - isolated from album release - foray into the fickle world of the singles market did not, even with a TOTP appearance, produce a hit to dominate UK and worldwide charts but, along with its quirky instrumental non-album b side Groon, has achieved long-term appeal with King Crimson fans. A longer version of Cat Food would appear on the band's second studio album in May 1970, In the Wake of Poseidon and a live version of Groon was a highlight of the Earthbound Live album (while numerous studio takes were featured on both the 40th anniversary CD/DVD-A of In the Wake of Poseidon and the Sailors' Tales boxed set. Cat Food also appeared in a powerful version on The Great Deceiver boxed set and made a lauded return to KC's repertoire on the band's 2019's world tour.

Roedelius/Selbstportrait Wahre Liebe ....CD $18.99
The first part of Hans-Joachim Roedelius's Selbstportrait (Self-Portrait) series was originally released under the title Sanfte Musik on Sky Records in 1979. Now, some forty years later, a new installment has arrived in the form of an album entitled Wahre Liebe. One of the initiators of the Berlin Zodiak Free Arts Lab in 1967, Roedelius went on to co-found Kluster/Cluster and Harmonia, unleashing a new and free form of music which, with the benefit of hindsight, can be considered a milestone in the historical context of kosmische musik and krautrock. In the late 1970s, Roedelius began to increase his activities as a solo artist, building up an extensive and multifaceted body of work over the ensuing decades. Across this timeline, the Self-Portrait albums represent an intensely personal and noteworthy corpus in their own right. In 2014, Bureau B founder Gunther Buskies approached Roedelius to suggest that he record a new installment for the Self-Portrait series, using the same instruments which dominated his productions in the late 1970s: a Farfisa organ, drum machine, tape-delay and a Rhodes. Together with Onnen and Wolf Bock, the album Wahre Liebe (True Love) was created. Roedelius explains the process: "The Wahre Liebe album was commissioned by Gunther Buskies, who wanted to know if the elderly Roedelius, armed with vintage tools, was capable of 'beaming back' to his youthful years, reaching into the sonic past of the Self-Portrait series to deliver similarly persuasive results. What better proof could there be that true love, age-old love never dies..."

T. Rex/Electric Warrior ....Hybrid SACD $39.99
Limited SACD hybrid disc. Mobile Fidelity presents the music's reverb, colors and strings in full-tilt glory. This Hybrid SACD contains a 'Red Book' CD Layer which is playable on most conventional CD players! At once sardonic, flamboyant, and trashy, T. Rex's uncommonly unique Electric Warrior catapulted leader Marc Bolan to stardom, triggered an ongoing fascination with glam rock, and launched a movement that soon involved David Bowie, Roxy Music, Mott the Hoople, and more. Yet none of those namesake artists ever released a record that out-glammed, out-innuendoed, out-thrusted, or out-camped Electric Warrior - named the 160th Greatest Album of All Time by Rolling Stone and included in the celebrated book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's state-of-the-art mastering system, strictly limited to 2,500 numbered copies, and housed in a gatefold mini-sleeve, the label's hybrid SACD gives the 1971 landmark the widescreen sound quality it has always deserved. Tony Visconti's warm, reverb-soaked production and Roy Thomas Baker's ace engineering remain two of the work's most famous and revered aspects. Here, the production and music can be experienced in all it's full-tilt glory, from the subtle albeit elegant classical touches to the instantly identifiable Les Paul guitar licks to Bolan's sensual, wispy, are-they-or-aren't-they-serious vocals.
Tangerine Dream/Recurring Dreams ....import CD $17.99
Newly reworked aelected classics by the 2020 lineup of the legendary pioneers of electronica and ambient. Including "Phaedra," "Stratosfear," "Tangram" and "Yellowstone Park" Tangerine Dream have been a fundamental influence on electronic music since Edgar Froese founded the band in West Berlin in 1967. Providing the groundwork for multiple electronic music genres including ambient and electronica, inspiring musicians and other art forms, from The Future Sound of London to Porcupine Tree, the widely popular TV show Stranger Things (for which their music also featured in) to seminal video game Grand Theft Auto V (for which they helped to write the soundtrack). The group have also received seven Grammy nominations, written over 100 studio albums and were led by Froese, who developed an instantly recognisable synth-based instrumental music based on a meditative musical experience that came to prominence in the 70s and 80s. Fast-forward to the present day, when popular culture is rediscovering synthesizers and sequencers, and Tangerine Dream are in the mix of an exciting time for an evolving electronic music scene. Modern Tangerine Dream has seen the beginning of 'The Quantum Years,' which began as a concept and series of musical sketches by Froese before he passed away in 2015. Remaining band members Thorsten Quaeschning, Ulrich Schnauss and Hoshiko Yamane worked together to realize Edgar's visions and expectations of a conceptual body of work that attempts to translate quantum philosophy into music. The new direction led to the 2017 album Quantum Gate, which was described by The Guardian as their "most interesting release in years." With Recurring Dreams, the new generation of Tangerine Dream pay homage to the band's timeless beginnings with captivating and emotional renditions of selected classics, such as "Phaedra," "Stratosfear," "Tangram" and "Yellowstone Park." These new recordings are not just re-recorded covers but heartfelt and individual interpretations, featuring all generations of synths and sequencers, added layers and new arrangements, applying Froese's new quantum dream to these highly influential tracks. Recurring Dreams also includes the new version of "Claymore Mine Stalking" that was used in the popular 2018 black metal movie Lords of Chaos. This CD edition of Recurring Dreams is presented in a 6-panel digipack sleeve.
Tangerine Dream with Roedelius & Frick/Klangtraube [Edgar Froese Memorial Day 2019] ....import CD $23.99
For the 4th Edgar Froese Memorial Day (EFMD) on 26th January 2019 at the Ballhaus Rixdorf in Berlin, Bianca Froese-Acquaye invited Hans Joachim Roedelius to perform at the event. Roedelius is an electro pioneer and co-founder of the legendary Berlin Zodiak Free Arts Lab (Zodiak Club), the birth place of many Krautrock and electronic bands, including Edgar Froese and Tangerine Dream. Hans-Joachim's soulful piano playing blends in fantastically with the rhythmic beats and sounds of Paul Frick, member of the Berlin based Techno ensemble Brandt Brauer Frick, who already appeared several times as guest musician at live concerts with Tangerine Dream, and the distinctive synth sounds of Thorsten Quaeschning, long-time member and musical director of Tangerine Dream. Hoshiko Yamane, also a member of Tangerine Dream since 2011, completes the session with her extraordinary violin play by adding her special timbre we all know so well from her TD sessions. The Klangtraube is a very unique, almost meditative piece of music that invites the listener to dream. In view of this current time of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, this piece of music reflects the spirit of the Zeitgeist very well. A piece of music for dreaming and reflection, a sound journey into another dimension, wide and intangible, like the hearts and minds that will be opened, the Klangtraube is a dignified and extraordinary session of four exceptional musicians in memory of Edgar Froese.
Vanilla Fudge/Vanilla Fudge ....Hybrid SACD $39.99
Created during the peak of heightened chemical, musical, and social experimentation, the band's self-titled debut aims for sonic and mental expansion via psychedelic means. Consisting primarily of elongated covers of then-modern works by the Beatles, Supremes, Curtis Mayfield, and others, the album shape-shifts the familiar into original, uncharted excursions that lead to colorful dimensions. Musically and thematically, the 1967 magnum opus occupies territory located between high-art seriousness and rule-breaking outrageousness. It's maverick streak treats reverential scripts with inviting strangeness, offbeat vision, and zero pretension. More than 50 years after it's original release, the symphonic arrangements now sound more ambitious, direct, mesmerizing, and influential than before courtesy of a superior mono restoration. Mastered from the original master tapes and strictly limited to 2,000 copies on hybrid SACD, Mobile Fidelity's reissue unveils the baroque underpinnings, gorgeous harmonies, grinding soul, and low-end-plumbing organ riffs that help make the quartet's fare unique. The timing of the off-kilter tempos and improvisational movements gets cast into unpolluted light, with the collective's expert shading and deliberate tonality emerging as major components of the songs. Vastly improved, too, is the powerful, jazz-inspired drumming of Carmine Appice. Seated deep and wide in the vast soundstage, his playing illuminates the genius of Vanilla Fudge's arguably most valuable asset-a sense of dynamics and surprise that contributes to a rich, malt-like musical thickness true to the band's name. There's not another album like Vanilla Fudge in the entire rock canon.
Various Artists/Miniatures One + Two ....import double CD $22.99
Repressing. Two CD release containing both volumes of Morgan Fisher's groundbreaking releases: The first volume released in 1980, followed 20 years later by Volume Two. In '80, overwhelmed with concepts for potential releases, Fisher decided to see how many of these ideas he might be able to squeeze onto just one album. Rather than performing everything himself, he invited 50 musicians he admired to send in tracks of up to one minute in length. They responded with unanimous enthusiasm, and Miniatures was born out of Morgan's precise editing and sequencing of these tracks, providing a unique snapshot of the cutting-edge music of the period and achieving legendary status amongst those who cherish such creativity and individuality in the process. Featuring artists as diverse as the Residents, Robert Fripp, XTC's Andy Partridge, Pete Seeger, Robert Wyatt and the Pretenders' Martin Chambers, as well as cover artwork contributed by Ralph Steadman, 113 tracks. Cherry Red.
Various Artists/Teil 1 Kraut!: Die Innovativen Jahre Des Krautrock 1968-1979 ....import 2 CD Set $36.99
Progressive Rock from Germany! Never before has there been a comparable compilation! Towards the end of the 1960s, German bands began their first attempts to emancipate themselves stylistically from their US and British role models. Progrock and psychedelia from our country were initially smiled at internationally and disparagingly called 'Krautrock' by cult DeeJay John Peel, among others. Unorthodox formations could not be pigeonholed, and so a scene with a wide musical range was created. With the release of the first of a total of four issues, Bear Family marks another milestone on the way to a comprehensive documentation of the history of popular music in Germany from the early 1960s to the mid-1980s. With 'Kraut! Die innovativen Jahre des Krautrock 1968-1979' we will release a double CD every three months in 2020 with a booklet of about 100 pages and biographies of each band, an exquisite selection of the exciting and influential bands of those days, some of which caused a sensation far beyond Germany.

He has produced over 100 solo albums that have sold more than 50 million copies. Neil Young/Homegrown ....CD $18.99
Neil Young puts it best: "This album is the unheard bridge between Harvest and Comes a Time." Recorded between June 1974 and January 1975, Homegrown was intended to come out in 1975 before Neil cancelled the release. The album has remained unreleased until now, achieving a legendary status among Neil Young fans in the process. The album is made up of twelve Neil Young songs, of which seven are previously unreleased - "Separate Ways," "Try," "Mexico," "Kansas," We Don't Smoke It No More," "Vacancy" and "Florida" (a spoken word narration). Also included are the first recordings of "Love Is a Rose," "Homegrown," "White Line, "Little Wing," and "Star of Bethlehem" - different versions of which would all later appear on other Neil Young albums. Neil plays solo on some tracks (guitar, piano and harmonica), and is joined by a band of friends on other tracks, including Levon Helm, Ben Keith, Karl T Himmel, Tim Drummond, Emmylou Harris and Robbie Robertson. Recorded in analog, and mastered from the original master tapes, this long-lost album is a wonderful addition to Neil's incomparable catalog.
