Wounded Bird Records was formed in 1998 as a label that specializes in the reissue of albums from the 60's, 70's and early 80's on compact disc. All of their releases are properly licensed from the owner of the original masters, in most cases the original record label and sometimes the artists themselves. They strive to reproduce the original album cover artwork, converted to accommodate the CD size format.

Paul McCandless is probably best known as a member of the new age jazz group Oregon. This release, one of his solo projects, has never been issued on CD, until now! Originally issued in 1979 on Elektra Records, the album features Art Lande, David Samuels & Eddie Gomez.

Considered by many to be the godfather of folk music, with an illustrious career spanning almost 70 years, Pete Seeger released "Circles & Seasons" in 1979 on Warner Brothers Records.

"The World Of Pete Seeger" was originally released as a two record set in 1972 on Columbia Records. It is a "greatest hits" collection of his best work from the 1960s, including "We Shall Overcome," "Where Have All The Flowers Gone," "Little Boxes" and "Turn! Turn! Turn!"

Originally called The Rogues, Mandala was a Canadian group that featured guitarist Domenic Troiano, who also was a member of the James Gang, The Guess Who and Bush. The band played a revved up mixture of psychedelic rock, blue-eyed soul, funk and R&B, making them a very popular act on the '60s R&B scene in their hometown of Toronto. They released one album on Atlantic Records in 1968 which makes its worldwide CD debut here.

Following in the footsteps of Santana, Macondo fused Latin Music with rock music. They issued one album on Atco Records in 1972 which now, thanks to Wounded Bird, makes its worldwide CD debut.

Quill's biggest claim to fame was their appearance at the legendary Woodstock festival. They released only one album in 1970 on Cotillion Records, a mixture of late '60s psychedelia and the Boston sound from that era. It has been a coveted collector's item for decades and is almost impossible to find. Wounded Bird now proudly presents it on compact disc! Featuring the original album cover artwork, fans will be elated with this release.

Riff Raff was a rock group fronted by bassist Doug Lubahn, who will be recognized by Doors fans as the bass player on most of their albums. He was also one of the original members of the legendary psychedelic group Clear Light. "Vinyl Futures" was originally released in 1981 on Atco Records and is now making its worldwide CD debut.

Mike Finnigan is a keyboard/vocalist who has worked with many big names in music, including Hendrix, CSN, Dave Mason, BS&T...the list goes on. This self titled album, originally released on Warner Brothers Records in 1976, is making its worldwide CD debut. Guests on this album include Maria Muldaur, Pete Carr & Amos Garrett.

Beast was a rock group from Denver whose self titled album on Cotillion Records made the Billboard charts in 1969. The LP, which has been a hard-to-find collector's item, is now presented by Wounded Bird on compact disc for the first time anywhere in the world!

Harem Scarem was a hard rock-heavy metal band from Toronto, Canada formed in 1987 by guitarist Pete Lesperance and former Blind Vengeance singer Harry Hess. They issued numerous albums from the late '80s through early 2000s on Warner Brothers Records and had chart success in their native Canada while also gaining popularity in Japan. Until now, most of their albums have only been available as high priced-hard to find Japanese imports. Wounded Bird now makes the body of their catalog available - most featuring bonus tracks. The debut album, Harem Scarem, released in 1991, charted at #68 on the Canadian album chart. It features their hit singles "Slowly Slipping Away," "Honestly" and "Love Reaction." This Wounded Bird reissue contains three bonus tracks, including an acoustic version of "Slowly Slipping Away." 1995's Voice of Reason marked a change in the band's musical style. It features the single "blue" and this reissue contains one bonus track, an acoustic version of "Candle." This special edition release of the band's 1997 album, Believe, which also went under the name "Karma Cleansing" features three bonus tracks. Live Ones from 1997 features a total of twenty-two tracks. With the 1998 album, Big Bang Theory, the band decided to take on a more modern sound. It features their last single "So Blind." B-Side Collection was issued in 1998 and features many live tracks and two bonus tracks including an acoustic version of the band’s last single "So Blind." Live at the Siren was originally issued in 1998 and features two bonus tracks. Ballads was issued in 1999. This Wounded Bird reissue is the 17 track version of the album that features two bonus tracks. By the time Last Live was issued in 2000, the band had changed their name to Rubber but were still going by Harem Scarem in Japan, where they remained popular, and the rest of the world. They eventually went back to their original name. This Wounded Bird reissue features two bonus tracks, for a total of fifteen tracks. The 2001 album, Rocks, reissue features two bonus tracks.

Mother's Finest was a funky R&B group that released numerous successful albums in the 1970s. Their very first album, on RCA Records, was titled "Mother's Finest." They released a charting album in 1976, on Epic Records, also called "Mother's Finest." Wounded Bird now combines these together on a two CD set, along with a previously released album recorded in 1973. Most of this material is making its worldwide CD debut.

Candi Staton was an R&B singer who had a number of fine albums on the Warner Brothers label in the early 1980s, including this, her self titled album which came out in 1980. It features Steve Kahn, Jocelyn Brown, Fonzi Thornton, Ron Carter & The Brecker Brothers.

The brainchild of Johnathan Hughston and David Ferguson, Nine Ways To Win was a dance/techno group from the early 1980s. They released one self-titled album on Atlantic Records in 1983, which now makes its worldwide CD debut.

Until December was a group signed to San Francisco's 415 label, who issued one fine album and many groovy 12" singles in the mid-1980s. Their sound is a cross between techno-pop, disco and new wave. This 2 CD set pretty much encompasses their entire recorded work, with Disc #1 featuring the full album plus a bunch of non-LP singles. Disc #2 includes their 12" remix versions of their best tracks. Most of this material is making its worldwide CD debut. Check out the 3 different versions of their cover of Blondie’s "Call Me."

Best known as the guitarist for Focus, Jan Akkerman has also issued numerous popular solo albums throughout his long career. "Akkerman 3" was originally issued in 1979 on Atlantic Records as a Europe only release and now makes its world-wide CD debut.

Alexis Korner, along with John Mayall, is one of the fathers of British blues who helped launch the careers of many top rock & blues stars from the 1960s. "Bootleg Him!" is a 20 track collection of odds & ends from his early career, originally issued in 1972 as a two-record set on Warner Brothers Records. Musicians appearing with Alexis on this album include Robert Plant, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, Charlie Watts, Graham Bond, Paul Rodgers, Andy Fraser and Cyril Davies.

Jazz fusion keyboardist Jeff Lorber had numerous charting albums in the 1980s on the Arista label. "Step By Step" reached #90 on the Billboard charts when originally issued in 1985. This Wounded Bird reissue features four extended remix bonus tracks.

Australian born Billy Thorpe was a big star in his own country as a member of the early '60s pop-instro group The Aztecs and the star of his own TV show. He had a top 20 US hit with his 1979 album "Children Of The Sun." He followed that up with another gold album, "21st Century Man," originally issued on Elektra Records in 1980. Wounded Bird now presents it on CD, in the 21st century no less, making him truly a 21st century man! This ambitious progressive rock album will delight his many fans.

Southern California roots rock heroes, The Blasters were founded in the late '70s by brothers Dave and Phil Alvin along with Bill Bateman on drums and John Bazz on bass. In the early '80s they added members Gene Taylor on piano and Steve Berlin and Lee Allen on baritone and tenor sax, which helped to complete the evolution of their signature sound. With their raw and powerful mixture of blues, R&B, country and early rock & roll the band gained a loyal following with punk, rockabilly and independent music fans before hitting the mainstream charts and being propelled into the national spotlight. The band has reunited a few times in the last decade and Dave Alvin continues to have a successful career as a solo artist and producer. "The Blasters" reached #36 on the Billboard charts when originally released in 1982. "Non Fiction" reached # 95 on the Billboard charts when originally released in 1983. "Hard Line" reached # 86 on the Billboard charts when originally released in 1985.

This early '70s boogie, blues-rock band from Boston drew comparisons to Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears, particularly due to their use of several instruments. Their first two albums, originally released on Warner Bros. in '72 and '73 are offered here for the first time ever on CD. Their 1972 debut album features a guest appearance by Jeff "Skunk" Baxter (Ultimate Spinach, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers) and includes some great instrumental moments on harmonica, sax, piano and organ. Their second album from 1973 is a fantastic representation of early '70s blues-rock from this under-appreciated Boston band.

This metal band from Japan started making albums in the mid 1980s and were a huge success in their homeland and in Europe. Although they never made it big in America, they were appreciated by many metal and hard rock fans who were aware of their existence. "Masters Of Loudness" is a two CD set featuring their best material. This CD has been previously available only as a high priced, hard to find Japanese import.

The leader of the group Farrenheit was Charlie Farren, who was best known as the lead singer for the Joe Perry Project. This 1987 Warner Bros. album has received rave reviews and some have claimed it to be one of the best rock albums of the 1980s.

Harold Alexander is a jazz saxophonist/flutist who issued a few excellent albums in the early 1970s. "Raw Root," was originally issued on Atlantic Records in 1974 and has never been issued on CD until now. Featured on this album are Lenny White, Richard Davis, George Cables & Billy Alessi. Strings & horns are arranged & conducted by Arif Mardin.

David Amram has ventured into many areas of the jazz world. On "Latin-Jazz Celebration," he presents just that, latin-jazz. This album, originally issued on the Elektra/Musician label in 1982, features a host of jazz luminaries including Machito, Candido, David "Fathead" Newman, Pepper Adams, Paquito D'Rivera and many more. This album is making its worldwide CD debut.

Barnaby Bye was a pop/rock group from the early 1970s, featuring Bobby & Billy Alessi. The group issued two good albums on Atlantic Records, "Room To Grow" and "Touch." Both of these albums are making their worldwide CD debuts. With sounds influenced by The Beatles, Queen, Mark Bolan & Roy Wood, it's amazing these two albums haven't been issued on CD before this.

Alessi features Bobby & Billy Alessi, who got their start when they formed Barnaby Bye in the early 1970s. In 1982, Warner Brothers Records brought them back to the music scene with "Long Time Friends." This album features Eric Johnson, Larry Carlton, Steve Lukather, Patti Austin, Tom Scott, Ernie Watts, Christopher Cross, Victor Feldman & Lenny Castro.

To complete their issuance of the entire Paul Davis catalog, Wounded Bird offers this self-titled album from 1972, not to be confused with the 1983 self-titled album released earlier in 2010. A whopping 10 bonus tracks are included by this singer-songwriter whose soft-rock, country influenced style spawned many, many hits throughout the '70s and '80s.

54-40 was a college rock band from Canada that issued this one great album in 1986 on Warner Brothers Records. Features the track "I Go Blind," which was later covered by Hootie & The Blowfish. Many say 54-40's original version is much better. Fans have been clamoring for this hard to find album on CD and here it is, courtesy of Wounded Bird Records.

Beggars & Thieves was a hard-rock/pop-metal band from New York who issued their self titled first album on Atlantic Records in 1990. Thirty Days Out was a progressive rock group out of New York who issued two excellent albums on Reprise Records in the early 1970s that have been festering in the vaults all these decades. The 1971 debut "Thirty Days Out" was known not just for the music, but for its unique album cover design & packaging (the original LP version being contained in a poster instead of shrink-wrap). Bass player Monte Melnick later became tour manager for legendary punk band The Ramones.

Cheap Trick was a highly successful rock group from Rockford, Illinois, led by guitarist Rick Nielsen, who played a mixture of hard rock, new wave, and punk that drew on '60s pop influences. "Come As You Are" hit the Billboard charts in 1976 & has 2 bonus tracks. "Send It" reached # 52 on the Billboard charts in 1977 & has 2 bonus tracks. "So So Satisfied" hit the Billboard charts in 1977 & features 4 bonus tracks. "Is It Still Good To Ya" was the duo's highest charting album at # 20 in 1978, plus 3 bonus tracks. "Stay Free" reached # 23 on the Billboard charts in 1979 & features 5 bonus tracks. "A Musical Affair" reached # 38 on the Billboard charts in 1980 & has 2 bonus tracks. Jon Lord, who was one of the founding members of Deep Purple, collaborated with Tony Ashton on this album during a break from Deep Purple touring in '74. They then played the project live at the London Palladium later that year while the BBC captured another London performance. A rockin' mixture of boogie woogie, and rhythm & blues, complete with Hammond organ, the album also featured guest musicians Ron Wood, Cozy Powell, Peter Frampton, Mick Grabham & Doris Troy.

Adrian Belew is best known as one of the guitarists from King Crimson. He has also issued numerous critically acclaimed solo albums. Wounded Bird has taken one of those, 'Young Lions,' and combined it with a rare EP issued from the same era, 'Pretty Pink Rose', to create a sort of two-fer.

The Blues Brothers, the brainchild of John Belushi & Dan Aykroyd, first appeared on Saturday Night Live in the late 1970s. Their debut album reached number one on the Billboard charts. This album, Made In America, reached # 49 when originally released in 1980 and has been out of print for years.

This is a long lost gem from 1968 by a little known, somewhat psychedelic group called Bo Grumpus. This album, originally issued on Atco Records, has never been issued on CD before and fans from this era have been asking for it.

Boulder features Stan Bush, best known for his various AOR incarnations, many with his backing band Barrage. The Boulder album, released in 1979 was one a one shot deal for Elektra Records and makes its CD debut here.

Twin singer-songwriter duo Ernie & Earl Cate made a name for themselves in the mid '60s when they brought their blend of bluesy and soulful country-rock to venues across the South. Early contemporaries of Ronnie Hawkins and Levon Helm, they were signed to Asylum Records in 1975, recording these four albums that showcase their expert musicianship and prolific songwriting. This 1975 debut self-titled album was produced by guitarist Steve Cropper, who also appeared on the record along with Levon Helm, Donald "Duck" Dunn and Poco bass guitarist Timothy B. Schmit, who later joined the Eagles. The album reached the Billboard charts. Also produced by Steve Cropper, their second album on Asylum from 1976, In One Eye & Out the Other, features 10 songs including "Start All Over Again," "Travelin' Man" and "Music Making Machine." Their third Asylum album from 1977, The Cate Brothers Band, includes the tracks "Stanger At The Door", "Let It Slide" and "Give Me A Reason." The brothers' fourth and final album from 1979 'Fire on the Tracks' reached number 24 on the album rock charts and featured their hit single "Union Man," its popularity spurred by a previous performance on the Austin City Limits TV show.

Harry Chapin was a folk-rock singer/songwriter who had numerous charting albums in the 1970s on Elektra Records. He tragically died at the early age of 38. "Heads & Tales" was his very first album, hitting # 60 on the Billboard charts in 1972. This CD features one bonus track, the 8 minute song "Barefoot Boy." "Portrait Gallery" reached # 53 on the Billboard charts in 1975.

Chase was a jazz-rock horn band masterminded by trumpet player extraordinaire Bill Chase. The only issued three albums, all of which made the Billboard charts when originally issued in the early 1970s. Tragically this all came to an end when most of the band, including Bill, was killed in a plane crash in 1974. Their music lives on with these three excellent albums, gathered together here as three albums on two CDs.

Allan Clarke was one of the original members of The Hollies. He has had numerous solo albums over the years, one of the hardest to find being 'Legendary Heroes'. Originally issued in 1980 on Elektra Records, it features a guest appearance by Billy Thorpe and is making its CD debut.

A Foot In Cold Water was a Canadian progressive rock group that issued a handful of albums in the early 1970s. This southern blues-rock group from Macon, Georgia was influenced by UK bands such as Cream, John Mayall's Blues Breakers along with acts like Booker T. & the MG's. Although they had a large and loyal following and released a number of albums on various labels, they never quite rose to the level of popularity of their peers like the Allman Brothers or The Marshall Tucker Band. Their only charting album was 'Redwing' on the Atco labe, which makes its CD debut here and features the extraordinary vocals & guitar work of Dru Lombar.

Daryl Hall & John Oates is one of the most successful duos in pop music. They have had numerous top charting albums. Morning was an early 1970s groups with great harmonies and a sound is reminiscent of Crosby, Stills & Nash. They issued two fine albums, one on Vault Records and one on Fantasy Records. Steve Morse started his career as the lead guitarist for the Dixie Dregs. He then formed the Steve Morse Band which is a high energy fusion-rock band featuring Steve's intense guitar playing. Mountain was the brainchild of Leslie West, Felix Pappalardi & Corky Laing. They released a handful of popular albums on the Windfall label in the early 1970s. Pacific Gas & Electric was a blues/rock group out of California who had a number of charting albums in the late 1960's-early 1970's. The group was headed up by vocalist Charlie Allen. Originally hitting the charts in 1971, "PG&E" is making its worldwide CD debut.

The first time on CD for this long sought after early '70s Elektra album from Canadian rockers Painter. Includes their hit "West Coast Woman." Guitarist Dan Lowe is credited with developing the QSound recording technology which was later used for recordings by Pink Floyd, Sting and others and is also used in cell phones.

Passport, the eponymous debut album from 1972 for the Klaus Doldinger headed jazz-funk project. On CD for the first time! Second Passport is the second album from 1972. The Sinceros were a new-wave pop group from the early 1980s. They issued two fine albums on Epic Records. This CD release of "Pet Rock" is very unique. This is the worldwide CD debut for all of this material.

Legendary electronic composer Edgar Varese has a cult following and had a profound impact on a young Frank Zappa. Recordings of his works are far and few between. Wildlife was part of Led Zeppelin's Swan Song roster. They only issued one album, the self titled "Wildlife" in 1983. It was produced by Mick Ralphs of Bad Company fame. Fans have been screaming for this album for years! It is now making its worldwide CD debut!

Jesse Colin Young was one of the founding members of The Youngbloods, and had even bigger success as a solo artist, having numerous charting albums throughout the 1970s on Warner Brothers Records.
