Show Your Hand (1973), the unreleased How Sweet Can You Get (1974) and their official
sophomore album Average White Band (1974). Their debut album, Show Your Hand, is expanded
to feature eight bonus tracks, seven of which are previously unreleased. The second disc
commences with what was intended to be the band’s second album for MCA, How Sweet Can
You Get?. However MCA rejected it, and it was only ever issued as part of a White Album
package many years later. We have now created its intended sleeve for the first time for
this special release. Producer Arif Mardin heard the songs, signed the band to Atlantic
Records and set about re-recording eight of the songs along with two new compositions. The
resulting album Average White Band was issued in September 1974 and was sitting at the top

Deep Purple - Live At Inglewood '68 $20.95
2009 archive live release from the British rockers’ Mk 1 line-up. So little evidence
of this line-up's live act remains that this tape, the only surviving recording of the
first incarnation of Deep Purple on stage, is of great interest, with the band exhibiting
a brash confidence in front of 16,000 Cream fans. As a support act, Deep Purple's set was
a little shorter than normal but despite the passing of over 40 years, it's still an
exciting experience. The sound, taken from an original Sony open reel, isn't bad at all
once you get used to the ambience, with just a little distortion in the second number and
someone in the audience heard near the microphone at one or two quiet moments. It was
first released officially several years ago by Sonic Zoom but has been long out of print.
Due to many requests it has now been added to the immensely popular Official Archive
Collection, with a new cover, and a 12 page booklet. Purple.

Joe Cocker (born in Sheffield, 1944) started his musical career in the pubs of Sheffield.
His first band 'The Avengers' did not achieve great success although they did open for the
Rolling Stones at Sheffield City Hall, which was received very well. It was here that his
fan base started to grow. His next band 'Joe Cocker Big Blues' built up a large following
with the release of a cover of The Beatles "I'll Cry Instead"- and even ventured
to France where they played on American air bases. This was very popular and the Americans
seemed to love Joe- however when he returned to England, luck ran out and 'Joe Cocker Big
Blues' collapsed. It wasn't for another year until Joe hit the big time, when he formed
'The Grease Band' with Chris Stainton. When Denny Cordell (The producer of The Moody
Blues, Procul Harum and Georgie Fame) heard a demo of 'The Grease Band' he immediately set
them up with a residency at The Marquee. Joe then went on to play all the major Rock
Festivals including Woodstock- where he performed in front of half a million people. In
the 1970's Cocker made over $3 in record sales, and his first three albums went platinum.
Then was his 'Mad Dogs And Englishmen' tour in 1972, where Joe played in forty-eight
cities in fifty-six days. This tour was very successful however it left Joe exhausted and
in his own words "in a heap in Los Angeles, very disillusioned with the rock
business". It was at this time that Cocker battled with a drug abuse problem, but
managed to make a comeback in the 80's with several hits, including: 'Up Where We Belong',
'You Are So Beautiful', Unchain My Heart' and 'You Can Leave Your Hat On'. Cocker truly is
a rock legend, with hits spanning over four decades- and he doesn't plan to stop there!!

one of the projects that was embarked upon was an LP by a group called U.S. A single 'Baby
I Owe You Something Good' b/w 'I Miss My Baby' appeared that year credited to U.S. music
with Funkadelic. An album reached test-pressing stage, but until now no more has been
heard of it. U.S. (which stood for United Soul) were from George Clinton's home town of
Plainfield, New Jersey and included future Funkadelic members Gary Shider, Cordell and
Larry Mosson. The album was produced by Bernie Worrell, Ray Davies and Fuzzy Haskins; it
featured many Funkadelic musicians. The original album of five tracks includes some prime
era Funkadelic grooves including the outrageous 'Rat Kiss The Cat On The Navel' and 'Be
What You Is' which are both uptempo psychedelic funk, as well as the wonderful
gospel-imbued vocals of Shider on 'I Miss My Baby' and the opener 'This Broken Heart'.
