Camel Productions

Camel is a perfect example of what can happen when a group decides to free themselves from the shackles of the corporate world and go independent. Their first album under Camel Productions, Dust and Dreams, was a return to form that the corporate world wouldn't allow, but which the fans absolutely clamored for. The next studio album, Harbour of Tears, was one many fans rank among their best.

This new freedom also allowed Camel to examine their archives and release their own series of 'official bootlegs,' another item the fans crave. This uplifting trend can only continue as long as Camel Productions gets your support.

Camel/The Snow Goose (2013) ....import CD $20.99

Camel will embark on a brief tour in the autumn 2013, performing The Snow Goose for the first time since the Royal Albert Hall show in 1975, in loving memory of Peter Bardens and in celebration of Camel's long and illustrious musical career. Andrew Latimer will be joined by Colin Bass, Denis Clement, Guy LeBlanc and Jason Hart for the show.  Jason's most notable pedigree is with Renaissance so he has slotted in with Camel beautifully.  A statement explains: "The evening pays tribute to former band member Peter Bardens, who died of cancer at the same time that frontman Latimer was battling a grave illness.  Ten years later, Latimer has regained his health and is willing to celebrate a career that spans over four decades. This two-set show will also embrace compositions recorded throughout those years in a personal covenant of appreciation for a deeply rewarding life of music."  As a taster for the upcoming shows, The Snow Goose has been lovingly re-recorded. Faithful to the original with tasty new arrangements, new artwork and enhancements for stage presentation, The Snow Goose is not only a timeless story of love and war. It is a tale of dignity and kindness lifted to the heart on the wings of an injured Snow Goose through her unique relationship with two humans. Written by Paul Gallico, this short story inspired this beautiful music.

After recording a string of successful albums with Camel, "Breathless" would be the last studio album to feature Peter Bardens and heralded more line-up changes for the band. Former Caravan And Hatfield & The North member Richard Sinclair had already been in Camel for some months and was soon joined by his cousin Dave Sinclair in a new Camel line-up. "Breathless" features traditional Camel music along with the Canterbury influences associated with Richard Sinclair, making for a unique album. This Esoteric Recordings reissue has been re-mastered from the original master tapes and includes the single version of 'Rainbows End' as a bonus track.

Produced by Rupert Hine, the album was a chart success and spawned an extensive World tour. Unlike many bandswhose careers had begun in the 1970s, Camel continued to enjoy much success in the 1980s, producing fine studio albums such as Stationary Traveller. Although destined to be Camel's final studio album for Decca Records, it was a fine effort. The subsequent tour to promote the album was equally memorable and was captured by Decca at Hammersmith Odeon on 11th May 1984 and released as the album Pressure Points later that year. The concert saw Camel joined by former member Peter Bardens for certain songs during the set, including a rousing version of Lady Fantasy, not featured on the original album.   Long unavailable on CD, this newly re-mastered Esoteric Recordings reissue has been expanded to a 2CD set to include songs not featured on the original album.

This Esoteric Recordings reissue has been re-mastered from the original master tapes and includes the full 12" single version of 'Pressure Points' and the song 'In the Arms of Waltzing Fraulines' as bonus tracks.

Guy LeBlanc, Colin Bass and Denis Clement joined Andrew Latimer at Little Barn studios for Camel's newest recording and a celebration of Camel's 30th anniversary, A Nod and a Wink. Spirits were exceptionally high within the band despite 12-hour days in the studio. An album blending a bit of fun and nostalgia with a nod to Camel's roots and a wink at the whimsical, "A Nod and a Wink" comprises 7 tracks and approximately 55 minutes of music, and is HDCD encoded.  A Nod and a Wink is dedicated to one of Camel's founding members, Pete Bardens.

Camel - On the Road 1972

This album was taken from one of the earliest tours with the original line-up of Andrew Latimer, Pete Bardens, Andy Ward and Doug Ferguson. Although the essence of Camel changed when Doug left and we all grew apart musically, our friendships remain strong to this day. I chose this tape because it has the feel that inspired us to work together, despite it being nearly 20 years old and not the best quality. It's meant to be a bit of fun and an inexpensive souvenir of a few memories, which is something that will never change. - Andrew Latimer

Camel/The Paris Collection (2000)

A long and winding road for this tour in particular. But when Camel arrived in Paris, the city of light, on 30th September 2000 it turned out to be the musician's most fun-filled performance.  Their enjoyment is obvious throughout, perhaps because keyboardist Guy LeBlanc and drummer Denis Clement are French-Canadian ... perhaps because there was 'something in the air'.  Certainly, there was good music in the air. Listening to it is just as much fun.  Track listing: Ice, Chord Change, Fingertips, Slow Yourself Down, Sahara, Mother Road, Little Rivers and Little Rose, Hopeless Anger, Lady Fantasy and BONUS TRACK Slow Yourself Down a special late-night version recorded by Andrew and Guy during rehearsals.
