Soft Heap was the personal acronym for an assemblage of old friends throughout 1978. Bass guitarist Hugh Hopper and saxophonist Elton Dean (1950-2006) began their long musical partnership during their days with the classic Soft Machine quartet. Keyboardist Alan Gowen (1947-1981) and drummer Pip Pyle (1945-2006) became friends when their respective bands, Gilgamesh and Hatfield & The North, coalesced for special concerts in 1973. Apart from their eponymous record, Soft Heap only gave two concerts in London prior to Alan and Pip reconvening to carry on as National Health. Fortunately, their appearance at London's then premier jazz club, The Phoenix, was recorded onto reel-to-reel tape by audience member Roy Wilbraham. It preserves a striking set of compositions played with panache, beginning with a tender reading of Elton's "Fara" and climaxing with an exhilarating chase through "One For Lee." The recording also reveals a hitherto unreleased composition, Alan Gowen's "Sleeping House." This full length CD is one tasty listening experience, for those with a soft spot for Soft Heap, to sink their teeth into ~ Al Dente style!

Fish first came to the notice of music fans as the front man for neo progressive rock band Marillion. The band had secured a recording deal with EMI records in late 1982 and released their debut album Script For A Jesters Tear in 1983. Further albums including Fugazi and the massively popular Misplaced Childhood album which spawned a number of top twenty singles including Kayleigh ensured that Marillion became on of the biggest British rock bands at the time. The bands final album featuring Fish was Clutching At Straws. Again the band toured in support of that album and following touring duties again began work on the proposed follow up. During the sessions for the follow up Fish left the band and commenced on a solo career that continues to this day. This DVD is the companion release to the Return To Childhood CD which was recorded in Holland during the twentieth anniversary tour in November 2005 to celebrate the release of the Marillion album Misplaced Childhood. The DVD includes the full performance of the Misplaced Childhood album and also other solo material from Fish such as Credo and Big Wedge alongside Marillion classics Market Square Heroes and Incommunicado.

Pianist Steve Miller (1943-1998) formed his trio in the mid-eighties after a lengthy hiatus for technique reevaluation. With young bassist Tony Moore and AMM drummer Eddie Prevost, Steve was now able to improvise freely sans traces of his deep roots in blues and boogie. With time spent in Delivery and Caravan well behind him, Steve's new path lead to a weekly series of concerts billed as "Meetings with Remarkable Saxophonists". At London's Bull & Gate, the diverse talents of Lol Coxhill, Harrison Smith, Elton Dean (1945-2006) and Bobby Wellins rose to meet the spontaneous challenge of improvised music making, with all performances professionally recorded on high speed tape. The special success, in our opinion, was the splendid meeting of altoist Elton Dean and the Steve Miller Trio. Two extended sets of continuous collective improvisation, strongly rooted in the powerful modern jazz aesthetic, comprise this nearly hour long CD. With rare concert photos and notes from Steve complimenting this important document, the Steve Miller Trio "Meets Elton Dean" is indeed a musical meeting to be treasured.

Australian guitarist Kevin Peek has played on many recordings over the years in his capacity as a session guitarist. Kevin has recorded with the likes of Cliff Richard, Leo Sayer, Mary Hopkin, Manfred Mann, Kiki Dee and Shirley Bassey among others. More famously Kevin formed the classical/rock fusion band Sky alongside John Williams and Herbie Flowers experiencing massive commercial success the world over. Life and Other Games was Kevin’s third solo album originally released in 1982 while Kevin was still a member of Sky. The Groundhogs started life in the sixties as John Lee's Groundhogs. The John Lee In Question was of course John Lee Hooker. The band began their recording career with the album Scratching The Surface. It was however the bands third album Thank Christ For The Bomb that kick started the bands career and the follow up album Split in 1970 saw the band strike out to a bigger audience. Led by the enigmatic guitarist Tony McPhee the band toured heavily throughout the seventies and released a great many popular albums albums. After a short time apart Tony McPhee re formed the band in the eighties and continued to pull in large audiences. This DVD comes from a concert filmed at the Butter Market in Shrewsbury in 2003. The DVD is particularly interesting as it captures the classic line up of the Groundhogs who had reformed for the first time since the seventies. The line up included Tony McPhee alongside bassist Pete Cruickshank and drummer Ken Pustlenick. This release includes the full two hour concert plus an hour of extra on the road footage from across the years. Also included is an in depth interview with Tony McPhee.

Mike Osborne (1941-2007) was an alto saxophonist without a peer among his fellow country men, a musician of profound personality with a gift for jazz composition. Mike was first heard in the sixties as a soloist of incendiary character in the Mike Westbrook Concert Band, and his never less than passionate sound was ubiquitous through the heyday of British Jazz in the seventies. He recorded and performed extensively with the leading composers of the era; Chris McGregor, Michael Gibbs, and Barry Guy. With John Surman and Alan Skidmore, "Ozzie" as he was affectionately known by friends, formed the celebrated saxophone trio SOS, while also leading numerous bands under his own name. It's no secret that Mike Osborne suffered schizophrenia and in 1983 circumstances forced his retreat from London, robbing both Mike and his audience of further music making. In 2007 Reel Recordings approached Mike's guardian with recently uncovered Hi-Fidelity recordings of the Osborne Quartet in the early eighties, a hitherto undocumented period. Mike was delighted to hear the music back and blessed "Force of Nature" with deep admiration for his fellow musicians; trumpeter Dave Holdsworth, bassist Marcio Mattos, drummer Brian Abrahams. Together they blend the base ingredients of melody, harmony and rhythm toward boiling points beyond belief. To wit, the quartet's non-stop 42 minute performance before an appreciative audience in Koln, Germany. Beat Beat Beat was a German music programme that ran during the sixties. Not to be confused with the other well known German pop programme Beat Club, Beat Beat Beat was broadcast out of Frankfurt commencing in 1966. The programme ran to 26 episodes between its launch in 1966 and the final programme in January 1969 all of which are still in the German television archives. The shows were eclectic affairs and included performances by artists as diverse as Eric Burdon and the New Animals, The Move, Sam and Dave, Cat Stevens and Barry Ryan to name just a few. Volume Three is the Beat Beat Beat series of releases is a mixed bag albeit a rather mixed bag! We have two tracks from The Move including the bands second single I Can Hear The Grass Grow. There is the psychedelically tinged My Friend Jack from The Smoke which was banned in the UK. Three tracks from Liverpool band The Searchers including the hits Sweets For My Sweet and Love Potion Number Nine and finally we have two massive hits from the Tremeloes with Silence Is Golden and Here Comes My Baby which as I am sure everyone knows was written by Cat Stevens.

Jefferson Starship grew out of the San Francisco band Jefferson Airplane. The band released their debut album Dragonfly in early 1974 and since that time the band has enjoyed massive success on the world stage both with albums and concert appearances. Rather like fellow San Francisco band The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Starship find themselves in the twenty first century with as much interest in their career as they had in the sixties and seventies. The band still led by founder member Paul Kantner and joined occasionally by fellow founder member Marty Balin still tour regularly and record occasionally. The band however does have a large archive of live recordings made over the years and stored away in the vault. Similar to the Grateful Dead's "Dick’s Picks" series, in early 2008 Jefferson Starship launch their own official live archive series Mick's Picks. The live recordings have been chosen and curated by the bands current manager Michael Gaiman. This three disc recording comes from a series of European dates played by the band in the summer of 2005. The line up for this performance was; founder Paul Kantner- vocals, 12-string electric guitars; fellow Jefferson Starship member David Freiberg- vocals, acoustic guitar; Diana Mangano- vocals; Mark "Slick" Aguilar- vocals, electric lead guitar; Chris Smith- keyboards, bass; Prairie Prince- drums; and special guest former Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten- vocals, piano. Material performed at this concert included a special rendition of the Grateful Dead classics New Minglewood Blues, I Know You Rider, Deal and Dark Star alongside Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship classics such as; Somebody To Love, You Me & Pooneil, White Rabbit, Somebody To Love and Jane. As with all the live recordings in the series this live album comes directly from the Jefferson Starship archive and is overseen by Michael Gaiman. Each set is the concert in its entirety with no cuts or edits.

Canadian born Corky Laing is probably best known as the drummer with Mountain. Corky Joined the band shortly after Mountain played at the famous Woodstock Festival. Whilst with Mountain Corky Laing recorded three studio albums before the band split. Following the split Corky along with Mountain guitarist Leslie West formed a rock three piece with former Cream bassist Jack Bruce. West Bruce and Laing recorded two studio albums and a live album before West and Laing re formed Mountain along with Felix Papplardi. Since 1974 Corky and Leslie have led Mountain through various line ups and recordings and continue to record and perform today at numerous concerts across the world. More recently Corky Laing and Leslie West published their own book of on the road stories entitled Nantucket Sleighride and other On The Road Stories which sold exceedingly well. Stick It is the next stage on from the book and on this double CD audio book Corky Laing re tells many of the stories associated with working in a leading rock band over the last forty years. The stories are told in an incredibly frank, engaging and amusing manner and will appeal also to those people who may not necessarily be fans of Corky Laing's work with Mountain and as such should appeal to fans of rock biographies. Gong Acid Mothers was the latest chapter in the seemingly endless regenerating story of Gong. Following a concert with Gong at the end of 2001 In Blackburn of all places Daevid Allen caught site of a Gong poster advertising the concert alongside a poster advertising a performance of the ballet Swan Lake. It set Daevid thinking and changes were afoot within Gong. It was this particular incident coupled with Daevid receiving a love letter that convinced him that perhaps it was time to once again shed the skin and move onto the next phase of Gong, which would turn out to be Gong Acid Mothers which would see collaboration between Gong and the band Acid Mothers Temple. The collaboration proved a fruitful one and a well received album was released in late 2003. Gene Loves Jezebel was formed in 1981 by brothers Jay and Michael Aston. Since that time the band has released a number of critically acclaimed and highly successful albums. The band now featuring Jay Aston and former Generation X guitarist James Stevenson continue to record and perform both in the UK and in America. Anthony Phillips was a founder member of the British Rock band Genesis. The band recorded two singles and the album From Genesis To Revelation before leaving Decca and signing with Charisma to record the Trespass album. Anthony recorded the albums From Genesis To Revelation and Trespass and also performed a great many gigs before deciding to leave the band following a particularly bad bout of stage fright and also suffering a debilitating bout of bronchial pneumonia. It was between the years 1970 and the release of his debut album The Geese And The Ghost in 1977 that many fans lost sight of Anthony Phillips. In actual fact much of the material that would make up the Geese And The Ghost would be written during this time. The Geese and the Ghost was originally released in 1977 and features performances from Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins alongside Anthony.1984 was originally released in 1981 and was critically well received. Based on the George Orwell novel 1984 Anthony Phillips is responsible for most of the playing on the album save for some percussion from Morris Pert and also percussion, Vocals and keyboards from co producer Richard Scott. This reissue has been re mastered for this release and also contains a second disc which includes outtakes and demos of the material that went on to from the original album. Space Ritual is the band founded by former Hawkwind member Nik Turner. The other members of the band are also former members of Hawkwind including Thomas Crimble, Dave Anderson, Mick Slattery, Terry Ollis and Del Dettmar. The band takes their name from the fourth Hawkwind album Space Ritual. In addition to playing their own brand of Space Rock the band also play classic Hawkwind music from the seventies and by and large the period that all the members were members of Hawkwind. Satiricon was filmed at the Butter Market Shrewsbury in 2004 and captures the band in full Space Rock mode. The DVD features the band powering through the Hawkwind classics Brainstorm, Orgone Accumulator, Sonic Attack, Ejection, You Shouldn’t Do That, Master Of The Universe and of course Silver Machine. Alongside the Hawkwind material the band also perform newer material such as Children Of The Sun, Sonic Savages and Jazzy Jam. Cado Belle came out of Scotland in the mid seventies and immediately created a buzz. Playing a sophisticated blend of soul and rock music the band soon managed to get a record deal and recorded their self titled debut album. Whilst the album was a big success critically the band's record company were a small independent label and due to difficulties failed to capitalise on the buzz created by the bands live performances and the debut album. The line up of the band included Stuart McKillop on keyboards and, Alan Darby on guitar and vocalist Maggie Reilly. The majority of the material was band sourced with McKillop having a hand in most of the compositions. Following the release of the album in 1976 the band continued to play live until 1978 when they recorded an EP entitled The Cado Belle EP. This EP contained a cover of the Boz Scaggs song It's Over which gained the band much radio airplay although sadly a hit single eluded the band. Shortly after the release of the EP the band folded although both McKillop and Reilly would work together again when Maggie Reilly embarked on a solo career. In the meantime Maggie Reilly had a high profile career as vocalist with artists such as Jack Bruce and more importantly Mike Oldfield singing on the massive worldwide hit Moonlight Shadow. Since then Maggie has concentrated on her own solo career releasing her most recent album Rowan in early 2007. Cado Belle Plus is the original Cado Belle album plus the Cado Belle EP added as bonus tracks.

Maggie Reilly has had a varied career that stretches back over thirty years. She first came to prominence with the Scottish band Cado Belle releasing a well respected album and EP while fronting the band From here Maggie went on to find herself in demand as a session singer working with artists such as Morrissey Mullen, Hamish Stuart and Kokomo. Her next career move was perhaps to be the one many people remember her for. Having heard her sing Mike Oldfield invited Maggie to join his band for his 1980 tour. Following this tour Maggie sang on the album QE2 and subsequently joined Oldfield's band full time singing on the albums Five Miles Out and Crises and the hit singles Moonlight Shadow and To France from the album Discovery. Following a short break in order to concentrate on her family Maggie continued to work as a solo artist and also work with many other artists on a number of varied projects including legends like Jack Bruce, Dave Gilmour and Nick Mason (of Pink Floyd fame), Mike Batt, George Harrison and Andrew Eldridge's Sisters Of Mercy. Maggie Reilly's solo albums have included the albums Starcrossed, Echoes, Midnight Sun, Elena, Save It For A Rainy Day and the Best of Compilation There And Back Again. Elena was originally released in 1996 and saw Maggie reunited with her Cado Belle bandmates Stuart MacKillop and Alan Darby. Napoleon Murphy Brock was discovered by Frank Zappa in 1973 while playing R&B covers at a Hawaii nightclub. A few months later, Brock was in Zappa's band and stayed on for three years. Napoleon put together Gregarious Movement shortly afterward. This live recording from 1977 captures Napi's band doing what they did best - putting their own imprint on soul classics. After Frank - 1st Movement is the first CD in Napoleon's archival series of recordings done before or after his time with Frank Zappa. Brock recorded with Zappa in 1983 and did some live shows in 1984 before leaving music for over a decade. Australian band Kangaroo Moon formed in 1988 and their music is an eclectic mix of traditional Celtic music and Aboriginal roots music. Brainville was the band formed by Daevid Allen, Hugh Hopper and the late Pip Pyle, all revered musicians within the Canterbury Scene. The band have built up a good groundswell of support over the years that it has been a going concern which is usually when the three members had a gap in their otherwise busy schedules. Sadly founder member Pip Pyle died in the late summer of 2006 however Daevid Allen and Hugh Hopper decided to continue playing concerts with Brainville with a replacement drummer and to this end they have played a number of well received concerts. This album is sourced from a concert that took place at the Knitting Factory venue in New York in 1998. As with any Daevid Allen related release there will be a great deal of interest in the release which will also stretch beyond the Allen fan base into the Canterbury Sound fan base which is also a large and dedicated fan base. This live recording will be a valuable addition to the catalogue of what is in Daevid Allen's own words "The Most eccentric 3 piece jazz rock outfit of the Canterbury school."

Daevid Allen as most history books will state was a founder member of The Soft Machine. Whilst with the band Soft Machine became the darlings of the underground music scene and Daevid Allen recorded briefly with the band. This recording taken from a performance at the Gong UNCON in November 2006 features a number of songs performed by the University Of Errors that covers the Soft Machine era that featured Daevid Allen. The Amsterdam performance was the first time that UofE performed most of this material live since re-recording the songs for their CD "Jet Propelled Photographs" in 2003. It was a very fitting situation as the entire weekend was a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Daevid's original vision of The Planet Gong in 1966 while a member of The Soft Machine. University of Errors played on the last night of the 3-Day Amsterdam unConvention. Expectations were high and the band did not disappoint. The performance was professionally filmed and recorded. Mixing and editing were done by Daevid and Michael and Harry Williamson a few months later.

Standard Single DVD edition featuring the full concert. Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe was made up of four fifths of the "Classic Yes" line up of the seventies. Put together by Jon Anderson, who wanted to get back to the musical ideals made popular by Yes during the bands massively successful albums of the early to mid seventies, the band recorded one self titled album released in 1989, and then embarked on an extensive and hugely successful worldwide tour. This performance was captured on the American leg of the world tour and finds the band performing not only material from the self titled album but also classic material from Yes including Starship Trooper, Close To The Edge and also And You And I. The tour was not however without its problems and bassist on the tour Tony Levin was unfortunately taken ill and had to drop out at the last minute to be admitted to hospital. This left the band in dire straits as the tour was put in jeopardy and the band had also scheduled the filming of this particular performance. Enter bassist Jeff Berlin, who had curiously enough like Tony Levin, played with Bill Bruford. With only a short period of rehearsal Jeff threw himself into the gap vacated by the departed Tony Levin. Jeff's performance, as was the rest of the band, incredible and captured on film for posterity. The film was previously, briefly available on VHS before being deleted. Now on DVD, this magnificent fan favourite comes in a double digipack with original Roger Dean artwork and also a beautiful DVD photo booklet along with new sleeve notes. The sessions were produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie) and features guest musicians Jack Bruce (Cream), Clem Clempson (Colosseum), Ian Wallace (King Crimson), Simon Phillips (801, Jeff Beck, Toto) and David Sancious (Bruce Springsteen) among others. This edition adds two bonus tracks to the original track list; "Spider", which was the B-side of the original "Surrender" single and "The Spell," a twelve minute outtake from the "Animation" recording sessions. Jon Anderson is universally known as the vocalist with the legendary progressive rock band Yes. Amongst his noted solo albums Jon has released the albums Olias of Sunhillow, Song of Seven and more recently collaborated on the album In Elven Lands which was a musical adaptation of the Lord of the Rings. Towards the end of 2006 Jon Anderson released the boxed set The Lost Tapes. Live in Sheffield 1980 is one of the albums featured within the box. In late 1979 Jon Anderson left Yes for a solo career. He recorded the album Song of Seven and subsequently embarked on an extensive tour in support of the album with a large band that went under the name The New Life Band. The Sheffield Concert was a gig from The Song of Seven Tour in the UK 1980. The 9 piece line-up provides a generous set list including number of key YES songs as well as songs from Jon's solo album 'Song of Seven'. These recordings are not taken from bootleg, but rather recently discovered tapes and the overall quality of these tapes is far better than any of the previous tapes of this show that have been traded amongst fans. Disc Two also contains bonus tracks which were recorded during the rehearsals for the tour and once again the sound quality has been improved for this release and the previously released boxed set.

John Payne has more than paid his dues in the rock business over the last twenty five years having worked with a number of high profile artists such as Roger Daltrey singing backing vocals on Roger's album Under A Raging Moon. He was also briefly the vocalist with ELO II. However for fifteen years John Payne was perhaps best know as the vocalist and bassist with British Rock Band Asia. In that time John wrote and produced seven studio albums that found success across the world including the albums Aqua, Aria, Arena, Aura and Silent Nation. He also played countless concerts with the band in Europe America, South America and Asia. During the tour Fish will release his latest live album Communion. Communion is a double live CD and was recorded at St Mary's Church, Haddington on the Acoustic Night of the Company Convention August 2006. The double album is a 19 track set featuring a number of songs never before played live including Tara which also features Fish's daughter Tara on vocals, and rare acoustic versions performed by Fish and his full band plus special guests including Heather Findlay and Angela Gordon from Mostly Autumn and Anne-Marie Helder (ex-Karnataka) on backing vocals. Kettle Of Fish is the first time on DVD for the 1998 collection of Fish tracks compiled from his various albums over a ten year period. Fish first came to the notice of music fans as the front man for neo progressive rock band Marillion. The band had secured a recording deal with EMI records in late 1982 and released their debut album Script For A Jesters Tear in 1983. Further albums including Fugazi and the massively popular Misplaced Childhhood album which spawned a number of top twenty singles including Kayleigh ensured that Marillion became on of the biggest British rock bands at the time. The bands final album featuring Fish was Clutching At Straws. Again the band toured in support of that album and following touring duties again began work on the proposed follow up. During the sessions for the follow up Fish left the band and commenced on a solo career that continues to this day. This DVD documents the tour undertaken by Fish and his band to promote his then current album Field Of Crows. In addition to including many of the key tracks from the Field Of Crows album such as Zoo Class, The Rookie and Moving Targets this concert also includes songs from previous albums such as Rain Gods With Zippos, Internal Exile and Vigil In A Wilderness Of Mirrors. Gerry F. Fitz-Gerald is a Scottish born guitarist, possessed with kaleidoscopic imagination and commanding ability for improvisational music conversation. Lol Coxhill is a British legend, internationally recognized for his inimitable soprano saxophone sounds and situational performance art. Gerry's discography rests with his psychedelic rock masterpiece Mouseproof, a contribution for Guitar Solos II album (with Fred Frith, Derek Bailey, Hans Reichel), and Coxhill's Fleas in Custard record, while Lol's catalogue is now a published book. In 1975 the duo resided with the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, welcoming unsuspecting audiences for "An Evening of Improvised Music and Confused Humor." The concerts were beautifully recorded, and Gerry edited the many hours of music at Tom Newman's barge studio, only to have the resulting program shelved by Virgin Records. These master tapes present Lol's soprano saxophone and Gerry's electric guitar with great accuracy and presence. This is eccentric music making, presented as Three Fairy Dances, brimming with buoyancy and painted with cohesive sound colours. Echoes of Duneden invites an intimate experience to the open hearted listener.

'Empires Never Last' is the sixth proper Galahad studio album. This is easily Galahad's heaviest, most muscular and guitar orientated album to date. Although a lot darker both musically and lyrically from previous albums the sound is still distinctively Galahad. Keyboards still feature prominently, but the band evokes a more industrial feel at times on this album with its liberal use of sequencers, effects, samples and unusual electronic sounds. There are quieter moments, but these only serve to provide the required light and shade, there are certainly no ballads on ENL! Empires also features a few special guests including Karl Groom (Threshold) on guitar, Clive Nolan (Arena, Pendragon) on fake dulcimer and Tina Booth (Magenta) on vocals.

Steve Hillage first came to prominence as a member of the multi-national rock band Gong. Steve appeared on successful albums such as Angels Egg, You and his final album with the band, Shamal. Steve recorded his first solo album in 1975 entitled Fish Rising. This album was recorded whilst still a member of Gong. Shortly after however, Steve and his partner Miquette Giraudy left Gong embarking on a career that continues to this day under the name System Seven. In 1976 Steve recorded the album "L" with Todd Rundgren producing. The album was a huge success and Steve subsequently formed the Steve Hillage Band which included former Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker and future Camel bassist Colin Bass. The band made its live debut at the Hyde Park concert staged by Queen in September 1976. Following the live debut the band played numerous live concerts including a concert in Germany in early 1977 for German television. This performance is now captured on this DVD. The track listing of this fabulous performance from the first Steve Hillage band includes: Salmon Song, Hurdy Gurdy Glissando, Hurdy Gurdy Man, Solar Musick Suite, Lunar Musick Suite, It's All Too Much, (Lunar Musick Suite)/ It's All Too Much II, Aftaglid Pt. Mainhorse would probably be a footnote in rock history and still be residing in the section of record collectors shops were it not for the inclusion of Swiss Keyboard player Patrick Moraz. Patrick Moraz is of course now famous as the man who replaced Rick Wakeman in Yes and recorded the Relayer album and also the man who replaced Mike Pinder in the Moody Blues. Mainhorse signed originally to Polydor Records in 1970 and released their self-titled debut in 1971. The album whilst showing immense promise enjoyed only limited success commercially and the band disbanded shortly after the album failed to catapult the band to worldwide stardom. Along with Patrick Moraz the other musician of note was Bryson Graham who would go on to play with Gary Wright in Wonderwheel and then join Wright in a re formed Spooky Tooth in 1972. The Mainhorse album is an unabashed progressive rock album and over the years has built up a sizeable fan base although its scarcity ensures that the price it commands puts it beyond the casual listener. Tracks featured are Pale Sky, Passing Years and the extended God which is considered a highlight of the album and a good showcase for the style that Patrick Moraz would go on to popularize in Refugee, Yes and his solo work. The album has never been commercially available on CD making this release its debut in that format. The album has been re mastered personally by Patrick Moraz for this release.
Man/Live at the Roundhouse 1976 ....import DVD $24.99
By 1976 Welsh wonders the Man band had been a working unit for eight years. At this point in their career the only founding member still standing was Mickey Jones. He was joined by long time drummer Terry Williams, in again out again and in again Deke Leonard,(then on his third stint of duty), keyboard player Phil Ryan, in his second stint with the band, and new boy John McKenzie on bass. The band feeling that they had gone as far as they could go decided to go out with style on a British "Farewell" tour to promote their most recent long playing platter The Welsh Connection. The tour's highlight would be a series of concerts at the London Roundhouse. Over the three days, however, the band were also filmed at the Roundhouse and the resultant film includes performances from the three days and features interviews with the band as well as the band's manager and even the hard working, put upon road crew. The band are in top form, but let's face it, when were they not in top form? In addition to the informative and hugely enlightening interviews the band perform some classic Man material including 771 551, Born With A Future, Bananas and Babe I’m Gonna Leave You. This fascinating documentary has rarely been seen since the original film was broadcast in the late seventies and gives a great insight into what the band were all about during their seventies heyday.
Man/Live in Cologne Germany 17th April 1975 ....import DVD $24.99
When this live in the studio performance was taped for German television Martin Ace had only been back in the band for just over two weeks. His recall to the ranks of Man was due to the sudden departure of the previous bassist in Man, Ken Whaley who departed just before the end of the American tour. Whilst being a member of Man during the years 1970 through 1971 Martin had been busying himself with other projects including his own band The Flying Aces. Watching this live in the studio concert however it would seem to the outsider as though it was business as usual such was the quality of the performance. The set was pretty much as it had been for the American tour and included the long time Man staples C'mon, Many Are Called But Few Get Up and Romain alongside some newer material such as Hard Way To Die which had appeared on the bands most recent album Slow Motion and the song Someone Is Calling which had surfaced during the sessions for Slow Motion but unfortunately due to the restrictions of vinyl was omitted from the final running order. There were also a couple of songs from Deke Leonard's Iceberg including A Hard Way To Live and the opener 7171-551. As has already been mentioned the band seemed incredibly at ease despite the problems caused by Ken Whaley's departure and the concert ranks amongst the best performances captured on tape of the band. This line up of Man however was only ever considered a temporary solution to the band's problems and following a tour which featured former Quicksilver Messenger Service guitarist John Cippolina and the subsequent live album entitled Maximum Darkness and a few European dates at the end of July Martin Ace headed off once more to pastures new although as history has proved it wasn't to be his last brush with the Man Band.

John Martyn Live was recorded at the Shaw Theatre London during the tour to promote the Apprentice album on March 31st 1990. The album features a good mix what was then recent material alongside classic older material such as May You Never, Dealer, Couldn’t Love You More, Outside In and John Wayne. Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour also features on two tracks, John Wayne and Look At That Girl which was about John Martyn's daughter who was actually in the audience at the time of the recording.

Swiss born Patrick Moraz is probably best known in rock music circles as the man who was to play a major part in two of the world's biggest rock bands. Patrick was with Yes recording the album Relayer and touring extensively with the band between 1974 and 1976. The performance this time however as well as introducing the upgrade in keyboard technology also finds Patrick getting into the spirit of the performance by dressing up in costume for a number of the pieces. This performance was also selected to be the official Swiss Nomination in Switzerland's Golden Rose/Montreux Festival in 1984. The concert took place at Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New Jersey in 1995 and captures Patrick's piano work perfectly. This release will be the first time that this performance has been released on DVD although it was previously available as a VHS. The Story Of I was Patrick’s debut solo album and recorded in late 1975 during a period when all the members of Yes embarked on solo projects. The album was a concept piece based around a story Patrick had written. Musically the album features Latin and rock rhythms in fact the entire album has a very percussive feel to it. One of the featured musicians on the album alongside Patrick is well known session drummer Andy Newmark. Other featured musicians on the album are jazz drummer Alphonse Mouzon and bassist Jeff Berlin. The Story Of I is part of an extensive reissue campaign through 2006 that will see all Patrick’s back catalogue albums receive a new release through Voiceprint. 1984's Timecode continues the series in the re issue of Patrick Moraz’s back catalogue. This album is considered by many to be possibly the most pop oriented release from Patrick Moraz although it rather depends on your definition of the word pop. The album features Bill Bruford on electronic percussion on the track Life In The Underworld. Other tracks to feature on this album are No Sleep Tonight and Black Brains Of Positronic Africa. As with all the albums in this series of re issues Patrick Moraz has personally re mastered this album for release. It also includes the bonus tracks No Sleep Tonight Remix and Black Brains of Positronic Africa Remix.

Although well known for his virtuosity with electronic keyboards Patrick's love of the piano is well known. These recordings are taken from a series of concerts performed by Patrick and feature improvised pieces. The music on this disc is the best material drawn from fourteen hours of performance material. Two of the pieces will be familiar to long time fans of Patrick Moraz. Karu which appeared on the Bruford Moraz release Flags and also Patrick's third album and The Best Years Of Our Lives which originally appeared on The Story Of I. As with the other albums in this series Windows Of Time has been re mastered personally by Patrick Moraz for this release.

There have been a number of releases from Mother Gong and Gilli Smyth over the last twelve months all of which have sold well. The latest of these releases is 2006. Recorded spontaneously at the Gong Uncon in Glastonbury in 2005. The album consists of live tracks recorded at the Uncon meeting and also two new studio tracks recorded by Gilli in 2006 during the mixing of the album. Interest in Mother Gong and the extended Gong family has never been higher and the album will be released in time for the forthcoming Gong Convention to be held in Amsterdam in November 2006.

The performance took place at the spectacularly successful Gong INCON which took place in November 2006 and reprised the successful appearance of Mother Gong at the previous Gong UNCON in 2005. The band featured Gilli Smyth, Orlando Allen, Didier Malherbe, Gwyo Zepix and Tim Hall and was one of the undoubted hit's of the 2006 UNCON.

This film is a celebration of that achievement. THE SPACE MOVIE, made in 1979 at the request of NASA to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Neil Armstrong's historic journey, was itself a special achievement. First, NASA and The United States National Archive made all the footage (which is now famous the world around) available for the very first time, including never before seen film of the lunar landscape, life aboard the spacecraft, the Space Shuttle, Mars, Venus and beyond. Even more importantly, NASA released the extraordinary (and scary) soundtracks of the all the conversations between the astronauts and ground control in Houston. The film's soundtrack was written, arranged and performed by MIKE OLDFIELD. He used extracts from his ground-breaking symphonic tone-poems such as 'Tubular Bells' and 'Hergest Ridge,' including previously unreleased orchestral versions, and wound these in and out of the NASA soundtracks together with new music which was eventually released on the in a different form on 'Incantations.' The result is a unique soundtrack for a unique film. No wonder it was described as "the best British film of the year." Tony Palmer/Fairport Convention and Matthews Southern Comfort ....import DVD $25.99
By 1970 Fairport Convention had been together as a band for some three years. During this period, the band had recorded and released five studio albums, with one of the albums, Liege and Lief, being hailed as genre defining. At the time of the filming of this performance, the band had just recorded their most recent album Full House, with the line-up featuring founder members Richard Thompson and Simon Nicol, alongside Dave Pegg, Dave Swarbrick and drummer Dave Mattacks. This line-up was - and still is - considered one of the key line-ups of Fairport Convention, although the band only managed one studio and (released much later) one live album. Apart from the footage contained on this DVD, the Full House line-up was unfortunately never filmed commercially until reunions at the band's regular Cropredy Festival years later. The film, directed by renowned British film director Tony Palmer, captures the band at the Maidstone Fiesta during the summer of 1970 as they run through their set of the time. This included various jigs and reels, and the songs Sir Patrick Spens and Now Be Thankful. Now Be Thankful, incidentally, although originally recorded for the band's album Full House, was even released at the time as a single. The film also features two songs from Matthews Southern Comfort, the band led by former Fairport Convention member, Ian Matthews. As well as having the Fairport connection, Matthews Southern Comfort would also go on to have a massive hit single with a cover of the Joni Mitchell song Woodstock in late 1970. The film has only recently been rediscovered and the restoration overseen by Tony Palmer. The DVD also includes bonus footage of an exclusive interview filmed in spring 2007 with director Tony Palmer where he explains how he first met Fairport Convention and his thoughts on the band and the film over thirty five years later.

Panic Room was formed following the break-up of UK rock group, Karnataka, and features four members of the original award winning line-up. The band's music ranges from intimate acoustic songs to full-on multi-layered symphonic progressive rock, while retaining a contemporary edge. With the line-up the quality of the song writing and musicianship will be familiar to fans of the original Karnataka, but Panic Room also experiments with new directions to create an original multi-faceted sound. The debut album from the band manages to mix the familiar with something new and fresh with a number of elements and influences brought to bear. The material on the album has been tested via the bands myspace page and their own dedicated website and the reaction bodes well for the future. With four members of the previous incarnation of Karnataka on board including Anne-Marie Helder, Pau Davies, Gavin John Griffiths and Jonathan Edwards, as well as members of Mostly Autumn and Fish's band. Panic Room however have an identity of their own away from any comparisons.

Anthony Phillips was a founder member of the British Rock band Genesis. The 30th anniversary of the original release of Ant's solo debut album is marked with the re-issue of the album as an expanded 2 CD version. The album itself has been expertly re-mastered from the original master tapes by recording engineer and co-producer of the original album Simon Heyworth. The location of the original master tapes brought to light the previously unheard Lute's Chorus Reprise section of Henry: Portraits From Tudor Times which was excised from track at the final stage of completing the album as it was felt at the time that the track was a little too long. This has now been restored to its rightful place on the album in order that the track can be heard for the first time in the originally intended form. The extra CD features a fascinating "behind the scenes" view of the initial stages of the recording of the album with the basic tracks of Ant and Mike Rutherford's original acoustic guitar parts for The Geese & The Ghost (Parts One & Two), Which Way The Wind Blows and Henry: Portraits From Tudor Times being mixed for the first time in isolation from the later overdubs that were added to the album. Complimenting these unique versions of the original tracks is the only unreleased track from the original sessions (a planned new version of the co-written Silver Song that never progressed beyond this initial recording), Ant's original demo of Collections (which was recorded for Charisma Records boss Tony Stratton-Smith in the Spring of 1974) and the original basic instrumental tracks of God If I Saw Her Now and Sleepfall. Last but by no means least the final track is the unreleased single version of Silver Song, recorded in November 1973 by Ant together with Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins which receives it's first official release. The re-issue will also feature new liner notes with a detailed account of the making of the album including contributions from John Hackett, co-producer Simon Heyworth and cover artist Peter Cross together with Ant's own memories of the album. Rosanna Arquette also shares her memories of one of her favourite tracks on the album.

Anthony Phillips is also recognised widely as a composer of music for film and television. Wildlife is a compilation of highlights of the music written and recorded by Ant and Joji Hirota for television wildlife programmes. Anthony Phillips was a founder member of the British Rock band Genesis. Anthony recorded the albums From Genesis To Revelation and Trespass and also performed a great many gigs before deciding to leave the band following a particularly bad bout of stage fright and also suffering a debilitating bout of bronchial pneumonia. It was between the years 1970 and the release of his debut album The Geese And The Ghost in 1977 that many fans lost sight of Anthony Phillips. In actual fact much of the material that would make up the Geese And The Ghost would be written during this time. The Geese and the Ghost was originally released in 1977 and features performances from Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins alongside Anthony and opens his account as a solo artist. Anthony’s second solo album was released in May 1978 housed in a striking sleeve designed by Peter Cross and produced by Rupert Hine. This reissue has been re mastered and contains a second disc of rarities and outtakes recorded before and during the sessions for the album. Amongst the tracks are various pre release mixes of tracks alongside demos of a number of the tracks including tracks that never made the finished line up. 2008 will see the fortieth anniversary of Genesis and the thirtieth anniversary of the original release of Wise After The Event.

Originally released in Germany in 1993, Vile Foamy Ectoplasm reappears in a revised and expanded version covering recordings from 1967 to 2002. This time, Don Preston wanted to include just his own compositions. (Don't worry - the tracks Lady Queen Bee and Sweet 15 will appear on another Don Preston compilation). Eight additional tracks have been included, featuring Loki (The Thrones of Saturn), whose gong sections were engineered by Frank Zappa, and recordings with Bunk Gardner, The Grandmothers and Don Preston's Akashic Ensemble. Radius is the band formed by respected musician Geoff Serle. The band first came into existence in 1987 and since that time has played many concerts and even appeared on television on the BBC Jazz programme Jazz Today. The band has also released a number of highly regarded and critically well received albums including Sightseeing, Elevation, There Is No Peace and Civilizations. Another key member of the band is David Cross who will be familiar to fans of King Crimson as David was a member of the band and featured on a number of albums released by King Crimson during the seventies including Larks Tongues In Aspic, Starless and Bible Black and USA. A Round Radius is the latest album from the band which will be of interest to both fans of Geoff Serle who has an extensive catalogue of releases and David Cross and of course fans who have come to David Cross through his work with King Crimson and has more recently developed a strong solo career.

The Reasoning were born out of necessity. Necessity to play and necessity to bring music to people who desired more than just rock and more than just prog. The band formed in October 2005 after Matthew Cohen left prog band Magenta earlier that year. He quickly established an experienced line up of musicians and set about writing songs. Within a short period of time things fell into place, the material started to flow and The Reasoning welcomed on board a truly exceptional talent in the form of multi award winning singer Rachel Jones, who had previously fronted Karnataka, and has won Best Female singer for the Classic Rock Society for an unprecedented 4 consecutive years. The Reasoning also boasts the vocal talents of Dylan Thompson and Gareth Jones. Their incredible understanding of harmonies and dynamics makes the band's sound one to behold. Along with Lee Wright and Vinden Wylde, this band knows how to play and entertain. Their debut album, mixed by Dave Meegan (U2, Marillion), is due for release in March 2007 through Comet Music and a special guest appearance by Steve Rothery (Marillion) has ensured that the buzz surrounding this band is already formidable. The association with well-known industry names doesn't end there, however. Liz Prendergast (Blue Horses) has also contributed to the album – and with the band's powerful image captured by the talents of photographer Paul Harries (Nirvana, Muse, Evanescence, Marilyn Manson), this is undoubtedly a Reasoning to be reckoned with.
