Emerson, Lake and Palmer were one of the very first supergroups having converged from such groups as The Nice, King Crimson, Atomic Rooster and the Crazy World of Arthur Brown. And they lived up to the name being one of the prime innovators in the (at that time) youthful genre of progressive rock. They spawned many imitators, none quite approaching the genius of the original. Eventually they formed their own record label, Manticore Records, not only for their own releases, but for other progressive artists of the time (Pete Sinfield, Banco, PFM, etc.).
After the initial break up of the group in the late 70's, the label ceased operation as well. But in the last couple years Manticore Records has returned, initially to make available previously unreleased music. But one hopes the continued success of Manticore will bring about reissues of some of the original Manticore releases as well as some new original material!

3.2/The Rules Have Changed ....CD $13.99
3.2/The Rules Have Changed [Japanese pressing] ....import CD $39.99
In October 2015, conversations about a new "3" album started between Robert Berry and Frontiers President, Serafino Perugino as Robert had been speaking to Keith about releasing the long delayed 3 follow up album. Along with renewed fan interest in the band and those conversations, Berry had sparked revived enthusiasm from Keith Emerson for pursuing the project. The exchange of musical ideas and song collaborations ultimately paved the groundwork for this new release to be called 3.2. Everything was set. Song ideas, studio time, record contract and then, that dark day. Emerson's untimely death made the album an uncertainty. Robert was left with Keith Emerson's final musical ideas for the project. From old cassette tapes, keyboard parts written over the phone, to long discussions about style, the framework of the album was set and ready to be produced. After several months of grieving and contemplation about what to do with these co-written songs and musical fragments from Emerson, Robert decided to resume work on the material that was created and craft a record that would ultimately be a fitting tribute to Keith Emerson's musical legacy and at the same time re-energize and update the musical style started with '3' some 30 years ago. The final result is 3.2, a reboot of the original "3" project, centered on Robert Berry's amazing talents. This is a record that deserves to be heard by each and every fan of the great Keith Emerson and includes some exquisite musical parts, which every progressive music fan will be delighted to indulge in. The Japanese pressing includes one bonus track - the instrumental 'Sailor's Hornpipe.'

3 (Emerson Berry & Palmer)/Live - Rockin' the Ritz ....double CD $22.99
The British/American progressive rock band 3 was a spin off from Emerson Lake & Palmer, releasing just one album in 1988 called To the Power of Three produced by Palmer. This release was recorded on the successful tour they undertook to promote the then-new album. During the tour, the band mixed material from the new record with classics from ELP and The Nice. The show ended with a storming version of The Byrds classic 'Eight Miles High.' This two CD live set is a strong reminder of what a maestro Emerson was on the keyboards. "I am happy these rare 3 recordings have finally seen the light of day. This group was a transition for Keith, and myself that eventually got us back to Emerson, Lake & Palmer. We had formed "3" with Robert Berry, at the suggestion of Geffen Records and I think we made some pretty innovative music. This live concert proves the energy behind our music was very much alive and it still sounds relevant today. Some might say this was a left turn in our musical journey; but, in the end, the scenery was still enjoyable." Carl Palmer, September 2017. Tracks include: Fanfare for the Common Man, Desde la Vida, Lover to Lover, Band Introductions, Hoedown, You Do or You Don't, Talkin' 'Bout, Dream Runner, Creole Dance, On My Way Home, Runaway, Standing in the Shadow of Love, America - Rondo - Carl Palmer Drum Solo - Fugue in D Minor BMV 565, Eight Miles High - Peter Gunn.

Emerson Lake & Powell/Live in Concert & More ....double CD $25.99
It was 1986 and a reunion was being planned for the 1970s British super-group, Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Carl Palmer however was still contractually obliged to record two more albums for Geffen Records with his own platinum band, Asia. So, with the blessing of Carl Palmer, Emerson and Lake decided to carry on with another drummer. After a brief search, it was suggested to Emerson and Lake that they should approach Cozy Powell, a handsome Brit with a long list of successful band memberships, would soon prove to be the best choice to fill Palmer's illustrious shoes. After only one rehearsal, it was clear to both Emerson and Lake that ELPowell would indeed be a very different sounding band than Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Previously, these recordings could only be heard on illegal bootlegs, with considerably poorer audio quality, but after locating a first generation board recording, the tapes were digitally re-mastered and are now sonically better than ever. Enjoy a trip back to 1986 and the year of Emerson, Lake and Powell!
