Dutch guitar player Jan Akkerman (1946) did almost anything a musician could possibly do.
He worked with many different musicians like BB King, Charlie Byrd, Cozy Powell, Claus
Ogerman and Ice-T, besides being a former member of international acclaimed bands such as

playing without any boundaries or limitations. Whether it’s ‘Tabernakel’

attitude and musical eclecticism. The band was formed in 1969 when James Warren defected
from local Bristol band Dawn to join Andy Davis and Crun Walter. Their debut album was

Made in 2001, this album features the final recordings of Mickey Finn, who along with
original T.Rex member Paul Fenton reformed in 1997, initially to commemorate the 20th
Anniversary of Marc Bolan's untimely death. Half of the classic T.Rex duo, Mickey had
joined during the Tyrannosaurus Rex era (Beard Of Stars album) as percussionist
replacement for Steve 'Peregrine' Took and bought an early rock n roll (Be-Bop-A-Lula)
approach to the sound. Paul Fenton had joined the band as drummer in 1973 after Marc
shortened the name to T.Rex and became a pop star. A reformed version of T.Rex, featuring
old & new members, continues to play all over Europe. Musicians for this session of
classic T.Rex songs were Mickey Finn, Paul Fenton,, Alan Silson, Rob Benson, Dave Major,

after the tour at a friend's place in LA. For various reasons, the album's release was

East Berlin at the Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle. This show was one of a kind for several
reasons: firstly, the sold-out hall saw the first concert of a West German band after the
fall of the Berlin Wall. Secondly, it was the live debut of a man, who would help shape
TD's ongoing history - Jerome Froese made his first on-stage appearance with the group at
this show. Altogether, this made for a very special event that no one who attended will
ever forget and that will also be of fan interest in general because it marked a turning

available through the band's website. In November 2006 TD received an offer from a
Japanese Business Manager, who turned 82 last year, to compose and record the so-called
Five Atomic Seasons. As it was clear that this was a real serious assignment, TD were told
that the person who ordered the composition did study during his youth in the two cities
which had been destroyed by atomic bombardments back in 1945, Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The
five compositions had to be in length 54 minutes each. Part one and two, - Spring and
Summer 1945 - the client spent living in Nagasaki. Here you have Part One Springtime in

so-called Five Atomic Seasons. The compositions reflect the experiences Mr. H. T., an 82
year old Japanese business man, had during the time of the atomic bomb dropping in summer
1945 in Japan. This dramatic incident coincided with the relationship to his early love
who had no chance to survive that horrible attack. H. T. was so heavily s hocked that he
decided to abandon the world by going into a monastery. The music - written as one long
track of 54 minutes - dramatically describes a part of his life and destiny. TD.

Van Der Graff Generator - Time Vaults $25.95
Van Der Graaf Generator could probably best be described as difficult listening music. The
antithesis of easy listening music. Peter Hamill does not do background there is very
little light here. Most people at first hearing do not understand VDG music, come to think
of it even at the hundredth hearing most people dont understand it. These are archive
recordings from the halcyon lost period of VDG recorded between 1972 and 1975: Post Pawn
Hearts and pre Godbluff. Peter Hammill personally compiled the album from rare and archive
tapes. Some overdubs were added but the whole album was recorded in nine hours to retain
the spirit of the original venture. Some are studio live recordings and others are studio
rarities. They are often works in progress that never made it vinyl in this form but have
the basis for later tracks. It has at times a random freeform nature with some band
versions of solo songs. The tracks have been re-mastered and now posses a clarity and
depth that they previously lacked.
